James, I just wanted to let you know that You absolutely inspire me. I always have loved Dinosaurs, and for a very long time, I wanted to be a paleontologist. When I got to 4th grade, people started judging my interest in it, so I put dinosaurs aside for a few years so I can fit in. Watching your videos have inspired me to be who I am, and publicly love dinos, no matter what anybody says. Thank you so much, and I know you will succeed beyond imagination. I hope there will be others who feel the same about your videos. Keep up the amazing work.
As much as dino survival games feel saturated to me, i really like how this one handles different species in the same genus (different buffs and debuffs + physical variation) and the way you can customize your dino via upgrades. Feels pretty fresh.

Tail-hits (when you bite a player's tail) can reduce damage taken drastically. When you were chasing that baby allo near the end, you were likely only landing hits on its tail, as its tail was showing gashes and nowhere else. Bone-break also will fail if it hits someone's tail.
Tip, dont go for speed hides that take away turn radius along with balanced tail otherwise your turning will be incredibly slow and youll die in a fight with any other mid/low tier like concavenator
Also don't pick 'Lightweight' ever, unless you're purely a pacifist. Unlike 'Thin Hide' or 'Streamlined', it lowers your combat weight, causing you to deal reduced damage, take increased damage, as well as still lowering turn radius. This might change after the combat update, but we'll see.

@@huehue2 lightweight reduces cw by 20% so a sucho goes from 5k to 4k and loses armour so takes extra damage on top

It's honestly a good idea to go speed while a smaller carnivore, as it is the main advantage you have over larger predators. You will never be able to build enough defense to negate the high amounts of damage they would deal to you, so the best defense is to not get hit in the first place.
I disagree, I think the opposite is true. You're already faster than a rex and more manoeuvrable than an allo. But if you're weak and have low health due to your hide you aren't gonna deal with fast things like alio because they'll always be more agile. Use your strengths to your advantage don't negate them.

Small carnivores biggest strength is their speed, they lack overall bulk. You’re actually suggesting to ignore your natural strengths and spec into defense. Which I agree with.

It would be fun to play w/ a group which I know isn’t really your thing, you play w/ others from time to time but a group to play w/ can make any game 100x better.
I 100% agree with that lamb after the alio fight. Those alios didnt use their speed, 2nd best in the game. They used brute force, which in their case was worse as a campto, with less health, damage, defence and stam.

My advice is to spec into all the buffs that boost your dinos playstyle. I'm not really sure about the logic of weakening your cera for the sake of speed when it's never gonna be as fast as an alio or a deinon.
Basically whatever niche your dino fills, boost that as much as possible. Defence cera is probably the best one.
Cera with speed buffs IS faster than allo's and deinons that aren't also built for speed
Maybe I chose a bad example. What I mean is, if you're playing Ano for example. You're best bet wouldn't be to say "I'm tough enough, let's add a little speed" It would be to max out your toughness as much as possible, play into your strengths yk? I think that's a better explanation.
I think its better to back up ur weaknesses. Like if ur a deinon for example, ur already gonna be faster than most dinos so theres rlly no reason to put much into stamina or speed, so u should go for defence or attack because those r ur weakest points. Get them from a “bad” to an “okay” because its better to have ‘okay, okay, good, good’, than ‘bad, bad, amazing, amazing’. If that makes sense?

Cerato is one of the best dinos in the game, can't wait to see what Beaver does with it
he shouldve been oriented towards defense more and have less speed, but still have enough speed by switching hides sometimes and having his genus type buff
The fact that this can be said is why I love PoT, it feels like every Dino can hold its own in most matchups if it plays to it's strengths, even as a mid or even low tier
Not cerato(even though I do play it), but personally I've held my own as a metri against a (admittedly pretty stupid) spino and that remains one of my favourite highlights

Beaver, you realize you can crouch, which helps you go into that tunnel you couldn’t before because you didn’t crouch, the concavenator crouched, and to hit smalls you can crouch as well :)

What always stopped me from getting games like the isle and pot is like in ppls videos everything looks all smooth until you decide to fight someone then it's like they hit a lag switch. I get frustrated for ppl especially when realistically they should've won but instead they died because their opponent teleported all over or hits don't register when they should've. It's a real bummer because these games look like they'd be fun without that crap
28:25 here’s a dumb story: I was playing as a deino in Velocci’s server (IC pond) trying to parent a baby deino who somehow got there. Everyone hated him because he thought he could get away with biting ankles. Protected that little bugger to the end. I killed another deino, 2 utahs, a giga and nearly a rex before the baby went down. Then an angry argent showed up so that was my cue to log.
This is gonna be a good one.

That's one thing I like about Titan, you got subspecies to choose from which they smartly added as defense /speed and such buffs/nerfs.
Big Al was a jimmadseni which is in game and cool asf, or you can be the newer allo fragilis which was slightly bigger but has the smaller crests.
