Nothing wrong with with loving these pop songs from the 70’s. Brilliant artists from that period. Check out all of Clodagh’s videos and music. Superb singer
What a strange turn this cycling tour has taken! Mr. Gulliver appears to have lost his memory and, far from being interested in safer food, is now convinced that he is Clodagh Rogers, the young girl singer. I am taking him for medical attention.
I was five when i heard this i loved this and chirpy chirpy cheep cheep jack in the box and was a eurovision song contest that year eurovision is a gay thing so make no wonder i came out that way oh well too late now!!!
Taken from the 1971 Its Cliff Richard BBC Series. All sadly wiped! This is the only surviving clip. Look at the wonderful BBC production values, sound mix and colours of the time.
@@rumbers Only found it this morning it's the same as this (but in B&W) but it's got the original It's Cliff Richard audio. Ray is getting it back to Clodagh today. I haven't uploaded it to RUclips however.
Clodagh sang this so much better here than in the ESC final. The change in inflexion at the end of the first two lines is much better in this version, rather than holding the note longer as she did in the final performance. And in the final she seemed to be racing through the song in a hurry. As a ten year old then I knew she had ruined her chances of winning with that performance. But not to take anything away from the winning song.

I'm 16 years old and I'm amazed how awesome these old songs are compared to music today. This song rocks.
Monty python's flying circus, s3 e8.... and being bored brings me to this song.
Worth the listen!
TROTSKY!!!
Haha me too
Ditto...
Thank goodness, I don't know what I would have done to if this wasn't here to watch after a gruelling "Cycling Tour of North Cornwall".

Mr Pither brought me here.
Really? I bet Pamela Anderson loves this comment. I think I found one of my Master Puppeteers.
Me too! Never heard of This song and artist until Monty Python and the cyklist skit
No he didn't, he fell off.
We three.
Me too!
Great memories from the 1970's when as a DJ I'd play this at kids school end of year parties. They loved it, and I can see visualise it . . .
Good to see Trotsky's keeping up with the singing.
Next time, definitely.
No one hates you, Clodagh!
lenins friend.
It's an old Lenin number.

If it ain't broke dont fix it.
it took Monty Python to get us in the US here, but I gotta admit, she's pretty good
She's pretty lovely!
So, this is Clodagh Rodgers singing "Jack in the box"... Now I understand that part of the sketch.
of course I only found this song after rewatching the Monty Python "Bike Tour" episode - I think John Cleese sang a bouncier version
What do you keep your hard boiled eggs in?

WTH she doesn't sound anything like Trotsky
Goergeous in every way
How do you know so much about cycling?
More gimmicky than I remember...but a lot of fun. Clodagh has an excellent voice with a finely-judged vibrato.
the most stunning irish export ever, probably one of the three most beautiful women ever born.
And may I ask who you think the other two were?
Yep the other two were my wife and my daughter ❤❤

Thank you, Monty Python.
47 years ago! Really? I remember it like it was yesterday. Fabulous song, should have won. Oh those hotpants she wore...
46 years ago if you count your fingers.
@@royaumeuni5730 maybe Kevin hasn't enough fingers...🤣
@@1derfullBeast Apparently, he can count past his fingers and toes.
I seem to recall that '71 was the end of the mini skirt and in for midi and maxi skirts. Legs would be covered for years to come!

Attractive lady with good performance.
