For those looking to buy the Timber X model: 100% the best model I’ve ever own. It’s an airplane that can do a little bit of everything and do it well. 3D/hover, Bush flying, fly really slow, fast (on 4s, I highly recommend flying on 4s), and you can fly on floats. 2 things to watch out for over time. 1, with so much down elevator when flaps are down, the elevator/horizontal stab will scrape the ground before the main wings when the plane tips up on 2 wheels. 2, if you fly on floats the tail wheel will begin to rust quickly due to the wheel getting soaked when you fly on floats. Buy the airplane, you will not be disappointed

I've been scraping together my pennies for this for a few weeks, an it's now on it's way! I've also ordered the original GREEN Timber X stickers that I'll be replacing the red ones with, as I just like the bright green stickers from the original Timber X a bit better than the red.
I flew the CRAP out of my UMX Timber, nearly 100 flights before it just disintegrated from all the handling an repairs, an I've also owned the original full-size Timber when it came out. Easily one of my favorite series of planes, no matter which version you choose!
The Night Timber X will hang on my wall next to it's lit up brother, my Night Radian! More choices to fly in the evenings/dusk is always a good thing!

I love my Timber X and she is still going strong after 100+ hard flights but if i ever have to replace i will get this one, even tough i fly mine at night time already. the extra lights would help. I just picked up the X 1.2m during the recent E-flite sale ....asking as a fairly new pilot, if I install the wing slats, will it help me fly the plane a bit slower in the turns, without stalling , as that's a fear of mine.....I prefer STOL and slower flying, not aerobatics or inverted flight ......thanks

Hi Ryan! New rc pilot here and learning on a Volantex Sport Cub 500 four-channel plane (500 mm). I was thinking about getting the UMX Turbo Timber 700 mm so my son and I can both fly at the same time but then started thinking something somewhat larger like a 1.2 m plane like the mini Apprentice or this one might be nice mainly for visibility/orientation. Would the NIght Timber X 1.2m be too much of a step for a beginner? Should we stick with the UMX Turbo Timber? Mini Apprentice 1.2m? One thing for sure is this NIght Timber is HUGE! Not sure where folks store these beasts in their homes! One more thing... you mentioned attaching the leading edges to slow it down a bit. With the peel and sticks, is this a one time install?? And, do you only get 5-6 minutes flight time on this one like folks claim for the UMX Turbo Timber?

Interesting, I got one of these recently and mine pitches up way too much with 4S and steel rod. Had to go to carbon rod and battery pushed back as far as it will go, then it fly's much better. Otherwise, I had to use a mix with no flaps so from mid throttle to full there would be and added 8 or 9 percent down elevator put in. With the steel rod, it balanced almost 4 inches from leading edge of the wing. With carbon rod, it is right in the neutral zone (at least on mine it is) and not mixing required.
