      Can you guys talk about boundaries regarding to how much one should share about their emotions/feelings/thoughts to their boyfriend/girlfriend? Often time, I hear that you should never tell the other person “too much information” as it can come off as “too much baggage” or the feeling of that you’re “weighing them down” with all your emotional stress/worries. I remember in one of the videos you guys made regarding to long distance relationship that you had set a boundary of when to stop talking about business related things in phone calls.
      I was just wondering how to share while not “sharing too much” but at the same time feel deeply emotionally connected to the other person

    “I’m not interested in a world where men really want to watch porn but resist because they’ve been shamed; I’m interested in a world where men are raised from birth with such an unshakable understanding of women as living human beings that they are incapable of being aroused by their exploitation.”

    • @cheryl5667
      @cheryl5667 Год назад +1

      @@user-lb1fl7sh8m That men who consume sexual exploitation aren't the victims of what they demand, which is the narrative of the church and people who like Tori and Chad who only focus on how porn 'harms' men (though men choose to consume, share and produce it for supremacy), instead of the women and girls being trafficked and coerced in the footage and image-based abuse that they consume to sexually subjugate women as a whole. The issue with porn isn't sex before marriage, it's that men are jacking off to what they damn well know is violence against an entire sex class. They are voyeuristic johns, as porn is just filmed prostitution, which is paid rape. If you told a prostituted girl 'you can leave and keep the money, or stay for the sex and keep the money' no girl would stay for the sex. Prostitution is the act of a dick paying to be where it isn't wanted, and overriding consent due to the financial need of the girl/woman. If Tori did know exactly what he and other men consumed, she would be terrified.

    Thank you for being brave enough to talk about this topic! How ironic that porn is everywhere online, and yet there is hardly any well done videos online that expose the truth about how damaging pornography actually is!
    Also, I just want to add that like Tori said in the beginning...yes, it’s good to give your bf/fiancé/husband grace when he struggles with lust/porn...BUT sometimes grace and love are not enough. Porn kills love, destroys trust, poisons intimacy, breaks hearts and ruins relationships! It can even cause betrayal trauma and PTSD in severe cases. It’s not a joke. My point is, that sometimes it’s out of your control. Like chad said, it’s not your job to fix him or his addiction. Sometimes you have to let them go.
    We all need to be praying for an end to the porn industry!!! 🙏

    I struggled with pornography for about two and a half years, from half way through my freshman year until the summer before my senior year. I was extremely sheltered in a Christian household growing up and didn’t even know it was a thing. I wasn’t even given “the talk” growing up. I found out about porn from classmates and checked it out. I quickly became hooked. I would look at porn almost every day for a while then go for a break for a week or a month just to try to prove to myself that I wasn’t addicted. But as soon as the break was over, I’d go back to it fiercely. I knew it was wrong and felt guilt for it. Eventually, I started dating a girl and really cared about her. Out of respect to her and following a conversation we had about porn, I was able to stop for several months. But the motivation for stopping was all wrong. I was stopping for her, instead of my savior. Sure enough, when things started to go wrong in our relationship and the writing seemed to be on the wall that our relationship would end soon, I went back to porn. We broke up, and God met me where I was. God worked through me to help me realize that life is nothing without Him! Even though I had a resurgence of faith, I still struggled with porn for a while. Just a few months following our break up and my renewed effort in my walk with Christ, I was going through the book of Romans. I read Romans 6 where it describes that we are no longer slaves to sin, but set free in Christ. At that literal moment, I am not lying, I felt a weight removed and I knew porn was gone. I had done nothing, but my Savior had done everything. Christ won my struggle against porn when I couldn’t. Since that day, I haven’t looked at porn or fallen to sin in that way. I still get tempted occasionally, but God always allows a way out. I know I’ll never struggle with porn again because I realized porn was not something I could beat on my own, but something my Savior could beat alone, despite me sinful nature. God is so amazing; He rescued me!

