Hi and Welcome to RoadTales. Please remember to Go to Settings, Quality, and select HD Video for the best viewing experience! Thank you so much for your support!
May I say you have done an unsurpassed job with this video detail for winter travellers who like to snorkel. I have searched RUclips and your video is the only one with such helpful details. You have saved hours and hours for us, once we get there, in trying to seek out the best, calmest places without wasting the day driving around looking for them. Wonderful video, thanks.
Playa Sucia is amazing one of my favs. Just only go there with an suv or truck lol. Also , a beach that absolutely should be on the list is Playa El Combate :-) ( end of carretera 3301 in cabo rojo ) Waist high for a way out in the water and not alot of current so great for the kiddos. Boqueron beach is beautiful , alot of parking but if you cant walk far its difficult for older folks or those that have health problems that make it hard to walk long distances : -) I have lived here over a decade so i kinda have experience. Love the drone footage - amazing
Hi! Yes, definitely need a suv to get to playa sucia. Combate is very calm and chill, it's a great option too! Great point with accessibility to older people, you are totally right, very sad that I've seen a trend of inaccessible places for handicap or older population, we need to take note and raise our voices on that one! Thank you so much and hope you keep in touch with us!! Feliz fin de semana!
This is excellent - we love the commentary and the drone shots showing the aerial perspective are incredible. I'm amazed that you found so many great spots. Puerto Rico is a paradise, and you are doing an excellent job highlighting its beauty. We are looking forward to the next video! ❤❤
Great list and beautiful drone work! It's always hard to make a list like this because there are just so many great beaches. One note on Rincon: Corcega is not really connected to the Balneario. The two closest beaches to the balneario are Dona Lala on one side and the Marina on the other. My favorite place for swimming in Rincon is the Marina because it's nice and soft waters like the balneario, but more beautiful and palm lined. It's also next to 3 Palmas (Steps) so you'll see more fish. The only downside are the occasional boats that come in and out. But we have caught random awesome rides on boats that way too! Also, you need to check out the south coast for some super beautiful and safe swimming beaches such as in Guanica and Patillas. We just went to Playa Santa and La Jungla in Guanica and loved them! And really any official balneario is a "safe" beach as they are designated for swimming.
Hi! Yes, it's very difficult to make a list since there's so many incredible beaches in PR but well, I guess it's a great way of getting different point of views and learning about new places to visit!! We visited la Jungla but the water wasn't that clear, the crowd was kind of wild with loud music and the parking was super full. Actually, we love Guanica's beaches but they tend to be a little murky due to the manglares. I remember when the AELA building was open to business I would spend a lot of weekends in playa Santa but almost drown because I was kayaking and was just relaxing (not kayaking lol) and the waves and current took me way off the coast and then a wave sank my kayak (my fault, was a river kayak) spend 45 minites floating until some fisherman save my bum...life awakening experience 🙃 😅. Natalie Love steps, and she used to snorkel there but rip currents are kind of strong this time of year.. maybe we need to just go and spend a weekend going around in Rincón and it's beaches. We planned on doing just that and staying in Cabo Rojo but we had personal situation that made us cancel our planned vacation, but soon, we will be visiting and staying for a few days! Take care and have a great week!
@@natalieandgabriel Yep so many variables! Time of day, time of week, time of year. I love Buye for the reasons you listed, but find it to be way too crowded and loud too (hint: there is a deserted beach to the side of it though that I loved that connects to Villa Mela). When we were at La Jungla and Playa Santa it was practically deserted in comparison with Buye so that's why I mentioned them as alternatives. Sorry about your kayak experience! And yes, there are like at least 15 beaches in Rincon alone! You'll also love the Balneario of Anasco. Even though it's abandoned it's sooo beautiful!
Thank you for this wonderful video. Just returned from escambron beach in San Juan and it was great! Calm clear water, great for snorkeling. Lots of shade from the palm trees and great views of old city. Saw sea turtles and iguanas as well! Spent a week there, want to go back already.
We are so happy to hear that you had a great experience and enjoyed the video! Puerto Rico is full of beauty, Forest, mountains and of course, beaches!! Give us a shout when you return!
