Just to add to the confusion, a buddy loaned me his V1, and though otherwise identical to the one in your review, it's finished in the same bead-blasted, black anodized aluminum throughout, without the lighter grey anodizing over the motors. Go figure.

i own the crane v.1 with a g7 which is under 1200 gram, but i wantet to use a heavier set up with an a7rii and a heavy lense (alltogether1500gr). So i stumbled across A website which discribes this jitter problem and so i did some more research. I found an article which stated that the problem is now solved. I wantet to contribute but i cant find any sources right now. I did the latest firmwareupdate 1.5...anyway and from my understanding you can choose between 3 levels of payload in the zhyiun mobile app for light, medium, and heavy set ups. If anybody could clarify this issue it would be much apreciated, because when i am connectet to the mobile app and switch the set ups it is automaticly changed from light to heavy payload and it works just fine. So i guess people shouldnt be afraid to make the firmware update and switch between set ups with different payloads !
My dude, maybe my v1 is broken or something but let me know if it is working right.. So the gimbal coupled with my a6300 and tamron 18-200mm weigh up to 1100g which is perfect. But I understood that the gimbal rotated 360 degrees on all axes however, only the pan does the full rotation but the roe and tild only go about 45 degrees and just stop there. Is that ok? I prebalance everything till is correct on all axes and not leaning forward, back left or right it hold its position perfectly and then i power it on but i do not get full 360 on the tilt and roll. Is this how the gimbal should function or is it faulty in those two axes? Really appreciate tue feedback if anyone ever sees this.
Thanks for all your great content videos. Have you had any luck with the 16-35GM on the Zhiyun Crane v2? I have balanced it with my a7RII multiple times before turning on with no issues. But when it starts up in pan follow mode, it goes into a crescendo panic vibration after a few seconds. Double tapping to full lock mode, it's just fine. Pressing once again to go to pan following mode and it vibrates again. I know it's a semi-heavy lens but my a7RII + 16-36 GM + Oben QRA-R2A Quick Release are under the published limit if B&H specs are correct. I bought it before the Crane 2 came out and am now regretting the Crane v2 purchase at this point. It never had any issues with a Panasonic FZ-1000 on it. Any advice would be most appreciated.
You mentioned issues with upgraded firmware for V1 when shooting with lighter cameras. Is it a common problem? I'm considering buying used V1 but it had an upgrade installed, my camera + lens weights 800-900g total (X-T2).

I recently purchased the Zhiyun crane and I been in a constant battle with the "Roll" When Im walking through a house (real estate videos) and round a corner into a room the gimbal rolls about 5-15 degrees and takes FOREVER to recover back to level position resulting in a worthless shot because the room is crooked, how can I fix this??
i am looking to have the basic set up of a7iii+1635mm F2.8 GM, total payload of 2.93lbs. In terms of balance, is the crane plus doable or do i need the crane 2 (a little heavier and a lot more money).
i dont have any gimbal is it worth me getting the second one? i mean the diferences between the two i feel is more of a 0.1 patch upgrade to fix the inconvienainces rather than a different version upgrade and i never knew there was another 2 out as in Crane 2 is it out now? the reason why i am saying this is i am wondering if it is better value for me to buy the first one get some DOP work wait untill they do a propper version upgrade like something to go wow and write home about then upodate is this irasional thinking? my budget is £400.00 ( i can get a crane 2 for that else were i have seen ) also what is the diference between the crane 2 and the Zhiyun 2 again is there a siginificant difference between the two?

I also didn't upgrade the firmware on my Crane v1. Battery life was never an issue for me. That quick release plate is really interesting tho. I think it's not really worth an upgrade for what I do which are mainly travel videos like these ruclips.net/video/S-kQDaGRxac/видео.html

Max, they recommend keeping the camera closer to the motor side, so always set your camera to the leftmost position and adjust the rear side

What would you prefer? The Zhiyun Crane v2 or the Zhiyun Crane 2? For the Sony A 6500 mirrorless camera with the 18-105 lens.

Hi Max, Do you know if you can charge the zhiyun crane v2 with the batteries inside? Or do you need to use the external charger supplied?
