My family is from Puerto Rico and a couple of our personal favorite beaches on the west coast that you did not mention are Crash Boat and Playa Sucia in Cabo rojo! It has that beautiful picturesque crescent beach with 3 shades of blues in the water & wonderful hikes surrounding including one to a beautiful light house!
Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your favorites! We have heard that both Crash Boat and Playa Sucia are gorgeous as well. We really wanted to make it to Playa Sucia on our last visit, but we had read some reviews that since the hurricane the road to access it has been quite rough, and we had a rental car that sat low and didn't have 4 wheel drive. Have you been recently and know what the access it like? We'd still like to visit some day!
@@Explorcation I just went there two weeks ago in a Hyundai Tuscan and no real problem.. also the best part of the beach is at the other end upon initially entering it. Less rocks.. there was barely any people there. Plus you also have smaller rocky secluded beaches on the other side by the natural bridge with good shade.
I liked Cayo icocos and crash boat. Those were my fav but haven’t been to all so
Thanks for sharing, Juan! We stopped by Crash Boat a few years back before we had really started the channel and remembered thinking it was beautiful despite it being a gloomy day. Next time we're in PR we're going to try to get to both Cayo Icocos and Culebrita... as those seem to be the two most beautiful beaches that we have not yet visited in Puerto Rico. We can't wait!
Looping this video while I work in the studio. My grandmother was from Puerto Rico.
Thanks so much for watching 🙏 We didn't know your grandmother was from Puerto Rico 💕 Have you ever been?
This should be relabeled as beaches for the well maintained bodies. Most of these I would have difficulty getting there, but to try and convince a girl to come, I wouldn’t let her see this video. Try Boqueron beach, Playa Tuna Lighthouse beach, and Ocean Park beach. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed the hike.
Some of the beaches to require a bit of a hike for sure, but for us it's usually worth it as it leads to a more secluded beach feel. That said, we certainly do understand how some of these harder to access beaches would not rank anywhere close to the top of a less mobile person's top beaches list. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
I am a small content creator who is traveling to Puerto Rico in 2 weeks. I've been doing research on this trip for over 1-month and have watched a lot of videos on PR. This video is super well-done! I loved the thoroughness of your explanations at each spot plus you leave room for the viewer to decide what's best for them. Great content and new subscriber!
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment. We really wanted this episode to be helpful for others to decide where to go, as there really are soooo many great beach options, which can make planning a bit overwhelming. We hope you have a wonderful trip when you go. Let us know if there are any questions we might be able to answer!
As always, I loved going along with you to PR...what a lovely and thorough video! Looks like you had a blast. I'm def going to have to put Puerto Rico on my list. 🙂
Thanks so much for coming with us, Rhonda! We've yet to find a bad beach in Puerto Rico, and we hope you get to experience a few of them in person someday!
I just got back from PR and got great content for my channel. I didn’t get to make it to Vieques but love your breakdown of the beaches there. I will have to put it on my list for next time. Great stuff you guys!
Thanks! We hope you'll be able to make it back to PR soon and get over to Vieques. We're hoping to get back to the Aguadilla area for a surf trip this summer!
My husband is born and raised in Vieques. it’s such a beautiful island with amazing beaches.
It really is. I hope you guys are able to go back to visit often!
Survival beach looks beautiful ❤️ Always love a good hike and secluded beauty spot!
Thanks for watching :) Survival Beach is a good mix of beauty and adventure. I wish we could have visited during low tide to highlight even more of the unique beauty at Survival Beach. During low tide there is plenty of space to walk along the beach and it is very cool to walk into the caves.
Many years in the past I had several opportunities to visit Puerto Rico with some friends who really knew their way around. I was like, no thanks, I live on a Florida beach. I can see how I really missed out. The black sand beach is for sure worth adding to the bucket list.
Plenty of time to make up for it, Bob! Such a cheap plane ticket to San Juan from Miami.
the ebach looks beautiful
but looks quiet
beautiful view and scenery
There are so many beautiful beach options in Puerto Rico 💕 thanks so much for watching!
Nice!....makes me want to get ton PR now!...
You can probably already tell but we absolutely love visiting! Puerto Rico really has something for everyone - gorgeous beaches, a rainforest, delicious food....😁 thanks so much for watching, we hope you can plan a trip soon!
We've gotta know 😁 what were your favorite beaches on this list and why?
And if there are any beaches you would add to this list, leave those in the comments too!
Thanks for coming along to explore the many beaches of Puerto Rico!
Great picks. I will also recomend La Hacienda La Esperanza in Manati. There you can find 3 to 4 great spots. Also Caja de Muertos near Ponce and for adventure La Isla the Mona on the West.
