Alex Smith is by my standards the best yacht presenter. He is very knowledgeable and his stile of presentation is absolutely the best. However, this x80 is very charming boat and no wonder that is very successful. Now all I need to do is to start saving money as much as I can and in the next 1000 years I might have just enough money to buy her.
I really love the layout of this X80! I'd definitely have the extra deck level cabin and the bow hot tube. It's just an all-around great yaght for cooler or hot climates with so many enclosed spaces and still allows you to have more than enough places for enjoying the outdoors as well.❤
The layout was ok. I would switch out the dining in the forward main to the owner's cabin, especially with that great access to the hot tub, but that is just me. Thank you!
Stunning machine. I still prefer the conventional flybridge and I see absolutely no point in not having the extra cabin on the main deck rather than the (pointless in my opinion) dining area.
Its a far more successful design than the X95 which screamed charter boat to me . The 80 is much subtler , has more design purity and would make a near perfect private yacht. Really enjoyed the tour as well . The best I've seen on this boat !
Fanastic boat, great tour, love the fact you admit you don't know what a material is made from. I would have that forward position as a cinema, but with the ability to make the sofa into a bed, should you have ten guests on board
Gotta say Alex, you habe certainly improved since your beginning here. It helps that you habe a cameraman. Still not cool with you bashing the Aquila 32 though. Lol j/k. You are doing so much better than when you started.
I just love the introductory spiel that skirts all around the fact that the X95 was pig ugly...without actually saying so! What a diplomat :-) This new one is hardly a looker - like it wants to be an explorer yacht but couldn't decide.
I would totally spec that forward space as a fiifth cabin, but the issue is that you don't really have enough crew for that many if you are running a full boat. I mean, you can get by certainly, but long term usage demanding hihg levels of service. Not feasible. Been there, done that, literally have the crew shirt. I wouldn't go for this anyway considering the other option out there like the Sirena 78, but the Bering 77 or 80 would be my top pick and Numarine, Mengi Yay or VanDerValk all make excellent 80' or, around there, options.
Regarding the other builders. With the exception of VanDerValk and Princess I'd feel I would need to hire my own onsite (Technical) representative to be monitoring the integration and build.
Cracking tour and drive Alex……..🎉 I was prepared to dislike this, assuming it to be top heavy to the eye, but no……. It looks happy on the water…… the fit and finish is sublime, the accommodation is superb……. I would certainly want to expand on the forward “snug” on the main deck, tempting though a cabin would be. My only criticism was my desire to perv at the engines and drive…… and scope out the crew domain. Although, as you say, it echos its siblings in the range…. 🥳🇬🇧
Yeah, sorry about that Nick. I inspected (and was impressed by) both. But there was so much to look at here, we had to be pretty selective in what made the final cut. Just in case you're in any doubt, there's masses of space in the engine room and the crew quarters is extremely versatile. It's accessed from the starboard side of the swim platform and, although the test boat had a communal dinette, you can actually spec it for up to five crew.
@@alexsmith3945 Hey Alex, no need to apologise, my comment was simply due to a little disappointment but you did a brilliant job showing us around her otherwise 😁
Great yacht in general. The presentation of the dining area fell short of expectation. Maybe just missing chairs, but came across as missing something or needing more design changes in order to live up to it's potential.
Aren't they making an X110 or 115, something like that? Back when Superyacht Times used to put out videos, I thought they had mentioned something about that
Definite improvement on the pig ugly X95 but this still looks a bit awkwardly tall albeit half the price. Space there for a proper owner's office up front which is rare in an 80fter.
Saloon has A LOT of couches and space used for sitting around. I did not like it, needed to be broken up some instead of port starboard seating for 1000 people. Ok that strap between your legs has Got to be annoying on your balls !!! there, it needed to be said.
I’m sorry but even if I had the money…. I would not buy this boat, it’s just so awkward…and ugly. The desire to be different, so many rich people have no taste, so I do expect to see a few of them
Great tour of of a beautiful boat, the constant touching of every piece of glass was giving me the shakes though😂
Oh yes, I've been waiting to see the X80 trialled. Nice one!

Thank you for the tour Alex 😀Stunning yacht, toured by an expert. Thank you 😀

@@vijilant gym / office I understand but I’m sure the stabilisers are not good enough, even at Anchor, to play table tennis…love to have a go though.

I will stick with Princess. Most boats, unless a charter boat, will not run with a full number of guests. I would never charter my boat.
Regarding the other builders. With the exception of VanDerValk and Princess I'd feel I would need to hire my own onsite (Technical) representative to be monitoring the integration and build.
Really nice video, you've become really good at this Alex.
I would definitely prefer a 5th cabin even if I used it as a VIP cabin.
Brilliant! but you missed out the crew and engineering spaces.
Cracking tour and drive Alex……..🎉

Amazing yacht and great video, but please stop touching the glass!😂
Great proper presentation man!! Good on you ! Nick better look out😜
Amazing boat! But my favorite is still the V55 and the s66 one of those two is my ultimate dream
excellent presentation
Very interesting video.
A good review but no info of crew cabins or engine room ?

Who are these people that are so pretentious that a captain or crew walking thru the common areas is a problem? I bet they are a joy to be around.
I'm missing the upper helm ...Very disappointing
You forgot the crew accomondation

The lounge area is very plain and cheap where is the luxury at that price 😊😊😊😊
Very good layout...but the design is so plain and boooring.
Did they force you to wear the life vest? It’s so distracting 😂
He cant swim

San Lorenzo is much better
With the lack of fuel it's just a Med toy. Too bad as it looks nice.
Too bland but just my opinion.
just say no to political ads

Beautiful boat...
Dude, I keep looking at your gay life jacket……
Leave him alone! He cant swim
😂 tell him to stop touching everything. Damm finger prints everywhere
