Simply brilliant, she did an amazing Job! Impressive how fast she learned the song to find her own way to play.
For the record, she did a really good job for not even hearing the song.
This whole album from Mastodon is amazing. It’s called “Emperor of Sand” and it came out in 2017. One of their best in my opinion. Right behind “Leviathan”.
I love her attempt to get an early listen.
I think she’d have fun creating some metal songs with musicians from time to time. I like some of the creative flares she throws in this and the Slipknot song. If she had the kit and knowledge of the song with other musicians, I bet we’d hear something we all enjoyed.
One thing for sure, this girl can drum her ass off. For this to not be her style of music and never hearing the song before she played exceptionally well.
Brann is an absolute monster - highly recommend checking out more Mastodon drumming stuff. If I can ever get to be as good as Domino playing Mastodon I will be a very happy man.
I Love Mastodon, but I love her too. Brann, of Mastodon, writes busy drum patterns. Poor drums. She did a pretty good job of trying to fill the transitions, etc. I'm sure that Mastodon had lot's of time to practice all of those time signature shifts.
I don't think she's uncomfortable with the genre, I think she's uncomfortable not doing it well.
@@Kasino80 I don't even think it's about not doing it well. She did great. I think it's more about the expectation of perfection. I actually really dig her take on it, and love her energy and enthusiasm.
