Chandler’s line about if Emma is still enjoying her nap in 2020 is even funnier now since we all know what happened that year. If only that year was a dream lol
What happend that year, the crazy mondialist governement played a bad quality drama named "covid" ? This is not something that should impress us. Those crazy satanists always come with something to mess up with us, people.
1:28 This just blew my mind for a second. Because I turned 18 in 2020. Emma is my age. The Friends characters are about the age of my parents. I mean, off course, I know this but while watching the show I often didn't realise how old it is. Because the characters are about my age but they are from a whole generation back in time...
I love how the comments are split right in half lmao half think the 3 are selfish for not wanting to be there, the other half sympathize with their situation, different strokes for different folks!
I'm curious to know what people think of this dilemma. Were Monica and Chandler in the right, or were Ross and Rachel justified in insisting they stay regardless of their weekend plans?
Rachel and Ross were in the wrong. You never have to have a birthday party on the day of, let alone for a one year-old who still needs naps. They were being weird about it.
@@madcal33 Thank you! Yes. I mean, have the party if you like, but to *force* people to attend it, let alone stay for longer than they'd prefer, even if they're your friends, just does not sit well with me too.
It was completely selfish of them, but also on point for something Ross and Rachel would do. just completely disregard what everyone else is feeling for their benefit
I'm glad everyone agrees because I found it rude and wrong of Ross and Rachel to force everyone to stay when they all had other plans. Obviously Chandler and Monica's weekend getaway was important to them. Exactly... Birthday parties can be celebrated on a different day, especially for a one year old. They don't have to be on the actual Birthday in my opinion.
Theyy were not in the wrong . 1st birthday is so important in every culture. I am from India and we don't celebrate any birthdays with thatt much importance but there's always some specific 21 or some day birthday according to individual culture that is celebrated very lavishly . My first birthday was a hige eveent but after thatt all birthdays were just my 4 family memebers and any friends if any . And its not like they didn't know . Everyone knows she is gonna turn 1 . Wby would theyy keep a vacation at thatt time ??
@@aditi946 Nobody has any right to demand others give up their lives for their benefit. Ross and Rachel are good depictions of people with a personality deficit called narcissism - that everyone is about them, and people have to give up their own pleasures for them. @@pamelastorer8570 Well than you wouldn't be a good friend. If you know a big event is coming up and you are still making plans on that day people have a right to be upset . @@aditi946 It might be the only time I have, due to other commitments to get away. I badly need a break, my marriage needs a small boost, and I'm a bad friend because I'm honest enough to be honest? How can it be better to stay doing something I dont want, resentful at my friends for demanding it, facing another Monday when I'm going to be tired, yet put on a good face and pretend to be cheerful, like all the other fakes America is so full of? No, I would be being honest, and insisting, that just sometimes, my needs come first, and that I have a right to tend to my own well being.
@@pamelastorer8570 And this is that sometime. Its an important event its not like her first birthday is gonna come again or its gonna last 10 days or so . They are just asking for one freaking evening . Theyy can fix their marriage and their life and make themselves happy literally any other day of the whole year and afterwards. When have Ross and Rachel ever before or after asked for their attendance ?? This is clearly important to them and I don't know how the writers forgot that Monica just loves everything related to babies and is suddenly asking to skip her niece's first birthday . Why are you behaving like theyy are doing it every single week and they aren't getting a break . Noone asked about your existential crisis . Tbh.... If my one and only and very first niece was celebrating her first birthday and it was that important for my brother, the least i could do is freaking postpone my plan for one day..😒 and not whine about it. They were clearly just wanted to get our and have sex... They can do that anytime they want for rest of their lives.. But it’s emma s first birthday.. Gosh.. So desperate for sex.
Monica and Chandler were so awful here. Emma's first birthday is once in a lifetime, it doesn't matter that she won't remember it. It's the first time, very important, and they are godparents! They are very selfish here. They can go on a trip a day later or even a few days later if they have a tight schedule, this is not a tragedy. But Emma's first birthday is only once and the memories of this day with friends and family will stay with them forever.
Oh yeah. Real selfish to want to take a vacation together that probably required planning ahead, scheduling with everything in life to make sure they had time to go for ONE WEEKEND just to themselves. It is so much more important to go to a birthday party for a one year old that's asleep through most of it and won't remember a single person being there. A day that's soooo much more different than all the other days the baby spent sleeping, pooping and sleeping. These special sleeps and poops. Seriously, the only selfish one were Ross and Rachel. I mean, everyone else made or had plans long before then. Why couldn't they ask everyone ahead of time to schedule the day for celebrating THEIR baby's birthday? No matter how close you are, your friends have lives outside of you and your baby. If it's so simple to reschedule plans for the next day or any other day, why couldn't they do the same for THEIR baby!?
It's also selfish to force people to attend a party for your own selfish reason. If I am the parent, I will just find a weekend when everyone is available that's close to the birth date.
@@djktsjytej Are you serious?? Monica and Chandler were wrong, period. But at the end of the day, this ridiculous situation was written here ofc for the laughs, it's a sitcom. So overanalyzing it is stupid because this situation was constructed purely for the laughs. In reality, this would never happen, in reality, they would all just talk earlier, and knew about each other's plans before. But IF we consider this fake, ridiculous situation, then Monica and Chandler know from the start when it's Emma's birthday, and the first time is important, and may I remind all of you, that Monica and Chandler are godparents, and they were very happy about it.