Great video! Lots of work to put it all together! I would love to be in one of those beaches, there’s a winter storm outside right now 😅 cheers from Norway! 🥶🇳🇴
Hi!!! Thank you so much for your support! Winter storm, omg, I bet it's a harsh winter. I saw your last video my friend, i don't know how you can go and ride your bike on that snow, and most amazing, you make it seems so easy! You are a pro!
Hi Omare!! Thanks for your comment! Come visit Puerto Rico sometime, you'll love it!! Norway is so beautiful - it's so cool that you live there! It's on our future travel list!! Happy New Year!
I agree with your 10 out of 10 pick in Cabo Rojo! We went there a few years ago and had a whole section of the beach to ourselves. It was excellent. Very calm and crystal clear water. Will definitely return in the near future.
Excelente video!

I went snorkeling at the Escombron Marine Park, not far from San Juan. It’s a beautiful; calm beach, great for snorkeling and a knowledgeable staff that cares for the environment
Yes!! Escambrón is a great beach to snorkel. It was the first place I snorkeled in PR when I moved here 9 years ago so it has a special place in my heart!
Another great and informative video by Natalie and Gabriel. Its a good thing that you alert tourist about water clarity for a good snorkeling experience. The fabulous aerial views are much appreciated. I'm from Isabela and can't wait to see you cover our seven beautiful beaches. I'm making a list of the beaches you cover that I have not gone to. They are beautiful.
Thank you so much! We would love to do a single video about beaches in Isabela, It's one of Natalie's favorite PR places. When you finish your list, please share it with us, so we can plan and visit! Once again, thank you so much!!!
One thing i noticed on a couple of the more hyped beaches, Steps and Domes, was that there was a lot of jagged sharp rock at the waterline making it very unsafe for most people. Surely not a place for kids or body surfers like me. Playa Buye is great with a very nice vibe. Sucia is spectacular but I would love to go back in the winter, when I think the seaweed will be much less of a problem. We were there last June and the beach was pretty much covered. I hear it is much worse in the summer and better in the winter. We love your videos.
Saludos! We love Manati, in fact, is one of our favorite places to visit, we even made a Tortuguero mtb trail video! In our latest Puerto Rico video, we included 2 Guanica beaches, Jungle beach and Manglillo. The only reason we didn't include them in our Top safe beaches vid is bc during the winter, the water is very murky and gets very crowded, but still, lovely beaches and an amazing area! PR is full of wonderful places for everyone! Thank you so much!
Hi! Waters in Puerto Rico are warm all year 🙂 Monserrate is open in December but may be closed a few days for Christmas. If it's closed you can always swim behind the Kioskos (just don't go too deep.) Have a great trip!!
Great video…!! I live in the north east coast. There is fish in Balneario Monserrate in Luquillo just find a spot less crowded. You can also enjoy the large population of green parakeets (they sound and look like the puertorican parrot) in this beach. They have gazebos and a handicapped area.
Natalie loves sea critters, I'm more scared of them lol.. When we are recording, I'm always trying to keep close to her and I usually let her do the Underwater shots, lol
We featured Nihon on a recent Puerto Rico Video!! We love Nihon!!! Hope you have a chance to watch that video. Its called Puerto Rico Top destinations and Experiences
Hi, thank you so much for watching and your suggestion!!!! Playa flamenco in Culebra is Gorgeous, we have 2 videos in our channel of Culebra beaches including Flamenco, we love Culebra ⛱️ The reason that we didn't include them in this video is that we gather some of the safest beaches considering rip currents, speccially during December- February in the north coast, vieques and culebra and they have strong rip currents during those months. We actually live here in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Natalie's been in the Island for 9 years playing for la Orquesta sinfónica de PR y yo soy Puertoriqueño!!!!! 😃😃 Muchas gracias 🙏
Saludos
Hi! Mar Chiquita is a beautiful beach, and we actually featured Mar Chiquita in another video we have on our page, but we tried to show the safest beaches all year around. That is the reason we didn't include Mar Chiquita on our list. Thank you so much
Hi, we actually went to Jungle Beach and playa Santa in Guanica during those days, and the water was very murky, that was one of the reasons we decided not to include them in our video, yet, we featured Jungle Beach and Manglillo in a more recent video since we love Guánica. We used several factors including parking, crowds, murky water and sargaso. Thank you so much for the feedback!
