Hi mate 👍🏻, I just purchased this Gimbal and very happy with it. I am doing my research and found your video. I am happy to subscribe to your channel and look forward to sharing videos with you. Cheers from Western Australia ✨📸✨🎬✨🎥✨🎙✨✌🏻
Great review. Can you say something about what is needed to control the camera including zoom using the buttons on the handle? Are additional cables required?
Can use canon M50 + Sigma 16 mm on this Gimbal ? I have this question because of image and body stabilization of this camera and lens. If you can answer thanks!
Hello everyone I have the Lumix G7 and I have the problem with the Tilt Axis(Up or Down Stabilization) and I found my solution. I bought two “SmallRig removable Counterweight” with 200 g each. I used one as a quick release place( since it has a 1/4 screw and a 1’4 hole so you can attach it to your camera and to the crane) and I attached the other one on the lens mounting screw to add weight to the front. Now it works perfectly! I bought the counterweights on eBay
Do you still recommend this gimbal for Sony a6000 series cameras? I was looking at Crane M2 but it will be not able to handle a6000 and Sigma's f1.4 lenses. Can you recommend a gimbal for such setup?
Hi! Thanks for the video, I have a question for you. 6:04-6:08, why did the focus changes so fast? Do you have an auto-phocus in your sony cam? I'm a bit confused how to use any gimbal with my Canon 6D, cuz all focus is manual. Can you comment it please?
Thank you, yes, I have used the autofocus. Using manual focus on gimbal is not ideal, because touching the camera while the gimbal is turned on is not good for the motors.
Were you able to balance a6500 so it stays looking up if you position it like that when gimbal is turned off? I cannot do it with any lens as the center of gravity in 6500 is too low. Camera comes back to looking forward. I can fix it with adding some weight to the top - mic - but it obstructs some movements.
The Hybrid Shooter thanks for the reply. You said something about making a video with the setup process, are you planning to make it maybe you made it but I cannot find it?
I intended to that, but the interest in this video was quite low back then, so didn't make it, I will make it if get the new Crane Plus, but there is a lot good videos on gimbal balancing on YT.
Would you say this is better then the panasonic g85 e stabilisation? Or whether there is so little difference between them there is no reason to invest in this? Excellent review though :)
Thank you!. A very nice and useful review! Just a simple question : Did you try it with lighter cameras? Can't it be used for small point-n-shoot camera of about 150 Gm? Or a Gopro or a smartphone (of course with proper adapter) for that matter? After all, who wants to buy a SmoothQ just for smartphone?
Probably the 15th video of yours that I've watched.. all of your content is super quality and you're very knowledgeable.. I expect this channel to hit 50k subs by New Year's! Keep up the good work buddy
Thank you so much! I just ordered the V2 and will be using it with my G85. Would it be too much to ask you to do a video focusing solely on using the gimbal with your G85 using the 12-60mm kit lense? I’m pretty broke right now, so I won’t be buying any lenses for a while! Thank you again
Hey, did you find a solution to balance the Sony a6500 + mc11 + 18-35? This is my setup too. I found a guy who used a cage on ir and worked perfectly, but I was loooking for something cheaper..
Can the camera be mounted that way so you are able to change batteries without dismounting? I just got my Feiyu a1000 and I am struggling to make it so. It does not allow me to put the roll axis arm to the left side. It must be on the right in my case.
thank you for this nice review! your english is better than mine I think :) Do you already know if it's better to turn off or on the image stabilisation in camera or not? because 'm looking for the panasonic gh5s but it doesn't have it so this gimbal has to do the smooth stabilisation.
