Very informative on basics. However, WARNING TO DIY NOVICES! - the video in places looking up at this job starting at about 5:00 is FLIPED (probably because using wrong side phone camera) it is NOT “right turn loosen” as for example when taking out the drain plug. Just the opposite! Also, if your trans does not have a dip stick (like my 2013 Camry), the refill procedure is entirely different and important to get right. Others’ on RUclips can show you that. I recommend the “CareCare Nut’s video for that. Again, very informative and easy to follow and I’m sure very helpful especially in its suitability for a range of spoken language viewers.
Good job, bye Filter and Gasket, drain the rest and clean up the perimeter, new o-ring and gasket, clean and check bolts, scrub the pan. At least you did not forget the magnets to collect fine metal particles. Back together and remove that Socket used a a spacer so you could drop the pan. It's going to take plenty of fluid.
2004 Camry calls for ONLY using Type-T-IV fluid. This is according to the manual, and everywhere else I've looked. Am I missing something here? From what I gather using the wrong fluid, or mixing fluids is a big no no.
Wonderful video! What is the torque value of 3 long bolts for the filter? What are the torque values of 16 shell bolts and the torque value of transmission bottom bolts to the beam, which you removed for more space? A newbie is unlikely to have a proper hand feeling for tightness.
Here in the USA , the thought is to drain ATF every 30000-40000 miles . Some are doing a " passive flush " , I believe it involves . Disconnecting the hoses from the transmission cooler . Vehicle running , one hose suctioing up new fluid to force the old fluid out of the other hose . And I would always change the filter , what harm can come from it . And when should you be changing the filter . There are those that say " drain and fill " , nothing else necessary .
Hi. After completely draining the trans oil and replacing the filter, how much of oil should you add for Toyota Camry 2008? I put in 5.7L and the car started missing gears (4th and above mainly) so I took out 500ml. It's still slipping gears. How much should I have in there?
For the 2017 model corolla CVT transmission, the service only changes the oil every 80,000 kilometers. Why is there no filter change? Do you not change filters for these models?
@@MayoCarsDR I did yesterday as you did, thank you!! I would say it's important to remove that engine mount screw from the top too, not just the 3 from the bottom
Very helpful video! Sir i have 2010 camry, the transmission is not changing to S gear when it does it's automatically changes to D back and when it's neutral changing it to D the whole car shakes or the car kinda jumps what should i do? Please let me know thanks
I was just wondering how many quarts of transmission fluid should I pour in after a Transmission Flush and Filter change... Is it 5-7 quarts? Also, did you use some sort of grease on that O-ring, if so which type of grease. Great Video...
I have camry transmission serviced on 80K. Now it has 333K do you think is it normal to flash the transmission fluid or just keep it as is, since it has no issue ?
It appears that the drain plug bolt is reverse ( left hand thread ) when I watch you remove it clockwise. Is this correct or specific to your country's import? thanks
hello sir, question, does the filter really need to be changed? I have a 2009 with 221k and I had it flushed at Valvoline at 149k back in 2019, this time I want to do a drain and fill by myself. Car drives fine but would like to know my options. Mostly highway driving. 64 miles a day. Thanks.
Yes, the transmission oil and filter should be changed in the same way as the engine, but the transmission oil and filter should be changed after 40,50,000 km.

The torque specs per 2002 OEM Toyota Repair Manual:
Transmission oil strainer: 96 in/lb (page 40-31)
Transmission pan bolts: 69 in/lb (page 40-32)
Transmission drain plug: 36 ft/lb (page 40-29)
Engine mounting insulator LH x Automatic transaxle assy: 70 ft/lb (pages 03-18 and 14-16)
One of the best videos on youtube how to service the Camry transmission, great job!
Thanks for comment
I agree!!!
Especially the trick to lift the transmission to change those few difficult bolts under the frame 👌🏾
I like the raising the transmission trick, that will make it easier to get to the back bolts.
did it before seeing him lift the engine......so much better this way. I thought about it but was not sure till I saw him excellent ty
Gud job. Explained nicely without saying a word.

Drain and fill is between the intervals of the full filter change
Yeah but in my book says it's good for 150000 miles.....😮

Withfilter 4.5L

Yes I also change the filter of this model, now I will make a video for you
@@MayoCarsDR Thanks, I'm following you all the time. I'm usually the first to watch your videos
Is there a way to get those rough to reach bolts without raising the block
It is best to lift the block to open these bolts as there is very little space underneath

Take your vehicle to a mechanic. The problem is inside your transmission
Did you ever figure out what was wrong?
I was just wondering how many quarts of transmission fluid should I pour in after a Transmission Flush and Filter change... Is it 5-7 quarts? Also, did you use some sort of grease on that O-ring, if so which type of grease. Great Video...
4-5L oil
O ring apple any oil
Mine said it was 6.9 L I'm gonna have to make sure
Sir what solution ur using to clean the transmission pan? Is it petrol?? And what about gasket? No need to put the sealant?
Yes I'm using gasoline to clean the oil pan and it doesn't need silicone at all if you install a new gas kit.
How do you find the gasket and filter parts? Is it possible to buy directly from Toyota? Part numbers would be helpful. Thank you for the video!
Where are you from,
All these parts can be purchased from the market and can also be purchased directly from Toyota
I have camry transmission serviced on 80K. Now it has 333K do you think is it normal to flash the transmission fluid or just keep it as is, since it has no issue ?
If your transmission has no problems, you should get it serviced and it will last longer
@@MayoCarsDRwhatnofnim changing it because it is having issues. They keep telling me xhange the fluid leave the filter?
Excelente video, mi transmisión hace un pequeño brinco de segunda a tercera velocidad, puede ser el filtro y el aceite el problema?

Change it and see, maybe your problem will be solved
And maybe if you have never changed the oil before then the problem will be more
Be nice to know what size sockets!
What is that liquid spray for cleaning oil and rust stain?
Gasoline

The difference is the front and back camera

i put two more magnets in the pan will that be a problem?
No problem
I always thought it was righty tidy Lefty Lucy and in the video looks like it’s the other way around
How do you read the dipstick? It's not really clear
It doesn't look right in the camera, but it looks right on the dipstick
Is this video off or all the bolts reversed threads?
This difference is due to the front camera
What, the drain plug is reverse thread?????
It has a different front and back camera
I heard many people said you don't needs to change the transmission fluid on a camry,is that true?😮
No
This information is incorrect
