- The new vest increases name visibility and reduces the amount of gear on an officer's belt to more evenly distribute the weight. Officers are calling the health benefits the new vest provides a "breath of fresh air."
WHO GIVES AF ABOUT WHAT THE COMMUNITY THINKS..ITS MORE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE OFFICERS
big facts
The job of Police have evolved, the threat they faced have evolved, the equipment they use have evolved, it is unreasonable to expect them stay looking the same
It's too hot right now for me to wear my orgon second City second Chance vest summertime I have to wear my tactical plate carrier I want to get cool I'll be back wearing that vest right there.
good investment for police
People who say it's too military like are almost always anti law enforcement types that have been trained to say that. These people are so sick and petty that they like the fact that wearing more gear on their belts hurts the officers. That's the mindset of the sort of person who has a problem with the vest.
Holding all your gear on your belt is a problem. It causes back issues for a lot of officers. The exterior vest is much better. You can put stuff on your vest. Which makes it easier on your back.
They need to get rid of those goofy looking hats !! This is the way law enforcement agencies are doing these days.
It's interesting how there is such a high concern for police officers to always have the best gear while major issues in every city are neglected.
Military industrial complex money being funneled directly into our city politicians' pockets.
Better gear more better movement and helps them be more safe nothing to do with the military is just better for them in the long run
@@GHOST-zy3ji it is everything to do with the military. Many PDs have contracts with Raytheon and Gen Dynamix and Palantir among others.
Lol do you really want militarized cops waging war against US citizens? It's already been happening and it's getting worse every day.
@@ktsig287 It has everything to do with th military you ignorance just keep on showing those contractors you mention only do the next things
Fire instructors
Self-defense instructor
Help trained swat units (that are mostly use only in high risk citations and clear houses)
Help trained the bomb squad that are use to stop bombs
So yea you don’t know nothing
Waging war against citizens? You mean the people that cause billions of dollars on property damage raid the capital and burn buildings cause crime?
Yea you don’t know nothing about the military or police
@@GHOST-zy3ji huh? I don't even think you live in the US lol. Your writing is almost unintelligible.
@@ktsig287 Great way to avoid the arguments
This is inline with the increasing trend around the country for police forces to become more highly militarized, regarding the citizens as a criminal enemy and themselves as an elite military force.
Or maybe the vest helps reduce weight on the belt and because of that lowers risk of hip injury oh shit guess you didn’t think of that huh
@@GHOST-zy3ji That's an added bonus feature but if all they needed to do was reduce the weight on the duty belt then thy could have used a military style web harness to hang gear, like I used to wear when I was in the Army. It would have been cheaper, lighter and cooler to wear than a Kevlar vest. Nice try Sparky, keep working those brain cells though and you'll eventually come up with a worthwhile thought.
@@videomaniac108 Addes bonus? Yea because it has shown that the duty belt because of all the require equipment has cause injury in the hip over time
Duty belts are designed to carry equipment in a readily accessible manner while leaving the officer’s hands free. The equipment is a necessary part of the job and must be carried on his/her body while working. Duty belt equipment can include a handgun, handcuffs, flashlight, latex gloves, baton, radio and pepper spray canister and can weigh up to 20 pounds when fully loaded. According to a University of California, San Francisco/Berkeley Ergonomics Program study (see Reference 1), discomfort from wearing a duty belt is driven by the amount/weight of equipment on the belt, the placement of those items against the body and the force exerted on the equipment when the officer is seated in the patrol vehicle. That’s just the minimum requirement
Army uh?
So you had everything on you duty belt?
I know you lying by the way minimum combat load of an regular soldier is 210 divided into 7 mags
Assuming you were an MP witch are the most likely to carry a hand gun beside sgt, machine gunners and lt
Their mags counts are pretty low so assuming you just carry you hang gun and mag on you duty belt
Handcuff, radios, baton, hand-held protection devices such as pepper spray, firearms and ammunition, taser, flashlights, batteries, gloves, pens, pencils, keys, multi-tool, window punch
While you most likely would distribute the weight across belt and vest they have to have everything on their duty belt and just the minimum of everything so the one not using his brain cells here is you bud
@@videomaniac108 So it makes sense to update to a much better vest it has nothing to do with the military is simply process for been more efficient doubt that you even took that into consideration either right?
@@GHOST-zy3ji Do you even understand what you're saying? Go back to sleep.