Thanks so much for the additional suggestions, Roberto! We have not yet explored the Manati area and cannot wait to check it out!
Sooo many beautiful beaches there!! I definitely need to go back, but maybe not with Alan since he doesn't like the sun 😂
There really is! I feel like we'd have to spend a year there to visit all of them. And you can bring Alan... just buy him some really good sunscreen and a nice sombrero😂
the best beach from puerto rico is Cero Gordo you can actually bring a tent and spend the night threre
Thant sounds amazing! Have you done that before?
im from puerto rico
We love Puerto Rico!
I would recommend that you visit Boqueron Beach and "Playa Sucia" in Cabo Rojo and "Mar Chiquita" Beach in Manati, PR.
@@MyLoganTreksI understand your point, but for us (PR locals) many of the beaches mentioned in this video aren't on our top 10 list. By the way, I forgot to mention "Buye" beach and Crash Boat beach that are both awesome beaches on the west coast of the island. ✌
Thanks so much for sharing your recommendations, Loiza! Both absolutely stunning beaches!
The best beach in all latin america is in PR 🇵🇷🇵🇷💯
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Safety for tourists
We've never had any sort of safety issues at any of the beaches we've visited in Puerto Rico, so we never really thought to make that a criteria. Thanks so much for watching.
Planning a trip mid march, really concerned about the threat of sargassum on the shores.
Yeah the sargassum can be pretty unpredictable. We certainly experienced a bit of it on our most recent trip, but certainly not enough to ruin our trip. Puerto Rico is a big enough island that even if some beaches are badly affected, you can likely find others that are in much better shape.
Hmm, even though you briefly mentioned it almost at the end of the video you didn't visited what i consider one of Puerto Rico loveliest beaches with its calm as swimming pool waters: "Seven Seas Beach" in Fajardo. (You mostly visited Culebra, Vieques, and the north and west coast of PR, but on the south there also are stunning beaches!) 😊
Yeah, we did like Seven Seas and kind of did lump it in (along with Playa Calora) into Playa Escondida. We personally liked Calor and Escondida better than Seven Seas, but we could see why someone that doesn't wan to deal with that hike or really values amenities would prefer Seven Seas. We did spend some time on the south side of Puerto Rico in December but never did find any beaches that we really loved. If you don't mind sharing, what are some of your favorite beaches on the south coast? We'd love to try to visit them on our next trip to Puerto Rico!
Hmm, at the moment the one that comes to mind is "Playa Santa" (literally, "Holy Beach") in Guanica, but for sure there are more in Patillas and Maunabo, among others.
@@JERios-wv8lx thanks so much for sharing your favorites! I just googled Playa Santa and it looks lovely :)
Can you do horse back riding at Beach 10?
That's a great question but unfortunately we don't have the answer. Perhaps one of the Vieques FB groups would be a good place to ask?
How do they compare to Florida beaches?
That is tough. I'd say the sand on Anna Maria beaches and Siesta Key is still more powdery and white but the blue color of the water on some of the Puerto Rico is prettier. In general the Florida beaches will have more nearby amenities and more crowds, while a lot of the Puerto Rico beaches will be less crowded but have little amenities and are harder to access. It depends on what you are looking for in a beach experience 😊
hi can you take car to vieques from ceiba
Hi, some of the ferry routes out of Cieba transport vehicles. You'd need to make sure to book a time that is not passenger only. Also, if you are renting a car you'd want to check with the rental company to ensure they allow their vehicles on the ferry. Information on the ferry can be found at puertoricoferry.com
@@Explorcation thank you so much for the clear idea, really appreciate it :D
I would venture to say that these people have not been to Tortuga or Zoni! ...... Seven Seas as a top three? Really????? You lost me at that.
I would venture to say that you didn't actually watch the video, considering Seven Seas beach was not one of our top beaches 😂 We did visit 7 Seas Beach to access Playa Escondida (which is amazing), but we'd agree that 7 Seas Beach does not belong anywhere close to the top of the list.
Ok, so I did watch the video, but, now there's more clarification that Seven Seas was mentioned b/c it was your access point to get to Escondido. Seven Seas was actually one of my least favorite, hence my comment. Glad we are in agreement that it should not make the list as a "top Beach." Their shower facility was awesome though (very powerful!) Lol.. I've been to about 20 beaches, & quite a few in your video. I think Tortuga was perhaps the prettiest.
Great to know about the shower at 7 Seas Beach lol. Yeah we've had plans to try to get to Culebrita on both of our last two Puerto Rico trips, ran out of time on both. Next trip it's going to be a priority. We've seen lots of pics of Tortuga and it does look amazing.@@ryanwaguespack3611
