This is Kokkaffe Diaries Episode 8.
I usually try to stay away from the slowest parts of the forest rivers, I've always thought they are filled with northern pike. But this week my transformation towards a fish-every-species fly fisher continued. I speed tied a fur ball ( a real bad imitation of a dead mouse I found at work) and went searching for pike.

Mousing for pike looks like so much fun! And they're bigger than your local brown trout. Reminds me of throwing gurglers for topwater coho in Alaska... that wake you see behind the fly... priceless.

A great video , reminds me of the times I've spent in Sweden . Yes the year is moving on quickly , already the swifts(seglare) have left , soon the geese will be here in Scotland .

Love it Rolf, this style of fishing is so much fun! Here in Australia we fish for bass in a similar way, it's one of my favourite ways to fish. :)

Grym video som vanligt Roffe!!! Ibland måste man göra lite annat, fiskar mycket Lax och Havsöring men ibland drar vi ut med flytringarna på sommaren och fiskar Abborre, Mört, Gädda eller Gös på allt från nymfer till möss!!

hey there... a silly question not about the fun fishing but the video... what camera are you using? are you shooting Raw? or Log? I love your shots and the details in them. really beautiful work... your exposures etc all of it is excellent. I teach film/video and will definitely be showing my students this material. (PS the fishing is inspiring me to go try fishing for Pike/Pickerel on the fly over here in the US east coast.