Great review. I have one question for you? Have you tried any running movements with this gimbal? If not could you do a test maybe chasing someone? Thanks
Amazing review from a countrymen! Good job. I have noticed that in some parts of the video the pan is stable but very chopy. What kind of FPS did you use? I have an eye on A6300 and I was thinking to get this gimbal, plus ? lens. I love my Canon 70D but I miss 60 and 120fps at 1080p. thanks
I have now watched number of your videos and who knew there was an actual powerlifter behind all of this..;) But seriously, I find your channel to be very informative and obviously made by someone who knows his stuff. Cant be said about all camera-related content on youtube. Im currently trying to decide between the GH5 and the a6500+gimbal myself, and I find one aspect not mentioned enough in other reviews and that is the point you make about how people react to it. People in front of a camera (be it professional models or actors) act differently depending on the size and "professional" appearence of a rigg. While in a documentary setting it can be intimidating to have something like a gimbal and make people start acting rather than be authentic. In a fiction-setting it can make you look kind of amateur working with a GH5, since it looks like your normal hobby-foto-camera, rather than like the full-blown cinema-camera that it practiacally is. Those factors are not to be underestimated and Im glad your brought it up. Also interesting to find out wether that gimbal will actually make someone be able to concentrate more on the shooting itself or if maybe the IBIS on the Lumix-Cameras is in the end the less capable but also less stressfull way of getting a stable image. But then again you have to worry more about focus... oh well
Thank, I'm really glad that you like my videos. Regarding the appearance of the camera setup, advantage of both A6500 and GH5 is that you can use those with small lenses for more discreet shooting or with big adapted lenses to make it appear more seriously and maybe even add a grip. If use A6500 with native stabilized lens, IBIS and lens IS also work together, so it is definitely usable but not as good as Panasonic dual IS 2. Thank you for watching!
Since the 16mm version was announced recently, I will actually get that one instead and I will cover 30mm focal length with my 18-35mm F1.8, so in the end I will not test it with 30mm F1.4, sorry about that.
yeah, I just watched your video on the sigma zoom lens, quite impressive image-quality and surprisingly great auto-focus. But it may really be a little heavy for gimbalwork even if it is within the weight limit. Also, I know it doesnt really matter, but it kinda bothers me, that it is not a propietary lens..
I also found that you dont seem to care about two other lenses that are very popular with the a6500: 18-105mm and the 35mm1.8 . What is the reason for that?
With these gimbals you really don't get that clear stabilization. Most folks after they have filmed see that their shots are shaky or take time to level out, this is because tracking. These single pole units are only good for static shots, I find that if you get an attachment like the bars or the round grips you have more steady shots and the unit is easier to maneuver.
@@TheHybridShooter i know that that's on the limit for the gimbal because of the weight of the sigma and I've seen videos where some people can balance it and others won't. I have a quik relese plate that's pretty heavy so maybe that will help but I just want to be certain because if it wont work perfectly it doesn't really help me bbecause I want to use it for weddings
It can be done, but honestly, it is not something that I would use on daily basis, it is on the limit of what the gimbal can balance and it can be fiddly.
Hy, you make awsome videos and very helpfull. I want to ask you what camera do you use for taking your pictures into the tutorial you made ? because all the still images look so sharp :O Thank you in advance for your reply ;)
The Hybrid Shooter oooh realy ? Because I also have the sony a6500 but I don’t get so sharp pictures. I have the 18-70 f4 maybe the problem is the lens ? Can you help me please ?
The Hybrid Shooter perfect then I will think about to buy the same lens. But I think it will bee too heavy for the Zhiyun Crane V2 that I have :// maybe you can propose another lens who is also as sharp as yours ?
Sigma 16mm F1.4 and Sigma 30mm F1.4 are the only lenses that match the sharpness of 18-35, 16mm F1.4 is even a bit sharper. Sony 35mm F1.8 OSS and 50mm F1.8 OSS are just a bit behind, but also very good.
Can i do a complete 360 deg roll. The marketing and sales hype of this camera is untrue. They say 360 deg on all 3 axis. But it cannot roll more than 45 deg. Only panning and tilt i think can do 360 deg turns. Can someone confirm or is this yet another Chinese company that advertises all sorts of things which their product cannot do ?
you need to have different intonation for your voice, hahaha. the intonation of your last word for every sentence sounds the same, lol. great video btw, thanks!
