- Restricted to activities in our own province, I am happily taking the chance to visit small community restaurants that I have (overlooked? Obviously the loss was my own!!).
Today, we are the guests of a community that lives on land, yet works on rafts. Raising shrimp, and larger fish (our Tilapia), while fishing in both the open water, but also in the small rivers and streams nearby, AND in the rice fields as well! (for our catfish, but mudfish was also on the menu), the very fun and enjoyable reception we had here today was fully matched by some incredible tasty dishes (huge dishes) of very tasty fishes (thank you to both the fish! and to the chef!) and this ends up being just one more beautiful day to remember in the small-community-in-the-countryside life of Esaan, North East Thailand.

Excellent first restaurant. I loved how to kids are such great helpers. Where I stay in Bali, the 10 year old can run the warung by herself. Already Learning English too. I love how people in Asia are so kind and helpful. The reservoir looks beautiful. Great video. Peace, Dennis

What a beautiful meal! I honestly think that living in Thailand would be healthier for me. The array of fresh vegetables and flavors and pride in preparation is really heart warming. The fact that quality is important and common and not seen as a luxury. I love to see the children and how they are so polite and raised to value family. Always a pleasure to share your meal and environment with you. Love you both ❤️🙏

I was 20 pounds lighter when I lived there, and are whatever I wanted. Lots of walking and sweating. Air quality could easily counter the healthy diet you'd have. However, if you have a decent amount of $$, the lifestyle for an expat is quite nice.

I have found over the past 12 years (with A LOT of thought into this, you remember this was literally my job for more than 1 year, writing articles about life in Thailand), living a very basic lifestyle here is much 'cheaper' than the same in the USA, living a fairly basic one is somewhat cheaper, living a comfortable lifestyle here (and thats up to opinion of course) costs about the same speaking in terms of only cash, but in my opinion its the same life but with less stress to get it! so for me, this is where the people of Thailand 'succeed,' and finally, a lifestyle full of high-end stuff actually costs far more here than it does in the USA (mostly because you will be paying 2 to even 5 times more for every item because every item will be taxed heavily on import). This info is also all true for my life in Kenya as well, and therefore, I imagine can be roughly estimated across the developing world. @Vonn Powell @Major Allen Espy

It is so awesome to see a restaurant with all the family working together they all looked so happy and super friendly, even the kids were eager to help any ways they could and the seating area over looking the water was so serine. You definitely made my tummy grumble with this pescatarian meal 🤤🤤🤤🤤 the fish with salad looks Aaaaamazing but to be honest the whole meal looks tantalizing. It's really inspirational as I'm currently in Mexico but I struggle so much with conversational Spanish even though I know 4 other languages and it should be easy for me to speak it. @@JoelsTastyRide unfortunately still no power - about 4 hours now. Yeah that multi tool is cool! I’m not comfortable to “fawk” the papaya because I’m nervous about cutting my finger. I use a shredder but I don’t like it much as it makes the strands too skinny and uniform - I believe Som Tum should be rustic. Oh man I love a good Koi Pla or koi pla muk or koi goong. SAAP SAAP!
My favorite part is Chin's happiness and enthusiasm 🥰💖 So heartwarming! And of course, the crazy delicious food... just so much wow 🤤😍
