- If you liked this video would you mind sharing it? Only if you are comfortable of course! (now to the encouragement!) Things don’t always go our way... I actually think that is a great thing... When I think of the fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5 (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness etc..) and the examples of love in 1 Corinthians 13 (patient, kind, no envy, etc) these are the things we should be pursuing to reflect into the world... But we are out here just trying to get in a relationship and make a lot of money... that’s just not the move. And trust me, we are tempted just like everyone to force our will and to tell God that we know better and that 6 figure salary, and easy life would be in His best interest for us. lol. But if those aren’t the things GOD tells us to worry about, and He gives us examples of what to seek then how do we achieve those? For example, if more money comes from hard work... well More patience comes from not getting our way.. and more kindness comes from people being rude to us. And keeping no record of wrongs means we get wronged and CHOOSE to not keep record. You see what I’m saying? So in summation, all your boy is trying to say is this... Count it all joy my brothers and sisters. No matter what we are going through, we have a chance to reflect God’s love into a situation and to others and that is so so so special. Not the nice car, or amazing spouse, or “boss babe” job... It’s the love your bringing to the world, not the kingdom you’re building for yourself... Anyways. As christians, we should see having sex as a normal routine within a marriage. It’s God’s greatest gift for us. Because there’s so much sexual immorality, God commanded us to get married so that we can have that one partner to enjoy sex with. Sex is never dirty and shameful because it’s created by God for us to enjoy, and our parents had sex in order for us to be in this world today. The obvious reason for sex is to procreate, where a man and a woman join their sexual organs together and subsequently the joining of their sex cells to produce a baby. But God also wants us to enjoy the physical and emotional bonding that comes with sex.

@@ToriAndChad I didn’t even know sex was meant to be the way you explained until seeing this video, and I was raised in a Christian family, it’s sad. What you explained, that’s what I want, not what culture shoves down my throat. I wish I would have known, otherwise I wouldn’t have made certain decisions in the past and struggled with lust and addiction to pornography. But that’s in the past, and I am infinitely forgiven. What a great topic! My husband and I were really struggling to resist because we started dating in high school where we heard every day what everyone else was doing and it was hard to not push the limits. We ended up breaking up after two years because we had crossed set boundaries too many times and our relationship was not centered around God anymore, but around each other and our desires for each other. We still loved each other like crazy and we wrote letters until we got back to our hometown at the start of COVID. My man immediately asked to see me again and asked if he could date me again. However, this time we decided to not even kiss to eliminate any opportunity for crossing boundaries. A couple months later he proposed to me and asked me to marry him by the end of the summer. We were engaged for only 6 weeks and it made it sooooooo much easier to not feel crazy temptation knowing I was with my future husband. We are so grateful that we waited and it has helped us to start our relationship centered AROUND GOD and not on each other. If anyone reading this is experiencing this struggle, you can ALWAYS start over! We found that it helped to take a break from each other and start with a clean slate. It was also most helpful to not even kiss since we weren't good at setting situational boundaries. It is so worth the wait and it makes it so much more special to wait.

Wow, this is exactly what happened between I and my boyfriend , we came back together this month of October after a 1 year break-up due to the guilt we had knowing that we weren't doing the right thing. Now it feels so brand new and peaceful

@@ToriAndChad I am a Christian woman who married my husband on Feb 21, 2016, divorced him on Dec 13, 2019, and reconciled (not legally) on Dec 24, 2019, and, although I haven’t felt the urge from God to get legally remarried, we realized that we still love each other and want to be together. So, we do have sex, and I want to say that, unlike my past sexual relationships outside of marriage, I don’t feel the guilt or shame. I will say that I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my faith (praying, reading my bible etc.), but, in my particular situation, I’m not sure how to fully perceive it because I know that on one hand sex outside of marriage is a sin, but on the other hand God wants us to reconcile if possible, and I’ve read through my bible once, and I’m on my second time from beginning to end and, unless I missed something, I didn’t see where it said we had to reconcile on paper to be considered husband and wife again🤷🏻♀️ Anyways, I just thought that I’d share my story and get some opinions outside of my own on this particular subject. 💗Jen from AK

I feel even after marriage there should be a transition period. To go from boundaries to no boundaries in 24 hours would be a big shocker for me.
Agree. It takes time to adjust from always covering up to suddenly being naked in front of someone and from abstaining from sex to enjoying sex. Just go at your own comfortable pace but remember to communicate with your spouse about your fears and insecurities.
Same I was thinking I'd want to sleep in the bed with clothes on and slowly get comfortable being close to each other.
Anyone else wish they could send these to a girl they’re talking to? I’m with someone who’s still working on herself and she says she has baggage and doesn’t want to burden anyone. You guys are right about pastors and the church not dealing with this subject. What's encouraging is men like John Piper have done a lot to get Christians talking and thinking about it, about the dangers of sexual promiscuity. Another great man is Carl Truman. His recent book The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self talks about how American culture became so eroticism and sexualized. Also, Rosaria Butterfield was a former lesbian who was converted and now a Christian. She's written several books about being a light for Christ before a hostile and sexualized world.
I'm a single pastor who has struggles with sexual urges regularly. I'm glad that the Lord has laid it upon your heart to do this ministry. I will definitely be using these videos in my future ministry endeavors. It's also a blessing to see that you're not afraid to debunk the myths about sex being preached in our culture. In doing so, it helps me personally view it differently and in a more holy manner. Thank you for your obedience to the Lord.

I think it’s the other way around. What God meant for good the enemy turned to evil. But yes God can turn what Satan made evil into something good. God is all powerful and all knowing. He planned everything first. Satan only thought it was his idea but really it was God’s idea.
So what I mean is God meant for sex between a married man and woman to be good. God created man and woman to have sexual relationships within the bonds of marriage.

