One of my favorite sports games is still MLB Power Pros 2008, especially the Success Mode. Such a fun replay-able game mode. I still remember playing it all summer one year as a kid.
It was amazing growing up and still holds up pretty well. The announcers are repetitive but the gameplay and story is still very good! 2007 with the college story was my preferred one but 2008 is good as well.
Hey NTE, you ever play the Quarterback Club games on the N64? I remember the one I had, I think it was '99, had a really interesting mode where you played historical moments in games. One of the toughest was trying to lead a Broncos comeback in that one SB they got smoked in.
@eduardopena5893 I love '99. Played it a ton when I was younger. Still impressed with thr visuals. When 2000 released, man was I disappointed. So many steps back
These devlopers must be dumb. They have the blueprints to make good arcade sport games via Blitz, Hitz, Slugfest and Street, yet they still manage to fuck it up. Theres no hope for AAA developers anymore.
I got startled flashbacks when I saw the font and shape of the menus. The fact that this is is basically a converted --Grounds game makes everything make sense, especially the art style and amount of unlocks.
Yeah, I saw this game and was hoping it was like super mega baseball, but for football. Then I saw all the MUT-style card packs and noped the hell out.
Unpopular Opinion: I would rather play Wild Card Football than Madden NFL 25 (2024) anytime of the day despite its flaws and problems that people have with it! I give it a 8.5/10! I kindly respect your opinion but I to strongly disagree on that even if you make some good points about the game in general!
I got this game just randomly a few months ago and it is one of the most games ever made. I didn’t expect much and I wasn’t let down. It was nice to just goof around with but that’s pretty much it
I actually really enjoy wildcard football I wish there was a better season mode but building your team and going through the single player stuff is fun and can be difficult
I think it's just low-rated versions of players that you have to level up to their real ratings. He also had a 50 overall Brian Robinson, who might not be a star but he's better than 50.
Appreciate the willingness to try new games, but this one isn’t doing it for me. Would definitely be down for some more NBA Street 2 though. Once you get a Gamebreaker 2, you’ll never look back. So much fun.
This game looks like it was made by AI. I’d also like to know why Colin Kaepernick is in this game. Wouldn’t they have to pay separately to use his likeness? I don’t get it.
How about Bad News Baseball for the NES? I would also suggest the original Baseball Stars for the NES as well. Baseball Stars from that era was well ahead of its time in some aspects as it gave you Create a Team options where you can select from several pre made logos and jerseys that were associated with the logos, you could name the team anything you like (only 16 characters) and you could name your players anything you like (only 6 characters). You could fire and hire players. As you played games and won you would earn money to sign the players to new contracts that would give you anywhere from 1-6 points randomly to power up your players any way you wished. The games controls are simple and easy to pick up. You could even climb the fence to rob home runs.
You need to go back... back to when football was football... when it wasn't just Madden this or Madden that... it's time to go back to the NFL 2K series (Dreamcast versions suggested).
I'm sure I'm an old man too, but I'm not really into the "opening packs" mechanic, either. If they're gonna hit me with microtransactions, at least don't hit me with RNG too and let me buy the players/skins/things I *actually want*
Yeah I was excited for this game, especially with a lot of content creators giving it high praise. Bought it on sale for $20 played for about 10-15 minutes and immediately refunded it. Trash.
No, you can blame Berman. Just like everything else he’s ever done, he shows up, adds nothing of real value, belches a few crappy catchphrases and puns, and then gets paid way more than he deserves.
This is actually the same game 2k was talking about they just didn't publish it but I like the game with the wildcards and clock off using points to determine wins on highest difficulty i only wish you could edit the base teams colors and edit team rosters but atleast we have another option besides madden and where is the 2k nfl game give these guys some credit for trying
Ever thought about Football Coach: College Dynasty? I play it all the time but it might not fit your channel exactly. It's a lot more about management than the action.
I’ve being curious about this game. For the longest time I wanted to make a new Blitz/NBA jam like game. But they seem to be against making a simple arcade sports game. They seem to want to make them too technical instead of making a simple pick and play game. That you can learn on about 5 minutes. I don’t even mind the loot boxes. But they keep trying to hard to make a cool game instead of making the game fun to play.
It's not you, Drew. The problem with modern gaming coming from the micro transactions and loot boxes is not only a problem because developers are greedy and uncreative jerks, but because there are those gamers who indulge them and actually purchase the in game content.
Another football game… and another one that can’t top the ole my career mode from Madden 06 where you could become an actor… seemed so simple back in the day but gah damn do I miss it
It just blows my mind how backwards any football game has gone in general, for me the two best still to this day were Madden 06 and 12 and they’re both over 10 years old and one is going on 20 years… it’s just sad

You should do a series playing those old "Madden Moments" mini games from 2009/2010

That was the one thing from the "absurd game mechanics" that I actually liked. The shifting winds in Chicago was pretty cool.

But battle grounds was good
Only difference is that 2K wasn't around to ram MT's down our throats.
