Hello Hellen.. I've been looking for other Korean stews bec I've only known kimchi jjigae and doenjang. It's good you have other options. Hope you do more videos. I lhave learnt a lot from your videos. You don't only cook but you give your viewers much additional information. Seems like I am a student learning from a professional Korean-chef teacher. Keep it up!
My grandmother was born/raised in Korea before N & S, my family fled back to America when the Commies began to take over (until the day she died my grandmother poo poo’d them for cutting down all of her mother’s poppy flowers!) bulgogi and chop chae were staple foods for me growing up, I love your cooking channel so much thankyou!
Helen, I think I must be Korean… I can’t get enough kimchi, garlic or doenjang jjigae. When I make kimchi, I put 2 cups of the hot gochugaru.. and I LOVE scallions and daepa .. can’t get too much lol. I even really love cheonggukjang lol. All these stews are so yummy.. I often make doenjang jjigae for breakfast :) Yummmmm!!!! :)
LUV IT🙏🙌🙏. ChungGukJang…yes, you are totally Korean 🙌🥰 DoenJang soups are so good as breakfast food which Koreans eat with rice for breakfast, too. Here is a milder version DoenJang soup with spinach that you might also like. ruclips.net/video/qnDknCj-9Dk/видео.htmlsi=NkSC4X-0pWwWOZgb
It’s funny.. the simplest things are always the most comforting :) super easy soup looks delicious and I’m going to have to make that one too! :) Thank you for all you do to bring Korea to us 🥰🙏
Great🙏. I’m not sure what you mean by “spiced soybean paste.” Perhaps, you are referring to SsamJang which is a mixture of DoenJang and GoChuJang with other seasonings which is served as a condiment with lettuce wraps when having Korean BBQ and grilled fish. SsamJang is not used interchangeably with DoenJang. OR you might be referring to GoChuJang (fermented red pepper paste)? Here is a tutorial on mustard-have Korean seasonings that might be helpful ruclips.net/video/DcKt5dVJEps/видео.htmlsi=AdGiu4fKpBn18uTB
I want to make all of these! Unfortunately my local Asian food store doesn’t have a very big Korean section. Hope I can find the right soy sauce and soybean paste…
Omg omg omg Helen, Up to this point, I love Soon dubu with mushrooms, however you had me with BACON. Never thought BACON could be added. I love how your steps are basically dump it into the pot. Yes, I’m an egg girl for the soondubu’s :) Many times I have seen recipes for people make a paste and of course they keep it for months on end but I like how yours is just dumb and enjoy. And during these cold, rainy days in California, these Korean soups or stews are a must. I will have to buy a few ingredients I don’t have at our local Korean market. By chance, do you have a video where you’re shopping in a Korean MARKET. I have seen the one you did years ago on Karine ingredients film from your home but just wondering if you have one when you’re actually in a Korean supermarket? But I simply can’t wait to try to make all for stews, soup or jiigae. You are so awesome putting this collection in one video. By the way, do you have one for galbi Jiim? It’s one of my favorite but it’s so pricey at the Korean restaurants my local one sells for $22-$25 for a small stone pot crazy right? Sorry, it’s a long But I was really excited to see this comforting to our soul video. Keep on peppering 👍🤗🙏
Thanks 🙏. Here is my GalbiJjim recipe. ruclips.net/video/tzYqs71wezA/видео.htmlsi=kau3uL7ckZzFJvP3 For other recipes, type in the name of the dish in my search box on my channel. For this soondubu recipe, it is a quick version with the restaurant tip of adding pork fat to the base. If you want to prepare the spicy seasoning paste (ferment it in the fridge for later), watch my Spicy Chicken Stew which includes how to make the paste. ruclips.net/video/zHmJPvaLXV4/видео.htmlsi=TAAKmQQuB5_mtMcK As for the Korean ingredients, check the description box of each video for product links (use it as reference when you going to the Korean market). Love your channel. Do you have a video/recipe for YukGaeJang? I've been looking, but I can't find one on your channel. I'm not sure if you have a recipe, but the video is not titled as YukGaeJang. Anyway, if you don't have one, please consider it. I'd love to learn how to make it from you. You make Korean cooking very approachable.
