You guys are a savior to the RC world. With most of the parks closed in my area, which small RC plane would you recommend for a backyard or small grassy area to fly? Especially one that is durable and can handle winds up to 10 mph. Thanks again for all your RC reviews
They are really great. The are the only ones I watch on a regular basis. Both are very knowledgeable about all the planes they review. I believe they tell the real story about each plane.

As soon as I saw the wing profile, I knew it was going to be an awesome aerobatics plane! When you showed how much throw the control surfaces have further indicates an aerobatic design. But that touch & go is not what they mean by a "tail-dragger"! LOL! Nice flight!

I bought a Timber X after I got my wings with my apprentice. I love it. Forgiving yet fun and lots of room to grow with that plane.

Loving all the planes on the channel
I flew my original Timber with a friend who's got the Timber X a few days ago. The 4s turns it into a screamer while it feels relaxing yet underpowered with a 3s. I love performing landings into the wind, with flaps and some down elevator mixed in. Fun plane! -AW
Thought I remembered this review. Found one on a auction site for cheap. $66. I think it will be a good step up from my Aeroscout. Same batteries too. Can't wait.
Lol that was my first plane. Started flying 5 weeks ago and that’s what I learned on. I don’t care who you are, this is very beginner friendly!! Never gets boring. And it’s still in one piece takes off with no effort and lands with ease. Now I will say for the first 2 weeks I kept it mostly in safe. Now I’m like forget safe and a 4s pack and it will haul. I fly mine 1/4-1/2 throttle 10-12 minutes. But it will get you in trouble quick too. Half flaps 3s pack and it’s a doll. I slide my pack to where I can only see half of the battery. Just lands better to me and flys very very slow. Anyone who gets this will be happy. And if you want to haul then it will get down! Love mine.
What the best and easiest RTF trainer in the hobby world
My first one was the aeroscout s. That s my best one I have and its amazing. Hope it helps

I love this plane, thanks guys for making a video with it. I encourage you to make the flaps mix with ailerons, if you got 7 channels you can configure it in such a way that you can enable/disable the mix and enable/disable save. So versatile from apprentice to crazy 3D aerobatics love it

what would be the best next plane after just starting out on the Sport Cub S 2? Should I invest in a simulator first?
So my buddy bought a new turbo timber with a DX6e. Do you have a set up vid for flight modes and assigning the AS3X with safe select to a 3 position switch like the aero scout has? That’s what he learned on.

I'm sure by now you have tried it with the 4S battery it's a completely different plane it's amazing awesome power. One of my favorite moves as climate straight up high is almost as high as you can get it and right stick top hard left left stick bottom hard right and she will do the most amazing flat spin and helicopter very slowly until you're ready to pull out it really is a great effect when you have an onboard camera or even when you're a lady is filming at check it out hope to see that in a future video you're damn good pilot keep up the fun

In the timber x video where you crashed it, did you fly with the metal elevator rid or the carbon fiber rod, and or do use the one rod for all of your flights?

it can hover on 3s, but 4s is much much better. also its a great windy day plane with bigger packs i use a 3300 4s Zippy compact in mine. its been my fav plane since i got it when first came out almost a year ago now.
Please do a video on setting up and using those cheapo little lipo alarms!

oo also now that i have watched further, i also have a heavy payload with the wing and the gopro and all electronics inside the 3s zippy lipo i have isnt cutting it, can you recommend a slender 4s lipo battery that doesnt break the bank too much? i definately am going to need that 4s power to get some decent flight times, and just lift and control in general!

Hi Saylors, please if you have to choose between this plane and Carbon cub 2, what will you choose? I like the look of the Carbon cub 2, its bigger, it has rubber wheels, but you have to install flaps and purchase the flaps servo.

When I bought mine my maiden didn’t go so great. Took off got a big gust of wind and broke the landing gear off😂 nothing some good glue couldn’t fix though.

Would stepping up to the Timber X a huge jump in flight dynamics compared to the mini Apprentice?
I stepped up from the Apprentice S to the Timber x and I was able to fly it with ease. It is the kind of plane that can go crazy and do way more then what an apprentice could do but still forgives you pretty well. It has safe mode but even without safe mode it almost feels like you can always recover because of the large surfaces, great balance, and 4s power. I highly recommend it.
Any chance you can try out the new FT stem freighter?

a few guys at my local club have had issues with their Timber's main gear, complaining it's a known weak spot.
I was wondering if you might have a recommendation of how to strengthen this area during the build and before its taken out to the field.

A touch tail heavy don't ya think
I was out for about an hour driving my Outcast 6s and Talion. The Talion somehow lost the rear driveshaft dogbone. And the servo in the Outcast went out. Do I need a third car? When the servo went out it rammed my ankle bones at 50% throttle. OUCH! So now u have to swap the servo from Talion to Outcast so I have one working. Yeah Me.
I am very interesting in buying this, but I read some reviews that said the landing gear was very weak. Have you had any issues with the gear? Thank you in advance.

I’ve been waiting for so long for you guys to review this plane! I’ve got cars, trucks, boats, drones, etc. But I’ve been wanting to buy this as my first plane. I’ve flew planes before, just not my own. What channel transmitter do you recommend? That’s one reason that’s kept me from buying my first plane. It’s just seems like so much for the plane, batteries, and a nice transmitter. Anyways, some advice and feedback would be greatly appreciated as a first time plane buyer. Great video too! 👍🏼 TIA
I think they were using a 6xe but if you want full capability (flaperon mix) you'll need a 7 channel radio or better.

Could you do a video on programming safe into a tx. It’s not something that is intuitive. Great video by the way.
SAFE is programmed into the rx, the only thing the tx does is turning it on or off. And that is a little bit different depending on the model, so you need to read the manual for a particular that.
You are so lucky to be able to fly ATM. My club airfield is closed, & standing in my local reserve could get me fined. I could start a new trend, RC flying while jogging, to avoid being caught outside without a legitimate reason. I guess you can claim that that playing with RC toys is your job.
Or.....
...just be free.
Go outside. If they fine you, don't pay it. Then, if they jail you, either do a hunger strike or be a model prisoner. They won't keep you forever, but you must resist.
