      @lunastarwater9856 Год назад +31

      Mmh not really it’s just they have more of a hanger type body so it doesn’t take away from the fit ofc It’s not all tall people but a lot of skinny tall people kind of give hanger vibes therefore good for the clothing bc the eye goes to the clothing and not the body

      @@RechargeKarwaDoBabunot really. A good body shape matters. However it is true that tall,skinny people give hanger vibes just like another comment about it. Just think about it. Shorter people look like people wearing clothes whilst taller models look like clothes exhibited on people

    It’s the same reason why most ballerinas are taller and skinner - aesthetic. Most high fashion runway designers aren’t looking for the body to distract from the clothes, they’re looking for a “post” or “hanger” to essentially make the movements and clothes stand out more - a shorter person technically takes up less space, which leaves less to showcase to the vertical eye. Clothes on a thin, taller person make us think we’re seeing more clothes, while clothes on a thin, shorter person make us think we’re seeing more person. High fashion isn’t about people, it’s about the artistry, just like ballet.

      The ballet part is VERY incorrect. Post Balanchine ballerinas are tall and skinny because that's the type of girl he was into, and he used those women in his company as his personal dating pool. Originally when ballet was about art, more women had curvier body types and height wasn't as relevant. Plus these days shorter female dancers are in🤷‍♀️

    it makes sense to a degree (only for runway), when you see all the models come out and suddenly there's a gap where a head should be, seems visually jarring. however just getting rid of height imbalances is a lazy way to remove a problem that could be solved creatively. i feel like this is a general theme in the fashion industry, for a creative industry, things sure could be a lot more creative

      The ballet company in NYC solved the problem by having the tallest model in the middle and it tapers at the end. So visually it appears they’re all the same hight

    • @kiki-hj4xw
      @kiki-hj4xw Год назад +23

      haha, because it wouldnt be a very good solution to the problem. either way, removing models is a lazy way to handle the problem. however, leaving the taller models on the runway is beneficial to the brand because the clothes “hang” better on them.

      Then they would have no job or future we could have all heigth as long as youre healthy and then like shortest ti tallest so their is no heigthdiffrence since it is gradual and therefore not noticable. Cutting tall models out in spite is not the sulotion and people are getting taller anwways wih better nutrition but on the otherhand only living on fast food nowdays people are growing up shorter again so maybe your way is the way to go

    It's because the garments have to fit as many models as possible. And most models are tall so if you have a short model you'll have to make alterations for her. Has nothing to do with the look. If you're short and have a great walk then you can be a model but it just makes it harder for the designer to dress you.

    It's because tall and lean people give off a more statuesque silhouette for the clothes. In Western civilization, height has been admired since the Classical Era of Ancient Greece and Rome. The statues of Greco-Roman gods and goddesses were always proportionately taller than wider, often serving as pillars. Even those from Ancient Egypt. This association of height with the divine can also be seen in Gothic architecture, where the columns are so tall, they look like they are reaching the heavens. Therefore, we associate a taller and more statuesque build with deities who are supposed to represent the highest form of beauty, power, and perfection. That's why trophies, like the Oscar and the Emmy, always have a majestic, tall, and lean human-like figure, hence, the why we have the term "statuesque." They have immortalized that image of beauty in our socities.

      The expected height for women in high fashion modeling is around 5'10 which is well above the average female. But surprisingly,
      men are also expected to be at least 5'10 but with sharp androgynous features.
      The max for modeling is usually 6'2 for both men and women. They want males and females around the same sizes.
