you just made me realize why i love secondhand shopping so much, because it really is anti-advertising! the most a thrift store can advertise is that they have low prices, but that's it! they can't tell you what to buy because they don't even know what they have. (and my favorite secondhand item in my home is my bedside table lamp with a crystal base, it was $5 at my local thrift store with the bulb, it's been almost four years and it hasn't burnt out yet!)
I love, love, love your second hand treasure!!!! I also love your brick wall inside of your home! Style! I love shopping second hand for many reasons! But your finds are on a different level! Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring me to do more second hand shopping!
RUclips has been recommending me this video for 3 days now. Finally gave it a click and I totally see why! Silly me, I should have trusted the algorithm. Thanks for the video, you have some great finds!
4:20. I purchased a 1929 Waterfall dresser this summer in perfect condition from craig's list. The top drawer would also fall out which can be dangerous. The previous owner told me he did what you do. What you are missing is a long slender piece of wood that was glued to the top center above the draw (front to back)... these are the old fashion draw stops which keeps these types of drawers from falling out. It was only missing in one of my drawers so I was able to measure the pieces of wood in the top center of the other drawers. Took a few photos... Got two free pieces of remnant wood from Home Depot and cut it to size at Home Depot. Appx 17" long x 1" wide, Height about 2 inches. One piece was too heavy and I cut it a bid too short, the other, was a light birch. I removed the drawer and was about to try to glue it in.. when I tested the birch piece, it fit and was so snug I could not move it. It wedge right into place with just a light tap from a hammer with no glue needed. I put the draw back in and pulled it out, the back of the drawer hits the top of the wood and it stops it from falling out. That is what you are missing. FYI ....I searched online and could only find drawer stops for modern dressers which you cannot use on these waterfall pieces.
The screen is coromandel. I have an old one with 8? panels. Evidently Coco Chanel collected them. Chanel recently came out with a scent by that name. Mine is old but don’t know the age. I got mine at a secondhand furniture store many years ago. I never get tired of it. Love your couch.
My favourite thrifted item is my vintage black patent matelassé Miu Miu 2way hand bag with a silky pink interior and gorgeous sturdy yellow-gold tone hardware!😍 Bought on Vestiaire Collective 10 years ago and I still absolutely love it to this day!
I totally approve of each of your FABULOUS choices; especially your sofa! You've got a good eye and know when and what to invest in- Well Done! AND I have that same Stevie Wonder album on CD and I play it often- every single song is A Keeper!
First video of yours that I see and loved it! I like the explanation you gave about you being attracted by the glassware at the shop. You inspired me to go giving a look and trying to figure out what my style is! Thank you!
i really enjoy your content, you're very eloquent! Your decor finds are very cool and i love with how much passion you're talking about them :) your videos make me happy
I love everything about this! You’ve got a really eclectic European sense of style and I’m soo jealous of your couch. Greetings from a new subscriber from Amsterdam.
Your home is super beautiful. I just saw one of your shorts' videos showcasing your plants. Could you do maybe a longer version? Love love the voice Thanks, my lovely great video❤❤
So happy you popped up in my timeline! I’m a new subscriber! Love that my place is second hand furnished as well. I have a 70’s mirror with the original label on the back the gold and is worn a bit but my entry space loves it. And you spoke to my soul about Stevie Wonder love that album!
Love the wooden chest ❤😍 Reminds me of a solid wood chest I got from a church that was donating in my area . Had it for years and decided to get it painted. The furniture company stole it and sent something completely different to my home 😢
I found this painting by Darrin Patton while working at a frame shop in Chicago. It was a very intimate piece that made me think of my late father and it is the most I've ever spent on a piece of art lol
New subscriber here ❤...I too love your sofa and it looks so comfortable. My favorite of your shown collection would be the Art Deco Dresser, it was worth whatever it took to bring it home. My own picks would include Thrift Store and Curb Collection finds. My favorite from the curb is an 80's Art Deco revival plaster floor lamp. It has its' original Rose Gold paint and an embossed Chevron pattern. They sell for a couple hundred dollars but free to me! My favorite Thrift Store find, now this is from 40+ years of thrifting, would be a trio of stacked stone figures marked "Freda of Carmel", they consist of stacked shore rocks and are fashioned with hats made of seashells and probably date to the 1960's. I've never found them anywhere on-line and I just love them so much. I also love your kitchen cabinets, so pretty and clean. Fun video!
I just found your channel by chance on a Sunday dreary night. I was feeling kinda low in energy and I have to say after watching your video I’m truly energized . Your full descriptions of each element in your beautiful home , I can feel the textures through the screen along with your wonderful color combinations. Thank you for this video . I subscribed to your channel immediately.❤
Love, love, love your secondhand finds and your place! The Songs in the Key of Life album is my all time favorite! Btw I was around during that time! lol Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing! 💜💜💜
Luv EVERYTHING! I just moved and thinking more about my personal style. The couch!!! Makes me wonder about those great conditioned old couches that stayed in shape because your grandma used plastic covers. Stevie Wonder is a must in any record collection. 🔥💜
Completely agree about dresser. I bought a 1930s vanity set of drawers on marketplace that needed some TLC and it works perfectly after we sanded and waxed it. would be worth 1000s if bought brand new today and if bought cheap it would be terrible quality.
New subscriber! Your home is beautiful! You have great taste. I also have a love for vintage glassware😅My favorite item I’ve purchased is a magenta sterling jacket from a thrift store in Portugal! It’s my dream jacket and I get so many compliments.
Gahhh I've been on the prowl for a divider and bar cart like yours for years. Maybe this will be the season! Amazing pieces, I'm going to look into the album and the ikebana book.
New subscriber here, loved this video!!! A actually got an authentic Knoll Pollock chair as well… in my neighborhood I was shocked when I looked at the bottom and saw the original label. She just needs new wheels I would love to do a dark grey pebbled leather or black. ❤❤❤❤
You’ve got a great voice. Very easy to listen to.
Thank you! 😊
I agree. She would be perfect for doing audiobooks ❤
