    Good review! I had picked up my Timber X 1.2m back in March 2nd. Unfortunately I had crashed it on my maiden flight, and it can only take so much of a hit because I came in a little heavy and I broke the right landing gear completely off. It's a snappy little flyer though, really acrobatic.

    I just ordered a Timber X ...
    My concern is a few guys at my local club have had issues with their Timber's main gear, complaining it's a known weak spot.
    Since I have not yet received or assembled the plane, I was wondering if you might have a recommendation of how to strengthen this area , during the build and before I take it out to the field.
    Also, the field I fly from offers the choice of a very rough asphalt pad with a lot of cracks or an area of longish rough grass.
    Also I am a somewhat beginner pilot and would appricate any advise you can offer when I maiden it....
    Thanks ....

      @gisall8205 Год назад

      The guy's at the field are 100 % accurate with this landing gear. I referred to it as Tinker Bell, Glass Slipper landing gear. HORRIBLE DESIGN. WAY too narrow, and possitioned several inches too far back. That's why the vast majority of landings with this airplane drop a wing and nose over. Fly's like a King in the air, but every flight has a landing, where it's like threading a needle, just to land. I refuse to buy any more of the Timbers until eflite puts Bush Plane landing gear on their Bush Planes. Do yourself a big favor. Go to HOBBY KING and look at the Tundra's. FANTASTIC Bush Planes with Real Bush Plane landing gear. You'll be happy you did.

    Do you have a download compatible for a Spektrum DX6e transmitter?

    • @blackmesaresearch2
      @blackmesaresearch2 3 года назад

      I just completed mine manually using the manual that came with my night x. For a 6 channel TX, you must bind without safe (freeing up channel 5) then rewire channels 5 and 6 for the flaps. Finally, add the 3 mixes as outlined in the Advanced Transmitter setup section.

    • @Brian_Christensen07RC
      @Brian_Christensen07RC 3 года назад +1

      8-9 mins if you aren’t at full throttle and longer on 3 cell. But if you go crazy 3D with it than not like 5-6 mins.

    what do you mean "coupling" , that it didn't have good coupling. It wasn't align the same line? Just curious....i'd also like to have a plane that you think has good "coupling" , so just let me know of a good one...can't wait to fly this one and also one with the characteristics that you speak of and thanks so much for the video.

    • @rcgvideos
      @rcgvideos  2 года назад

      It just means when you knife edge, the plane will pull to one side or the other, or try to roll one way or the way. It won't lock in to knife edge flight without the pilot working to keep it there. That's where mixes come in too and it can be mixed to fly knife edge without needing extra inputs from the pilot to keep it there.

    • @gageinjapan5936
      @gageinjapan5936 3 года назад +2

      If you got it as a first plane I think you would spend a lot in repairs just learning the plane in general. I started off with a carbon cub s+ and in less then 4 months I’m flying a 1.5m turbo timber which is a great plane too, don’t recommend it for a first plane tho. I think the carbon cub s+ would be a lot better then spending 600+ for just the plane, controller, battery, and charger but hey if you got the money and time to read the manuals on how to set everything up then go for it!

    • @joem5639
      @joem5639 3 года назад

      Not as well as the X. If it’s 3D you’re after any Timber would not be ideal. I just picked up the Turbo Timber today. It suits my flying style better and makes a better STOL plane. I can also use it to train new rc pilots.

    • @AirKaos
      @AirKaos 3 года назад

      @@joem5639 I gotcha. Thanks for the reply. I kinda want something top-winged that can glide but also has a bad side. I miss my apprentice but want something a little more edgy now but still smooth when I want it to be.

    • @joem5639
      @joem5639 3 года назад

      @@AirKaos the turbo Timber is for more advanced flyers than the apprentice. It also uses 3s & 4s batteries so with 4s you would have the power to climb out of a hover. I saw in another video that the Timber fuselages are all the same so if you purchased a turbo Timber you can put a Timber X wing on it and have the best of both worlds.
