No hate to people who want this keyboard or like percent studio. They are just not a company for me. I almost bought a luna80 but the lack of transparency is what made me not enter that gb. I would much rather go to geon, elaine, yuktsi for boards.
can confirm kohaku goated
@@rohitduda6702 i love my jaguar tkl
Great content as always. What’s your favorite 65% board Andy?
As other keyboard designers continue to push the market, having a JST like that feels like a step back. Also in the budget and midrange space, there seems to be the most innovation rather than just simply the cost of the nicer design. For ~$500, it is probably worth if you like the design especially if you're hiring a builder.
Nice vid mate
Thanks m8
A looker for sure. Glad we have force break today, but that 1.2mm pcb...
Gotta end that trend
wob on the brown ano goes hard
Wob always hits
Man haven’t seen Andy since last year
Bro same
I preordered the Casio edition - looks amazing, but sad about the review. Here’s to hoping foam comes in clutch! I may also try throwing a custom Topre PCB in there with silent rings to see how that sounds
foam will be enough to do the job
It’s a stunner for sure! But definitely would benefit from pcb foam I think . I didn’t know there was custom topre avail !
Have to design one and get it made by JLCPCB (or a similar shop) - tedious but possible. There’s some designs out there for 60% that you can upload and have produced for a decent price.
Percent Studio boards are worth the design ...mostly I desperately hope they've fixed their QC. Love my Trio65 but release and delivery was a nightmare.
I preferred the sound without the mods. I love resonance.
lucky you haha
At the beginning of the video (4:45) you say its a good thing the PCB doesn't have flexcuts. Then at 7:55 you say that because it doesn't have flexcuts so doesn't flex where you press, which isn't your taste. So which is it? Is it more a problem with the mounting system making the whole plate/PCB move up and down? Like you'd either prefer local movement or no movement at all, right? Just curious what your preference is.
Probably the mounting system. I’d honestly prefer less movement. So less actual deflection when flexing. If it’s gonna move, I’d want it to feel more natural and not like a big brick..
I think I’m just over flex as a whole
Like the design but not that fiddly connection. Here's hoping more vendors pick up the magnetic connection mechanism seen on the Neo80 and the earlier QK75N, so we no longer have to mess with cables in future keyboards.
That connection is amazing. Would save me so much stress
Will you review neo80?
btw, can you recommend linear and tactile with poppy sound in 2024?
the board determines more than the switch itself, get a pc plate too
@@x3LightNinG
Hmm, my question is if in the right board and right plate.
Which switch can provide more poppy sound.
Have percent sorted their ordering out now?
Customers of this would be relying on clickclack for ordering. So the hope is that clickclack takes care of the customers
Not a board for me, but I get why someone would like it. Shame about the problems building it but at least it stands out in the 65% space.
Exactly! It finally looks different without going the knob/exploded layout / blocker route
Debating on this or the Freya this had the edge for a bit becauae of the coffee colorway but the Freya is just more interesting
Freya is wild lmao
I wonder how that space bar would sound if you skipped the mounts near it? I've found doing so has improved most of my spacebars (if you like louder, poppier space bars).
I tried that.. didn’t do anything good
@@AndyVNguyen Bummer. Well it was worth a shot I guess haha
its a looker but dang, build + sound being on the rough end is definitely a bad look for it.
This price range of keyboards is hard to nail
percent studio releasing mid boards at high end prices, whats new.
This is better than a unikorn easily
Hard to compare imo because different mount/layout. Also different price.
@@nikocayetano1805Nuh uh
this shit is fuckin gorgeous wtf
I picked the worst color on purpose and it turned out amazing
@@AndyVNguyen ive really been in search of an actually good coffee ano and this would probably have been it if it werent one million billion dollars.
i feel that. brown ano is pretty rare and niche lol
shesshhh that price tag :\

tbh Percent boards have always been exercises in fantastic and unique design language, but with incredibly lacking sound and usually pretty basic feel. The Skog Reboot was basically just a gasket sandwich that wasn't designed to have flex, so you have a pretty hard typing feel, which is fine if that's what you're into, but ever since they started trying to approach more flexible mounts, it feels like their sound has gotten worse and worse, sounding hollow and unpleasantly resonant. Unnecessarily complicated build process, hollow and relatively dead sound profile, and then the abhorrently high asking price due to the many metals and expensive finishing processes applied just leads to a product that I think doesn't have a lot of value to anybody who actually wants to use and enjoy listening to and typing on their keyboards, rather htan just looking at them. And for the love of God, can proprietary daughterboards and those weird ribbon cables just fuck off and die? In an age when we have Fly daughterboards, C3/C4 footprint, and now S1, there is no reason to use this garbage. If you want to do a low-profile design, just use C4 or something with a Molex ezMate connector
I agree with you! The new molex connector is so weak though. So for the complicated through weight Jst it can get pulled out so easily as you’re assembling
It still amazes me that "premium" keyboards are harder to build than budget boards. Premium shouldn't equal complex. Ease of use should get more priority IMO. Aesthetic is banging though - feeling that front badge.
Looking good isn't a selling point these days, most are pleasing to look at.
At $415, i rather just buy Arc60, cheaper, easier to build, sound amazing foamless and look good.
God i hate 1.2mm Pcb, why people still use this shit.
You’re not wrong
doodoo board spensive
Clean doo doo ano
Looks like a bad Space 65 rip off
But it doesn’t have rgb.. or the same mounting.. not sure what the similarity with space is
@@AndyVNguyen The general shape is what I was referencing. With the curves and badge area.
Looks.. strangely ugly. Plus, is from a horrible company. No buy 100%