Thank you for your amazing videos. I hope all is well with baby! She is so sweet! I was wondering if you could tell me how far out I would need to go to see the sea turtles at playa puerto nuevo?
Thank you! Swim to the left almost all the way to the corner where the swimming area is marked off. Careful though because it is winter now and there can be riptides. It isn't very deep though. It's the grassy area.
Hi! Thank you so much, we appreciate your comments and support! During our filming days, there was a Rip current advisory for vieques and culebra (for January) and the marine currents were stronger than usual so we tried to just show those who are pretty safe all year around, specially during the winter. We do love Vieques and aculebra, my favorite beach in Puerto Rico is Punta Arenas. We actually have separate videos for Vieques and Culebra. Gorgeous and u ique places!! Thank you!!!!
Hi. Love your videos!! I'm coming to Puerto Rico Sept 16-20th with my Children and we are trying to look for a place on the beach but with clear water and one that is swimable not rough... That is kinda hard for me as I'm trying to figure out the best beach for this on the same side as San Juan. Do you have any suggestions? Any would be helpful!!
Hola! Thank you so much! 😃 if you have a car, the best bet for a calm safe beach with clear waters would be balneario Puerto Nuevo (the natural pool area) its safe. It has bathrooms and parking and it's only 45 minutes from SJ. The closest safest beaches in San Juan would be poza del escambron and la Playita del Condado both super close to old SJ and Condado Area. Driving west, you can go to Luquillo Beach, but it's about 1 hour drive. We hope you have a wonderful time while visiting PR. If you need any suggestions or have any questions, feel free to contact us! We are here to help 😀
Close to Ponce you can visit Cabo Rojo and Guanica. Guanica has mangroves and is very calm and beautiful. You can also go to Lajas (LA Parguera) and visit one of the small island cays via water taxi. They are gorgeous. At night you can visit the bio bay. Beaches.. would say balneario de Boqueron, playa sucia and the salt flats, combate..combate.. in Guanica, Jungle Beach... Lajas, LA parguera, Cayo Mata la gata.. those are some suggestions for the south, Ponce area...!!!
Nice video report of these beaches in Puerto Rico. I wonder if Playa El Combate in Cabo Rojo (or near Cabo Rojo), Playa Jobos in Isabela and Playa La Sardinera in Hatillo were also given consideration?
Hi Pedro, thanks for sharing your ideas! Yes, Combate was considered because it does tend to be pretty calm. I think Playa Jobos may have some strong currents in the winter. We actually haven't been to Playa Sardinera - is it nice?
@@natalieandgabriel thanks for your reply. Playa La Sardinera in Hatillo is also very calm because it's totally surrounded by rock formation. It's a giant natural pool with good water clarity and most of it is shallow (not very deep). All year round. Keep doing these informative and entertaining videos. PV
Hi, even though we love Crash boat Beach, we made this video taking into consideration several factors, including and, most importantly, safety during winter months. We do have another video featuring those incredible beaches!! Thank you so much!
Hi! Mar Chiquita is very beautiful, but it can be quite rough during winter months. Definitely worth a visit but we wouldn't consider it one of the safest beaches in the winter!
Hi, the one that you are referring to is Crashboat in Aguadilla? If that's the case, the only reason we didn't include it in this video is bc it has heavy rip currents during the referenced time for these options. We do have that beach is some of the other videos (5 day itinerary) for gorgeous beaches to visit in Puerto Rico!
Hon, I hope you do voiceover. Be a waste of La-te-da (God gave you) if you didn't. We are coming down this May to see if we could move there. We promise to open a vegetarian taco stand!
Hi!! We agree Playa Flamenco is one of the best beaches in the world! In the winter it is important to be safe in Playa Flamenco, because there are undertows and sadly some people have had accidents in recent years
Playa Sucia is not the real name, is Playuela. The reason people call it playa sucia (dirty beach) is because certain times during the year the currents brings to the shore trash from the vessels on international waters. Remember this the farther south west corner of the island where the Caribbean sea and the waters of the Mona passage collide bringing all the trash to the beach like a vacuum. Sometimes you can find russian plastic containers, onions, etc. Still is one of the most beautiful beaches in the island. The day you went it was not one of the best. Normally it doesn't have any trash or algae (sargassum), just pristine clear water.
