I love how when on beam Tim is saying that "Aly has nerves, she's isnt sturdy", Shawn's like "Calm down, it's the first meet back. Everyone's nervy."
Ugh its like Tim Dagget is trying to get Shawn to say something negative about her...but Shawn is actually professional unlike him and doesn't exaggerate and blow everything out of proportion.
I love how Tim is trying to get some spectacular commentary out of Shawn but all she can say is how hard competition is and how intimidating Aly is, regardless all the flaws he loves pointing out.

i love how when Aly messed up though, she didn’t drop off the bars and quit, she got right back into the routine and kept going.

Shawn is one of the first people to openly disagree with those annoying judgemental commentators. Nastia needs to be replaced by Shawn, because Shawn seems so nice and honest.
+Ilise Angel I agree with you on the disagreeing part but Shawn really needs to up her speaking skills a whole lot before anyone's going to think about choosing her as a commentator. And no, I think it should be Tim Shawn replaces because he's the #1 commentator that should be replaced lol

And I don't see how Nastia isn't nice and honest. She's the best among her, Tim, Al, and Elfi. Elfi was good riddance. Time for Tim to be shown the door.
I disagree, shawn doesnt sit well with being a commentator due to that meek hesitating voice.

wow shes becoming a super star shes one of my favorite gymnasts right now and wow her bar routine really showed her strength and i hope she can perfect all these routines by nationals if she does shes gonna be a star
whats even funnier is that he is all great job on the vault when she had a huge step on the landing then he points out the tiny bobble on beam. i wish they had ppl who at least knew what they where talking about ooh they do he just doesnt let them talk

Shawn reminding everyone this is a qualifying/'warm up' meet..... It's ok if they are not at 100%. Heck, even Marta doesn't expect them to be at Worlds-level at Classics

I just get nervous when she lands that she might break a leg! It gives me chills them going so fast and the strength they have in their legs is unbelievable!!! Power to them!! Soooo amazing!!
Its amazing that she won with all the mistakes she made... Imagine how much of a gap there would have been if she hadn't made all the mistakes
Was she somewhat overscored? Not denying her skills, just wondering, as that happens sometimes.

@LMA629 It's the one time he has said something nice about a gymnast that hasn't won a title on something. Not to mention that Aly tried the amanar last year and it wasn't too pretty, but it takes guts to try it again at a meet. One last thing did you like Aly's 2011 music more than her 2010 music? I like the 2010 one, but I think it is a good thing that Aly is expressing herself with the new music.

@LMA629 The style of her 2010 music was like nastia's 2005 music, alicia's 2008 music, sam peszeks 2008 music. But there was something about aly's 2010 music that made me like it. I like aly a lot, but my all time favorite was nastia because 2008 was the year I got into gymnastics. But my all time favorite for 2011 is Mckayla Maroney then aly, jordyn actually falls at the bottom of the list for me.
nbc is getting a new announcer to replace tim dagget for the next olympics
Well, NBC did replace Elfie Schlegel with Nastia Liukin. Frankly I don't get the negatives toward Tim Daggett. He knows gymnastics, not only as an athlete himself, but a coach as well.
David Barnett i like his opinion too, but he should stop comparing everyone to simone. also, i wish nbc would show other gymnasts from lesser known countries more. they’re famous too!

@yorkiet99 Well I hate him too I mean when Shawn fell on bars he said. " She's not bending her knees enough" Well duh she's favoring her knee that is going through an ACL MCL and meniscus injury. I'M SHOCKED THAT SHE CAN EVEN WALK! She's trying her best but he won't accept it. He should be replaced!

This meet was an overall disaster. Nobody hit their routines the way they should've.

those commentators don't seem to like her very much.
that NBC comentator gets on my nerves he talks through everything and then he talks about her little bobbles but if Shawn or Nastia did it he would say perfect man that's amazing well done. then he sits here and says "she had a melt down" on bars if she had a meltdown she would be really upset and crying

the sport misses Aly - she and the rest of the girls were abused during this time period. It took it's toll on these girls.
Boring crowd, sometimes one needs the crowd to elevate the moment.
I'd like to see the announcers try and do what she can. Maybe that will teach 'em to be less critical over a tiny wobble.
she is def a power house but i find her to not totally finish her moves she looks a lil sloppy...but HUGE potential

@gabriellesgirl I Disagree about ALi, ALicia yes. ALi's vault is not pretty. It's hard, but if she did that at worlds she wouldnt get credit for it.
