    Actually you don’t need a real ID driver’s license to go to Puerto Rico. You’ll only need one beginning may 7, 2025. The Puerto Rico government is spending millions of dollars to let people know about that. Whatever your immigration situation is, if you have a REGULAR driver’s license, you’re good. I work at an immigration law office and I know many many people in different immigration situations that went there and it was all good.
    Another note is that a Puerto Rican friend told me that USCIS officials oftentimes would ask for your passport because they don’t even know that it’s not a requirement. You just tell them that Puerto Rico is a US territory and you’re good to go.

    Liquillo Beach Beach is considered to be one of the best beaches in Puerto Rico. Then there's Crash Boat Beach and Combate Beach in Cabo Rojo. Also there's Aguadilla Beach in Aguadilla. You can visit the beaches in Arecibo where there was the biggest Radio Telescope. You can even go horseback riding. You will see people riding on horseback in the streets of Puerto Rico especially on the highways.

    Thank you, Brik, for sharing a detailed list of things and ways to travel in Puerto Rico. I have not been there since I was 11. Back then it only took 2 hours to get from New York to Puerto Rico on Pan Am airlines, but now it takes almost 6 hours. I am now 60 years old and would love to know where my grandparents/great grandparents are buried.

    I was in Moca in 2020, just before Maria hit the island. The weather was gorgeous and honestly, the only problem we had was that GPS wasn't the hest. We ended up in the winding roads of the mountains and lost for at least an hour. Stay on the main road and never go into the mountains especially at night. No street lights and dangerous roads with no railings.

    • @BriksTravelGuides
      @BriksTravelGuides  Год назад +1

      Hey!! Definitely, the mountain roads can be pretty intimidating at night and in general. No illumination, some locals know these streets so well that they go flying up and down these roads which can be stressful. However, I hope that doesn’t deter anyone from visiting the municipalities in the center mountain region of the island. They’re some of the most charming and naturally beautiful places on the whole island. 😍🙌🏼🇵🇷

    Is digital payments popular in stores there?

    • @BriksTravelGuides
      @BriksTravelGuides  7 месяцев назад

      Hey! It’s way more popular now after covid because of contactless payments. My general perception is that 80% of places accept some sort of digital payment method like Apple Pay or contactless cards. There might be small vendors that accept a payment method called ATH Movil, but that is only reserved for Puerto Rico bank accounts.

    1. quisiera saber si en Puerto Rico es más común usar el sistema métrico internacional o el sistema estadounidense de medidas?
    2. allá se pueden conectar los celulares Xiaomi al sistema de telefonía. la última vez que fui a la Florida, no me funcionaba mi celular, pero de pronto allá sea diferente.
    3. adicional a Uber, funcionan otras apps como indriver o didi?
    4. existe la posibilidad de alquilar una moto en vez de carro para recorrer la isla?
    (soy algo preguntón pero se les agradecería cualquier información que me puedan dar ^^)

      Hola James! Gracias por comentar!
      1. Se usa el sistema imperial (USA), aunque las autopistas están en kilometros y los precios de gasolina en litros. Es un poco extraño 😂
      2. No estoy seguro, honestamente. Puede que no funcione ya que muchas de las compañias moviles son similares a las de USA, pero puedes verificar.
      3. El único ride sharing app que funciona en PR es Uber y solo funciona en el area metropolitana. Te pueden llevar desde el area metro a cualquier lugar de la isla, pero no vas a poder usarlo de vuelta.
      4. Creo que hay rentals de scooters/vespas pero no estoy muy seguro. Seguramente esa opción esta limitada porque los seguros serian muy altos, pero puedes verificar.
      (Disculpa que no tenga todas las contestaciones a tus preguntas 😅. Espero que te hayan ayudado algo por lo menos).

    • @BriksTravelGuides
      @BriksTravelGuides  Год назад

      Hey! I would say Toa Baja is not considered the metro area. If you’re staying there, I would highly suggest renting a car to get around. Additionally, Toa Baja is at least 40-45 minutes away from Old San Juan and Condado (the main truistic areas). If you are renting a car and if you’re planning to visit other areas apart from San Juan like the beautiful beaches on the north and north west side of PR, Toa Baja might be a good place to stay at.
