There’s only one for me & it’s Coromandel..............I love patchouli 💚 Seriously though I’ve worn Chanel since I was 16 and I’m now 61, my collection is extensively large & cost a fortune but it’s a real passion for me! I absolutely adore the feeling of smelling beautiful 💚
Out of the three, my current favorite is N18. What an exquisite scent! Unique and versatile at the same time. I still need Boy in my collection but for now Jersey fills that lavender crave.
Great point about liking what we have or just leave it. I've heard so many times people complaining about Sycamore's reformulation and bashing the current EDP version. I never got to smell the EDT and I like Sycomore as is right now. if there's no way to get the older version what's the point of comparing right?.

Bought my wife the large bottle of Gardenia. Chanel is always a much better buy the bigger the bottle. If you like the smell of gardenias you’ll love this fragrance.
I would say it is depending on your preference. I have all three of these but I would go with the No. 18. It's very sophisticated and can be worn all year round.
I'm not much of a Chanel girl but I love Coromandel and Sycomore. Cuir de Russie is also very nice. Also, N°19 Eau Verte from their classic line is interesting !

To be honest I do not like any of them mentioned. I love Cuir de russi, Bois de iles, Misja, Jersy, Gardenia, N22, Bel respiro, 1932, Beige and coromandel pure perfume.
I have a sample of sycomore and it smells like a nice formal fragrance. I smelled coromandel and boy. Don’t really remember, but I think I liked coromandel better.
I think if anyone was selling samples of these professionally Chanel would sue them. They are pretty uptight about that. So you'd have to find someone willing to decant from their own collection. :)
Fougeres always remind me of my dad, though I don't necessarily see them as my own signature which tends to lean more woody. Still, I would probably go with Boy first, and Coromandel second.

I have Boy simply because it’s my nickname, Sycomore because of the wet vetiver note, and Biarritz for a personal connection. Will getCoromandel next. As a side note, my late mother wore only Chanel No. 5 and Shalimar.

Hello Sebastian, just want to first say I love watching your videos they are incredibly descriptive which is very helpful. However I’m really new to the “perfume” world and don’t know much about them. What I mean is the basic components of a perfume (e.g. I notice you mention top notes and body and other terms; forgive me if I mix up terminology). Another question I have have is what is the difference between a EDP or EDT, musk? or other types of fragrances. As you might notice from my questions I am truly novice and am wondering if you would do a sort of “Beginners guide to the world of fragrances” something along those lines. I’ve explored other videos but I like how you are much more descriptive and go more in depth when taking about perfume. Or do you have a video like this and I just couldn’t find it? I have the discovery set which has been great for testing before purchase, although does not include 1957 and Boy. So far I bought the FB of No 22 , 1957, Bois Des Iles (my absolute favorite) and sycamore ( addictive) . Adore them all. Coromandel smell a little like damp basement on me not sure why and can’t quite get past that. Love boy and no 18.
Very frustrating concept, come on Chanel get it together:) The only one must have for me from their exclusive line to me is Cahnel 1957...Don't care about Boy...but there are some others that are nice. Cheers!

Coromandel and sycomore are like first cousins. They both are similar yet different directions.
1932, Jersey and 31 rue carbon are my favorite out of the exclusif
Cuir de Russie, Eau de Cologne, Jersey and 1932 are really good from the les exclusif line but also hard to find in a normal local store.

I have Gardenia EDT from 2009 and love it. Coromondel to my nose has a mouldy smell..

The only thing similar to Linstant De Guerlain is the patchouli! Nothing else.

Why do they reformulate a fragrance that’s already been made
In this case they wanted to make them all EDPs. Other reasons do exist one being regulations for using certain ingredients, cost etc. :)
