Interesting to watch this routine from '11 and see her improvement on the landing. She now has much more power and grace in her routine. She's much better now.

@JohnPhilipSousa519 yea, i heard she's even upgrading to a 1.5 to double arabian tuck to punch front layout, and a dos santos pike to a punch front tuck/pike. absolutely amazing!

Ah, yes I didn't consider that she didn't stick any of these tumbles and that jumping out would take away a -.1 hop. Thanks for reminding me, TheGymSavant. Even still, this was Afanasyeva's final. In London, Afanasyeva was prepping a double layout + stag so the same thing could be said again about her in Tokyo. The "if" game isn't entirely relevant.
if she just added the split jump after her arabian double pike she would have won gold
@happyari13 I saw that particular training video but I don't remember if she did just a tucked double arabian to layout or a 1.5 to double arabian to layout. If she did, that would be simply incredible! Well whatever she does will be amazing, especially the Dos Santos to punch front. I don't recall ever seeing that done in combination!