I actually enjoy his accent and his way of ending sentences. It’s less lifestyle / entertaining, but awesome for facts and makes it very enjoyable for watching.
@@petrfranc8081 Vo všeobecnosti asi nie, na dnešné pomery je dosť zastaralý, hlavne je náročnejšie používať ho. Popravde ale neviem, čo iné sa dá za 100€ zohnať.

Very nice review! Question [I have Crane V1 and A6300]: with my gimbal, when mounted on a tripod or lighting stand, the PAN follow movement never really stops quick enough, takes about 8 secs to come to a complete standstill, which is different to Tilt axis, which is fine. Also, the joystick controller movement is abrupt when small deflections are input. This makes using remote on a 'live shot' impossible without adjusting max speed (when you have your camera 2m high on a stand). I have this issue reported with Zhiuyun tech services. But they won't tell me if this Is this still the same in the V2 or even the new Crane2? (Check out my 9-month old vid here ruclips.net/video/imruLnhg4nI/видео.html) Thanks bro
Thanks, my V2 doesn't do that, the movement stop immediately, even with stock settings, maybe check if the pan axis is balanced correctly (when you hold the gimbal horizontaly) that may cause the delay. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for your reply, yes everything is balanced etc, must be a firmware issue then! PS I have a baseplate on the bottom of mine which I can also mount an external monitor on, plus a nice handle from the gimbalshop, modified, makes life a lot easier!
Thanks for the review. But i beg to differ that the smooth connect or whatever they call their app works fine. Its terribly buggy. Unintuitive and seriously crippled. It will never connect when you want it to. And they dont have a dedicated app for Crane V2. What a laughing stock of a company, shows off the true Chinese product tradition, with bad convoluted broken English manual. The company asks me to TRY USING ONE OF THEIR APPS with my new V2 and it might work. I asked them that motion time;lapse was promised, but they say "yeah but it doesn't work properly for now". Just get a DJI gimbal, nowadays their price is as cheap as Zhiyun etc, but at least the menus will be in proper English (even though even they are a Chinese company). This gimbal cant do a 360 roll or the inception effect as all other gimbals do. I can go on with its disabilities.
I have also had some issues with some of their gimbals (not the V2). Fortunately, everything works great with the latest Zhiyun gimbal that I have, so it seems like they are finding the app. As far as I know V2 is not supposed to have time lapse mode at all.
@@TheHybridShooter It does have a timelapse mode and was confirmed with the regional office of Zhiyun before i bought it. You can see a few RUclips videos also with the V2 doing Timelapses. The thing is the timelapse is horribly implemented, crude and has no pause times etc. No variation in times between points. Either if its available it should work well or it shouldnt be implemented. What i hate is these cheap chinese companies dishing out half baked goods with false promises.
I wasn't able to find any time lapse videos shot with Crane V2, I am pretty sure, that timelapse function was added with Crane Plus. Zhiyun office must have made a mistake.
@@TheHybridShooter Hi There, No no im absolutely sure. Because ive used it, of course its extremly buggy and will freeze halfway thru. But its there. Even yesterday after replying to you i saw another video on YT showing a time-lapse with the V2. I used it too, the regional office guys were saying "try the smooth app" "OK that doesnt work ? try this app ?" This is the professionalism of Zhiyun, they themselves don't know and its a mess. They are shooting the breeze to see which app (made for their other gimbals, works for the V2". Real confidence booster. I would advise anyone to alternatively pick up the DJI RONIN SC, ITS CHEAPER THAN THE V2 and blows the V2 out of the water. It has a perfect APP made for it. Not patch work jobs. And it has awesome features. Better joystick. More compact. More weight load capacity, over 2kgs vs 1.8kg here. Awesome Velocity control or something they call it where it moves as your phone moves. Proper timelapse. A PROPER ENGLISH manual. Proper meaningful buttons in the APP interface. I could go on and on. Its a no-brainer.