I agree that God wants to protect us, but it’s more than just heartbreak. He doesn’t want us to SIN against him by having sex outside of marriage, and his boundaries of marriage for sexual relations are to keep us from sinning against him. Sex within marriage glorifies Him, sex outside marriage does not.
Idk if it’s just me or if this is normal but just the thought of sex scares me. This is actual a constant worry of mine. I can’t even imagine being naked in front of someone and not wanting to run away and hide in a closet.

I don’t think you should be afraid. As christians, we should embrace having sex as a good gift from God for our enjoyment with our spouse. God has intended for us to have sex so that we can procreate. At the same tine, we enjoy the physical and emotional bond that comes with it. It’s just so wonderful to be so close to your spouse while receiving pleasure. And we should not feel ashamed to be naked with our spouse. Marriage is about the complete surrender of our body to the other person because we love them. So it’s the right thing to do in marriage to enjoy the naked body of our spouse and have sex.
I am always happy to see the honest conversations (biblical based) that you have. Sex as we know it is one of those very touchy subjects and one that most times the church refuses to talk about and so often times rather than having our views of sex being guided by the word of God, they become distorted and even at times appearing grotesque due to being influenced by culture. So I commend both you Tori and Chad for allowing the Lord to use you both in offering biblical and sound insights on these delicate topics. Blessings from J.A.

Also I think God uses our faults for a reason. He used the fact that you guys had sex before marriage to let us know it's wrong and that it follows you even through marriage and can only be overcome through the power of Jesus 💞

My friend and I spend a lot of time discussing the things people who are older and wiser don't share with us! But then they tend to sit and discredit our opinions because of our youth and behavior. They tell you not to do something but don't explain why or give you the concrete steps to follow. The unwillingness to be honest about our mistakes it what has others making the same ones. Don't you want to be the person that spares another's pain?
Anywho, THANK YOU for breaking free of what we've seen so often and your willing hearts when it comes to vulnerability and God's Kingdom!!! We need to take back sex from the culture who uses it as a way to bind us (loved your words on this) and videos like this are a victory in the right direction!
A lot of this perversion has to do with our leaps toward entitlement and the selfish culture we're immersed in. Take one look at Jesus and you know that's not the Kingdom of God... No time to get started on this one. I'll get too heated!

Its not that people gain physical satisfaction from each other; rather sex changes their feelings for each other and you literally become different people. That’s why its a gift from God. I realized I got it all wrong; physical intimacy is only part of our lives and emotional and spiritual intimacy brings two people together in ways they never imagined. That can literally change your life. Once you understand it, only then can people have a heartfelt conversation about sex. Our culture is so superficial about it because that’s exactly what we need to have but we don’t.

The Christian book my parents gave me "Every Young Woman Battle" made me feel like there was something wrong with me as a teen because I had done ZERO "experimentation" of my sexuality and the book made it seem like everyone was doing that and that it's "normal" but that you can repent if you have etc...... however because of this the book made me feel like a freak because I had no clue what masterbation even was .

i love the way y’all approached this. purity culture creates such a toxic mindset of fear in girls & i hope that the church begins to lean into girls and show them into deep love for God rather than shame/fear of sex before marriage. when we are so in love with God we WANT to honor Him because of how much our hearts and minds are aligned with his. also i just got married and can see how much the Lord blesses those who keep His commandments and seek His heart in dating relationships🤍

There is a difference between just simply saying avoid sex because it is dirty and shameful and saying that sex is a beautiful gift from God to be shared with your spouse in a marriage.
"Purity culture is toxic" oh yeah? Are Jesus and Saint Paul also toxic? They said that those who sin will burn in hell (except those who believe in the name of Christ and repent) They said that if you engage in these types of sin (sexual immorality) you would be barred from entering the kingdom of God. Purity culture echoes what the Bible says word for word, i dont see the problem.

When you started crying Tori I felt that. As a single mother who was never married, I still feel shame for having a kid out of wedlock when most of my friends are married with a few kids. I would say "I did this out of order so now ill never get a Godly relationship because of this baggage." However, I now know that this is a lie. Wow literally so thankful. One of the first relatable and honest Christian couples I have seen on RUclips. I feel like I watch videos about boundaries or whatever and come away feeling deflated and more guilty. Thank you for being real! I am so grateful for how God is using you two to further his kingdom together.

What you both said about lies being fed in your mind, it's so apt! I'm 20 and in college and yes im waiting for the right person but in college, I have always been laughed at for the same. It's hard to keep your mind on track when everyone around you says you are wrong or dumb to think like that but I'm doing my best. Waiting for the right person may not seem right to some people now, but it will seem right later and it will be too late by then. The culture everywhere in the world is now to just treat humans as objects and it blows my mind. And about the songs, it's so true. It's really upsetting to see women to encourage all this. And it's not in the States. It's everywhere unfortunately.

This video was so so so great. I kept finding myself saying “yep. yep. That’s so true. Yep.” Lol because of everything I’ve gone through pre salvation and even post salvation. Many of us have or had such an unhealthy view of sex because of how we were raised, the examples in our lives, culture shoving it in our faces constantly- and you guys totally hit each nail on the head. I’m not a Christian, but I have always had very similar views on this. I’ve always seen it as something special to be shared with your spouse. I never understood why anyone would risk creating life with someone they had not committed to spending the rest of their life with. I hate how society paints people with our views as unhealthy or ‘suppressed’ when we’re actually the ones who have a healthy view of sex.
This video really helped me! My boyfriend and I recently recommitted our lives to Christ and we both made the decision to wait until marriage even though our relationship has crossed that boundary! It makes me feel like I can relate to you tori!
