Oh, poor poor Eunice.. Mama's funny in the sketch, Vicki is marvellous!, but the character is in fact terrible.. manipulating by the talking, making others feel guilty, so that, in the end, they do what she wants. Plus, she doesn't see that what she says can really hurt like at 6:59. She reminds me a bit of my grandma, I love her, but she always says or does things in a way, or tells people what to do, so that everything turns out like she wants. Eunice is a good person inside, of course she's screaming, not always really nice, but in the end she always does things for the others.. Great writing job. :) I love Carol Burnett, she's one hell of a talented actress ♡♡♡
It's my understanding that these characters are based on Carol's mother and grandmother and their toxic relationship. A comedic reflection into generational dysfunction. Funny but terribly sad at the same time. Guilt is a parent's strongest weapon.
I was born with some sucky spinal problems! But the Lord must have seen fit to compensate me, with a quick, logical mind. On the rare occasion that my grandmother said or did anything to upset me, instead of letting me just take a few minutes or so, to get over it, as I was never one to throw fits, or be disrespectful, even while upset, she had a favorite line! That was "wouldn't you feel awful if grandma died in her sleep tonight, while you were mad at her?" I always did an reverse on that! Mama suggests she could possibly move in with “crazy Mrs. Boylen next door” must’ve been talking about Iola’s mother. She also called it with saying Eunices sons would end up a juvenile delinquent. That’s where she got Bubba from when he moved on Mamas Family
Eunice wanted so much out of life but just didn’t know how to achieve it. Thelma didn’t make it any better for her. Eunice is actually a good one because I would have stayed away from Mama a long time ago if I was her.
Well keep in mind that Eunice is also aware of the fact that Grandma Crowley (her maternal grandmother, Thelma's mother) treated her mama poorly. So she sympathizes for Thelma.

I never watched this skit before, I always wondered how Mama ended up living with Eunice. Pretty low of Mama to do that to Eunice after Ed left her for another woman.
I never made this connection before, but the fact that you can see all of the dirt and dust on the walls around where she used to hang her pictures reveals an important detail. Mama is quick to criticize Eunice for alleged poor house-keeping, but she drank just as much as Eunice, and she has a horrible temper just like Eunice, quick to blame other people for her problems just like Eunice... Mama's house-keeping for her own home was no better than Eunice's. Like mother like daughter.
To be fair that pretty much happens to everyone's home. When pictures have been hanging for years and YEARS, the wall looks like that when you take them down... just like the carpet under the sofa will look like new

Never seen this one before! Lol WHAT BOX DO YOU WANT ME TO TAKE OUT MOTHER HARPERRRR? I would have raced Mama to that senior home as fast as I could and then drove away even faster without looking back! Damn that woman was something else! A bad something else.
I spit out my water when mama said, “this neighborhood is going to hell( every color of the rainbow is moving in here”. If that isn’t an accurate way of how old people talk, then I don’t know what is. Absolutely brilliant 😂
As hilarious as these skits are, I still feel so bad for Eunice. She tried hardest of all to be a good daughter but it was never good enough or always backfired. Her anger and ranting in these skits comes from hurt.

@@sha11235 Sad. It did seem the show still had a lot of life in it for a few more years. That was too bad. Was depressed when it went off the air. Fabulous show.
Meh. I've tried to watch it a few times, but I don't care about most of the extra characters added. They're not interesting, and neither is sitcom-sweetened Mama.
I've never seen this one before, and I though I had seen all of them. Evidently quite a few of us have never seen this episode. I've never seen a Mama's family sketch that I didn't like. This is the best of comedy TV and these actors everyone of them is the best.
I’m so enjoying seeing all of the Family skits. I’ve never seen them all and I’m making it a point to watch every single one! Do you have the one where they go to the fancy restaurant? It is only available in a poor quality that someone recorded off their TV
I'm watching all I can as well. My favorites are probably the restaurant episode and the ones where she sees the psychiatrist. This one with Mama moving out made me feel sad as much as I laughed, though. I dunno, it was too realistic or something.
I notice that Carol Burnett had some sort of work done on her face during this last season. I still love these skits, this is one of 4 that I never saw (after Harvey Korman left the show).
I think she had her teeth fixed which changed the shape of her face. Overbite I think....of course I can't find anything about it, but I remember something about it back then.
Yes, Ed was tired of being double-teamed by the two women against him. He even referred to them as the "two creeps" in the episode where he went on a business trip with Mickey and not his wife.
I'm with Eunice on this one I love my mom yet living with her would make me nuts 2 women after a certain age especially mother and daughter living together can be a war waiting to happen
I like how they kept track of the backstory, like about Fluffy the rabbit, who came out of hiding in another sketch.