    This was such a brave thing to do!!! There is one saying which I love in this regard - monsters can only hide in the dark. Once you open up about it and let the light of God reach every corner, the enemy can no longer use something to torment you with. I also love that you shared the facts. So often the church avoids going in to details and just says "do not do it". It is about time that we let people in on the information that there are ACTUAL HARMFUL consequences and that God really does say no to things for our protection. Thank you for starting this conversation and for being so transparent about the facts and the reality of the struggle - you shall surely reap the rewards :) May God bless you guys richly xx

Such a sensitive topic to discuss yet you guys filmed it with so much maturity and understanding. I love how vhad gave facts to let how this industry works. It gives insights and preview of how the industry works. Sevondly, love how chad discusses his engagement to this kind of hobby. For someone who has been in this kind of situation, its very helpful for those who have the same engagement to it to know the realization directly to someone who has been in the same situation. Aside from this, chad was able to discuss it with great knowledge and the complexity of how what we think is a solution may become a problem in the future. I love how chad give situational story ( which i think the same example he give (the alcoholic story) in one of the lives of you before or one of your videos). Love how Tori has been there as support and seeing how she maturely handles the situation when chad opened upthis thing to her. I love the honestyin your relationship in such a way that those things that makes someone shameful do not make them feel the shame yet overcome it through acceptance and change. Love the video hoomans. And im so proud of Chad for opening this sensitive part of him where possibilities are he can be judged by others yet he still did it to inform that theres ways to overcome it. Im 43 years old and struggled with porn through most of my 20's and 30"s. The thing that helped me most is I had to take a in depth look at porn and identify the things that I didnt like about it. For me its a lack of authenticity meaning its not an accurate view of what it means to love and please your partner. Another part for me was the drug use within the porn community. Many of those girls are out of their mind high on drugs in order to be able to do those acts. These are just a few examples of many things I hated about porn that I used to retrain my brain from looking at porn as a source of pleasure into seeing it as a vile and degrading thing. When my brain made that shift I didnt desire the porn in the same way anymore. I never want my wife to feel like shes not enough for me or that she isnt my number 1 priority. I love her much more than porn and the intimate experience with her porn can never compare to.
    I hope this can help anyone who may read it

    I remember I applied for a sales job once at a sporting goods store. They said, “I don’t need people who know products. Products are easy, I can teach you how to learn and memorize all that stuff easily. What I need are people who know how to sell and be good employees.” Just like that, focus on being a good husband/wife. Build the characteristics and values that build a strong foundation in your love and intimacy with each other. The rest is easy. It’s just about learning the physicality. The heart of it is where your HEART is at. Haha see what I did there?

    Not only does the church not talk about it but sometimes they make it seem like you should be so shameful and feel a lot of guilt for being tempted by/giving in to porn. I feel like alot of young people especially teenagers struggle with it, I was one of them I'm not gonna lie and it was in my younger teenagers years(13/14). One of the best ways to overcome any addiction is to find something that is more meaningful in your life to carefully replace it with. Whenever I've struggled with any addiction, regardless of whether it's sexual or not, the way I get out of it for good is to replace it with the good, especially the good that is God.
    I'm grateful to have found your channel and I love that you both know God and Jesus well enough to have made the decision to share your testimonies through the Spirit with all of us!

    Grace upon grace. We have to extend grace to others. Tori clearly showed grace but in some way, Chad also showed grace. How? By sharing his testimony. Sadly, most of us have fallen short in this and I wished someone talked about this when I was younger. I just knew it was bad. But that was it. Hearing testimonies like this one, it's an example of God's love, grace, and strength. Thank you for doing this series. The world really needs it.

    Love this series that you guys are doing! The church doesn’t talk about this stuff enough. Another idea for this series is to do an episode on the fears of sex (maybe q+a style?). I know for me, I am terrrrrrrrrrified for the day I get married and have sex. Pain, vulnerability, not being good at it, being naked, spouse being disappointed in pleasure or my body, etc etc.

    • @ToriAndChad
      @ToriAndChad  3 года назад +1

      That could be a great idea! The next videos we are doing is the boundaries series and we may revisit the sex series to answer things like that! I know this won't help much as it's just one sentence, but I don't think you will need to worry about the things you are terrified about! I think all of those fears will disappear when you give yourself to the right man in marriage! Also remember that God does not work in the spirit of Fear, but in the spirit of POWER, and LOVE and SOUND MIND! If you are feeling fear, that is not from God! Kick it out!!!

    I just had the biggest realization... Thank you, for letting me understand why we tend to run to those harmful "solutions" that just like you say, later become the problem. Whenever we are sad o disappointed, it's because things that aren't in our control happened, so we run to *something we CAN control*. So the problem is really something so much more deep, where we need to learn to trust God, trust his plans, and learn to control our thoughts.

    This was heavy! All of us have vices and we use them as a crutch not to have to deal with life. It becomes a problem when we don’t accept its a fantasy and its a form of escape. Some people don’t do that and it causes them great harm. Indulging in a fantasy isn’t wrong but allowing it to take away our self control ought to be more than we can bear. Men have been destroyed by nothing more than unchecked passion. Its a lesson we should all take to heart.
