    Great informative video. Always smart to watch a good video before doing something you've never done. That being said I think we can all agree that this is beyond ridiculous and extremely over engineered. I say this far too often but there was never anything wrong with a plain old dipstick. Lots of room for error here. Anyways, now ill go fill up this transmission.

    I think there is a service bulleting to check the fluid level at normal operating temperature that involves using a kind of 'fluid level tool' and a vacuum pump too.

    hello great video.... may I ask if the short between pins 4 and 13 of DLC holds for a 2008 Camry 3.5 liter as well?

    Hi. After completely draining the trans oil and replacing the filter, how much of oil should you add for Toyota Camry 2008? I put in 5.7L and the car started missing gears (4th and above mainly) so I took out 500ml. It's still slipping gears. How much should I have in there?

      I don’t have the answer to your question, you would have to set the fluid level

    Thought I’d ask you for help. 2009 Toyota Camry v6 went into limp mode with cel on throwing code p0015 and p0746. P0015 was fixed but when you put it into a gear it doesn’t move. What causes p0746

      Sounds like a solenoid issue in the valve body, could be a bad solenoid or it could also be bad wiring, and in an extremely rare case it could be the transmission control module

    I got a 2010 Camry, came with a bunch of codes p0741/0746/0766/2714/2757/2808, but vehicle has 200k and I’m assuming no service has been done to the transmission, would it be wise for me drain and replaced filter to inspect shaving in the pan? Or drain and fill with the best hopes first. If not I’ll just replace the whole thing lol

    • @Tech-28
      @Tech-28  8 месяцев назад +1

      I tried draining, changing filter and filling but the transmission still shifts hard so the customer is probably going to sell the car, I recommended to put a used transmission in it, it’s just more cost effective to replace it

    Hi, with the way the oil sump is constructed, are we actually able to get all of the old fluid out? Or we have some left over fluid.

    • @Tech-28

      There will be some fluid trapped inside

      @@odinakaodinnuta753 I mean if it were my own car i would change the filter however in this particular case the transmission came in shifting hard; axle seal was leaking so the fluid level was low. I made this video for people to watch. Guy didn’t want to spend the money to change the filter, just wanted the fluid topped up

    This toyota tech by the name of car care nut has these videos in which he tells of this other way to check fluid level by using laser temp gun . Running car to specific temperature . But though he gives the general temperature he doesn't give specific temperature . Can this be a good way to go by only using temp gun ? And he doesn't replace filter either like you ..Although he and others do

    • @Tech-28
      @Tech-28  7 месяцев назад

      I personally wouldn’t do it that way, I actually just use my scan tool to monitor the fluid temp but if I didn’t have my scan tool I would just use the procedure developed by Toyota to initiate the fluid temp check mode

    There is no dipstick.
    What? Okay where's the fill tube?
    There is no fill tube.
    I just watched a video where the guy is ranting he says We need a special dipstick because someone doesn't give you one.
    Finicky aye?
    So when you check the fluid level on this car you close one eye, lick your finger, see which way the wind is blowing and make sure you follow the checklist.
    Looks to me like buying a special dipstick is a bit easier to do than this procedure.
