My 3 major complaints for this game. 1. The kicking mechanic is a good idea but the meter needs to be slowed like 50%. Right now It’s way too fast. 2. The cpu gets way too many sacks where you rarely get one. 3. Inside run plays are basically useless. That being said, I am still having fun and think there is a great base to build off here. I would recommend the game for it’s price point.
I found that once I was patient and had an Oline that was competent I was able to weave through some great plays running inside. It’s challenging but I think it’s totally doable and makes the gameplay shine through when it happens.

If you want to see more sacks, try the Pass Rush roster. It's still tough to get to the QB, but the OL and DL are faster in that roster, and you might find it more within your reach to get to the QB. The unis are all different, though, so you might not like that.
At the beginning, the Switch version was set to speed 1.3.X or something, due to the initial performance stuff. That issue got fixed up with patches, with the patches expected to hit the *demo version* soon. There was some initial performance stuff on PS5, at release, as well. However, they’ve been really good at patches lately. Make sure to get the latest patches for any small bugs or performance upgrade. Given how they’ve been working on this game, it looks like it’ll have full parity across the board. Just note that this is their first foray on consoles, and they’re still continuing to patch and improve the game.

Two big turn offs for me are how difficult the game play is and the lack of a share feature for rosters/team designs. This game should be fun to play, not controller smashingly difficult with .5 seconds to throw the ball.
The presentation is so great!!! From the variety of the stadiums, camera men on the field and sideline, the fake products(Old Smell, Pony Ex), to the stat ticker at the bottom; they really did a great job with this game. Definitely reminiscent of Tecmo Super Bowl.
Half the teams in this already have correct colored uniforms. Sadly, half of them are also completely wrong and will take hours to correct it. They should PATCH THIS!

Never heard of this game. Looks good enough for someone who abandoned Madden almost a decade ago but $24.99 for this 2 year old game feels a bit much. Think I'll wait for a sale but thanks for making me aware.

I love Tecmo, but this one ramps it up with all the Franchise and customization options. I'm an old fart so will likely never play this but it seems cool.

The dev made it pixel bc it’s a indie game (pretty sure made by 1 guy) and it’s so they could focus more on the franchise side of things instead of gameplay and have a lackluster game, I can see how retro/pixel stuff can be annoying but it might honestly be better to give it a shot than the shit that EA puts out every year
Yep… RETRO bowl kills this although you dont play defense in Retro. In this game, all offensive plays run up screen, never down. Its weird. And no sideline. I really wish someone would bring PS3’s Tecmo Bowl to Switch. Tecmo Bowl on. Nintendo DS is also pretty good, nearly identical to the PC version. We need TEMCO BOWL on Switch!
@@supercommando440 actually punt returns run down the screen, I just bought it and so far it’s decent but the things that I don’t like are that you can’t manually trade, you don’t really sign people in the offseason it’ll sometimes give you a random player to sign on top of choosing which player for your team to resign while the other 2 players walk, the contracts during the season really are random, I’ve had a couple rookies ask for more money but I ran out of contracts to give out so I had to reject them and they were traded for worse players, and I’ve ran into a game breaking bug where the opposing team’s punter will get the ball to punt but then just stand there and you can’t tackle or move them so you have to quit the game, other than that and messing around learning how the game plays I’d say it’s pretty decent and it’s currently or it was on a little sale on switch for like $4-$5 off
I've been waiting for this to hit consoles. Looks fun. Fun is needed in the sports genre.
It's the only football game I know of where it's actually fun to play any position in defense.

On 1 I'm almost positive you can tailor the snaping mechanic to be slower. Tis really really easily changed!

No sadly but this game is fully customizable. You can make all teams and players look like the NFL.

Yes turn up the speed multiplier to 1.40 or 1.45 on switch. I heard on newer consoles it runs just fine default.

I’ve read you can’t. It’s disappointing and I wish it were like NBA 2K which allows you to import logos and share templates.
There are 80 plus logos to choose from.

They do. Many of them are inspired by the teams, others are a little different. But they're fully customizable. More than retro bowl.
