It's a little inconvience to open the gate every time you go in and out. We just installed a Topens gate opener on our gate and my wife, the official gate operator, is thrilled. We live near Seattle and she is so happy she doesn't have to stand in the rain anymore waiting for me to back out of the driveway or fiddle with the lock when it's frozen. Coffee please.

I have thought of you often because the heat has been so bad in your area the past week or so. The green you picked for the walls inside the casita is going to look wonderful. It is such a small space having a light color will help make it feel bigger. Try to stay cool and be sure to drink your water.
That Verde Green is deffinately the way to go. Cool on the eyes.

The raised beds look wonderful. That shade cloth is really helping! Great job Adali for helping when Ashley was gone. Good job Ada brushing the dogs. I hope you can get another outside stove so you don't have to cook inside and be more miserable in the heat. I hope the swamp cooler will help. I have always wondered how you guys can survive the summer in the Airstream. I can't imagine the heat there in Arizona. Too bad the filter for the swamp cooler broke. Trip to Tucson with Jett driving. That is a nice design store with the plaster pigment. Verde Valley looks like a nice color! Staining the concrete too! It is TOO HOT! My grandparents home was cooled using a swamp cooler. As kids we loved to spray the vertical mats (and each other) to cool off. Then take a drink out of the hose as we didn't worry about drinking city water back in the 60s and 70s. Those were the days.
I'm SO SORRY that you had such a rough day, persevering is the only way, sprinkled with some humor and laughter in the midst of the overwhelming moments, deep breaths and tomorrows another day.,.....

Drove a dodge voyager van, lot of hi way miles..had it fully serviced every 10,000 miles, turned over 400.000 miles...and still ran like a dream...
Its been 25 years since i lived in the desert but i can remember getting outside to work by 5 am because by 11 am you had to head back inside cause it was already over 100° and i could not handle the heat. Bless you all and yes, stay hydrated.
Now as to your veggies, your setup looks fantastic! We lived in a hacienda style house that had the central courtyard and that's where we had our beef eater tomato plants. Of course they were in the ground and not in containers but had enough shade and coolness provided to them there that they all grew up to 6 ft tall and we had the most beautiful and bountiful amount of tomatoes that we ever had anywhere. Im just not sure about yours being planted above ground, but with that beautiful bshade Im thinking your plants will love it!

And i e ho that i think the green color chosen will be great. Decades ago they did a color study to find the most calming color. They painted jail cells pink hoping that that would be a calming color for the inmates. What they found was that pink actually added to them being infuriated and more fights broke out while the cells were painted that color. However when they painted the walls green everybody mellowed out. So not only will it be a nice cool color it will also be a relaxing color.