You go girl! ( Eunice) I'm on your side!
Can't forget the puffy, ball's of grease, under the stove 😊
I spit out my water when mama said, “this neighborhood is going to hell( every color of the rainbow is moving in here”. If that isn’t an accurate way of how old people talk, then I don’t know what is. Absolutely brilliant 😂
What do my eyes see?? A new episode?🤗🤗☕🍿🧐
I loved this show and Mamas Family.
As hilarious as these skits are, I still feel so bad for Eunice. She tried hardest of all to be a good daughter but it was never good enough or always backfired. Her anger and ranting in these skits comes from hurt.
Eunice never could get a break, never, my heart always went out to her and to those whom have actually experienced what she continuosly goes through in reality my heart and prayers are with you forever and always, but yeah she was never truly appreciated, never given her due praise
Eunice and Ed were missed on the Mamas Family show.
They were there in the first two seasons
That's because in the syndicated version Carol was divorcing Joe Hamilton, the producer, so she didn't want to work with him.
@@sha11235 Sad. It did seem the show still had a lot of life in it for a few more years. That was too bad. Was depressed when it went off the air. Fabulous show.
Meh. I've tried to watch it a few times, but I don't care about most of the extra characters added. They're not interesting, and neither is sitcom-sweetened Mama.
i liked the eunice free versions
I was so glad when Eunice stood up for herself..... Eunice!
Bad parents are the world's biggest problem they did delve into some heavy emotional stuff in the skits as well as the laugh out loud comedy
R.I.P Fluffy
Just love Eunice
Poor Eunice gets screwed every time!!!!
Where have actors and writing like this gone? They do not make comedy like this anymore
10:39 Oh no, not Fluffy again!!! Oh my!! Fluffyyyyyyyy!!!!!! ROFL!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love carol bernette & the Eunice & mama sketches
Thank you for that summary of my life, Momma. Lol
Never saw this one before! Thank you!
At this point they knew this was going to be the last season; it seems like they were toying here with the idea of a Family spin-off.
Thanks!!
The pet rabbit story is dark even for The Family
When Ellen told Eunice about it in the "attic" sketch it was hilarious to see Eunice's reaction.
I’ll end up being mama when I get old😂🤣😂🤣
Love it best show laughing and made me nervous as hell😫😫😫😅😂🤔
I wish I could see the mama’s family show again
You can, keep looking at RUclips
Wayne Daten Thanks I shall. Though thus far the results I seek have eluded me.
I always wondered why momma ended up living with Eunice.
When you run out of The Family sketches, I think it would be cool if you uploaded the sketches where Carol and Vickie are sisters. Just a thought. ☺💜
Its sad that sketch was just sorta forgotten when The Family started. They didn't even do a final Carol and Sis on the final show
Thank you. I can’t believe I’ve never seen this!
Thank you!! 😍
Great show.
The fact that Ed left Eunice was not Eunice's fault--it was his. Ed made the choice--not Eunice!
Yes, Ed was tired of being double-teamed by the two women against him. He even referred to them as the "two creeps" in the episode where he went on a business trip with Mickey and not his wife.
I know Ed did wrong. But Eunice rubbed in his face that she should have never married him and should have married Duke Reeves instead.
11:46 The look of sheer disgust 🤣🤣🤣
I'm with Eunice on this one
I love my mom yet living with her would make me nuts
2 women after a certain age especially mother and daughter living together can be a war waiting to happen
Truer words have never been spoken!!!!!
my daughter and her 23 y.o. daughter are still living under same roof. They get along great, perhaps because they are a lot alike.
Yea for Eunice. If my mom was like Thelma Harper she would be gone but not with me.
