- Survival Beach, Puerto Rico | Hike to a Secluded Beach with Caves
Curious about how difficult it is to visit Survival Beach? We made the hike from Surfer's Beach to Survival Beach in Puerto Rico. It starts out as a peaceful stroll but does get to rocky and steep areas. We took extended video footage along the way. We stopped to take in the views and spent significant time around the caves. Definitely a must do for adventure seekers in Puerto Rico.

Our family was stationed at Ramey AFB from 1971-73 (was supposed to be 4 years, but they closed the base). We would go up a big hill, through the fence, then down a very steep hill/cliff down to the beach where the big rocks are.
That sounds like a pretty amazing memory! We would love to have been able to see what the Aguadilla area was like back then.
I sooooooo wish I saw this video before I did the 45 minute hike!! Omg it’s nice but the hike! I died 12 times getting there
😅 well we are glad that you recovered, and we hope the beauty of Survival Beach made it all worth it!
you guys are really brave, thanks for sharing.

Hi and thanks for stopping by. So sorry it took us so long to respond. Today I realized we didn't get notifications for comments from about a month ago and are now catching up. We've subbed to your channel too. Thanks for the support!
@@Explorcation No worries. We'll support each others channels.
How do you know what direction to go? I have a house in that area definitely want to visit that beach next time I go
We followed the instructions from this sight, and they got us there without any troubles! www.puertoricodaytrips.com/survival-beach/
how long was the hike each direction?
I would say 15 to 20 mins each way.
How long would you say was the hike?
It was around 20 minutes or so, but I was also in flip flops, so not moving very quickly 😅
@@Explorcation 20 minutes from Surfers beach parking to Survival beach? I have a 8yr old who can hike okay, will this be any difficult?
Hi, yes it was around 20 minutes, but your second question is a challenging one for us to answer. We did the hike 2 years ago and have not been back to know the current condition of the trail. When we were there the tide was in so we had to follow the trail up and over a rocky area and coming down from the rocky area was steep with loose rocks. I wish we had better feedback for you. We appreciate you watching :)
My recommendation is to always get a guide going to these places, many tourists have died just innocently exploring. That area is really dangerous to anyone who doesn’t have experience, the waves can get really high in a split second and the rip currents are deadly. I know, I’m from Arecibo and have surfed up and down the north coast of PR. Just be careful and explore with people who know. Also don’t be so naive and go to these places if you don’t check with some of the locals, there are criminals there that will make you disappear.
We appreciate the recommendation and are thankful we had no problems during our adventure. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment,, Alex.
Lol
Looks dangerous
It sure could be if you aren't careful!