Hi! Seven seas is beautiful, sadly, when we visited different beaches for the video between Jan and Feb, seven seas was full of sargassum, making it hard to swim or even play in the sand. Also the underwatwer visibility was poor. We used diffrent categories to determine which ones we believed where better choices but certainly, seven seas is a great beach to visit. I remember that my dad used to take me there when I was a little boy and we stayed in camping tents the whole weekend, it's one of my favorite memories! Thank you so much for your comment 😊
Hi! Playa Flamenco is beautiful but during the months of Dec-Feb Noaa issues rip tide currents reports and classify the north part of the island including Virques and Culebra as Red zones, meaning, they could be rip tides that could make them unsafe. We tried to gather all the safest beaches all year around in our video. Still, we do have 2 Culebra videos and we included beautiful Playa Flamenco on those videos!! Hope you can check them out! 🙂 Thank you 😊

We featured Nihon on a recent Puerto Rico Video!! We love Nihon!!! Hope you have a chance to watch that video. Its called Puerto Rico Top destinations and Experiences
Preciosa mi isla p.rico me encanta
The Enchanted Island 😃
La isla del encanto!! Bello Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Nick and I saw twice and on different occasions, 2 manatis; one albino” and a brown gray one!
Wow that’s amazing!! Manatee encounters are such a life changing experience!!
I know this video is older, but have you since been to Icacos Beach? That’s #1 for me, and I recommend it to everyone.
what’s the best way to get there?
You need to go to Playa Flamenco when you go back to PR, you won’t regret it
Hi, thank you so much for watching and your suggestion!!!!
That One is Playa flamenco in Culebra Puerto Rico.
Saludos
Pasaremos por su canal a ver! Gracias!!!
Forgot Mar Chiquita beach in Manati, Puerto Rico, after you see this beach you'll think again who's the number one beach in Puerto Rico. Thank you.
Hi! Mar Chiquita is a beautiful beach, and we actually featured Mar Chiquita in another video we have on our page, but we tried to show the safest beaches all year around. That is the reason we didn't include Mar Chiquita on our list. Thank you so much
She left out the beaches of Guanica in the south some of these beaches the water is smooth as silk in winter time.
@@natalieandgabriel thank you so much! We won't be there till June. I'm trying to plan out as much as I can!
Is it possible to use the publico to travel to the beaches in the south?
Or can rental is the only option?
Any nice beach near Ponce?
Gracias!
Can't rely on "públicos" anymore, you definitely need a rental. Uber? I don't know, really. Ponce? Look the answers to Jamie Goodwin's below.
Excelent video! 👍🏼 but it did not includes Vieques or Culebra!
@@natalieandgabriel Thank you so much! Is the best beaches down by ponce? Well on that side? I'm trying to talk my husband into going all over:)
May I ask off of your experience and knowledge why Crash Boat was not included in this list?
Hi good question! We did not include crash boat because it can get some very strong waves and currents in the winter
PV
Thanks for the info and your support! We will schedule a visit to Sardinera! Sounds awesome 👌
You missed Play Crash Boat, Shaks Beach and Jobos
Hi, even though we love Crash boat Beach, we made this video taking into consideration several factors, including and, most importantly, safety during winter months. We do have another video featuring those incredible beaches!! Thank you so much!
Playa Mar Chiquita in Manati should have been in this list !
Hi! Mar Chiquita is very beautiful, but it can be quite rough during winter months. Definitely worth a visit but we wouldn't consider it one of the safest beaches in the winter!
)uquillo is on the east
We have been to many of those but im surprised Shipwreck Beach didnt make the list. Very popular and great food vendors
Thank you so much!! Veggie taco stand! 🌮 yay! Let us know if you open it, we would love to visit 😊
The last 2 are okay but the best beach hands down is not in PR but in Culebra, playa flaminco.
Thank you for the valuable information!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!
Thank you!
You missed the safest beach of all. Seven Seas in Fajardo
Thank you so much for your comment 😊
flamenco culebra?
🙂 Thank you 😊
English translation - Dirty Water 💧
ROMPE OLAS, AGUADILLA.
Who goes to el morro and doesn’t record the inside 😒
The real name of this beach is Playuela not playa sucia.
the sunscreen comment is not accurate, mineral sunscreen is reef safe
Playa Buye does not have Life Savers
Excellent video, thanks!
Thank you so much!! Have a nice weekend!