Gee, I wish you wouldn't put that upward inflection on the end of every sentence. You almost lost it when you started to demo, but sadly it came back. It makes your voice very hard to listen to. Any more than 10 minutes of it and I'd be switching off. Sorry.

Yes, you can.

which gear did you use for record this video?
Hello everyone I have the Lumix G7 and I have the problem with the Tilt Axis(Up or Down Stabilization) and I found my solution.
I bought two “SmallRig removable Counterweight” with 200 g each.

Do you still recommend this gimbal for Sony a6000 series cameras? I was looking at Crane M2 but it will be not able to handle a6000 and Sigma's f1.4 lenses. Can you recommend a gimbal for such setup?
The best one is Weebill S. This one is now a bit outdated.

But then again you have to worry more about focus... oh well
Oh and I cant wait to see you test the sigma 30mm on the gimbal. Amazing lens obviously, but will the autofocus work well enough on this one?
Where can i find the quick release for my panasonic g85
You can buy it here: bit.ly/2qy2FHB
The Hybrid Shooter thxx mate
I ended up buying it thanks lol
How is it?
Will I be able to balance a canon 200d and a sigma 18-35?
It will, but you will need longer base plate or cage.
Can I mount a Nikon z6 on this
I would suggest something larger for Z6
Canon 70D isn’t too heavy for this, right?
depends on the lens.
Hy, you make awsome videos and very helpfull. I want to ask you what camera do you use for taking your pictures into the tutorial you made ? because all the still images look so sharp :O
Thank you in advance for your reply ;)
Thank you, I shoot stills for this videos with Nikon D5500 and 40mm F2.8 micro or Sony A6500 and Sigma 18-35mm f1.8
The Hybrid Shooter oooh realy ? Because I also have the sony a6500 but I don’t get so sharp pictures. I have the 18-70 f4 maybe the problem is the lens ? Can you help me please ?
Yes, that is probably the problem,18-35mm F1.8 that I use is much sharper than 16-70mm F4.
Just found this for 200 new at bestbuy had to pick it up.
Tyty 🙏🏽
Can i do a complete 360 deg roll. The marketing and sales hype of this camera is untrue. They say 360 deg on all 3 axis. But it cannot roll more than 45 deg. Only panning and tilt i think can do 360 deg turns. Can someone confirm or is this yet another Chinese company that advertises all sorts of things which their product cannot do ?
still ok to buy now in 2023?
It will get the job done, but I would recommend something more modern.
@@TheHybridShooter but $150 is tempting... own a dji-m but all the batteries have bricked and will never buy dji again for that reason.
Is this V2 Gimbal still working as of 2019?
Yes, it is.
@@TheHybridShooter Thank you
you need to have different intonation for your voice, hahaha.
the intonation of your last word for every sentence sounds the same, lol.
great video btw, thanks!
Thank you!
I have to agree with Hanif. Otherwise, everything else in your reviews are accurate and great.
I actually enjoy his accent and his way of ending sentences. It’s less lifestyle / entertaining, but awesome for facts and makes it very enjoyable for watching.
Dutch accent, right?
paraclete norseman I am from Slovakia, but people usually think that I am from Norway, Sweden or Denmark, sometimes Netherlands as well.
Hahah nice bench 👍
Thank you!
@@TheHybridShooter a v cem zastaraly? Zda se mi ze stabilizaci jako takovou to v pohode zvlada a velky rozdil to nebude a o tom to je, jedine to ovladani si rikam a to mi snad tak nevadi
Like 4:25 )) krasava
Damn 3 plates? 315lbs???
Yes, that is correct :)
Random flex but okay
Why not...
This things officially a piece of shit. You spend hours and hours trying to balance it to shoot ones only to get about a minute of shooting
You don't how to operate it a balance it properly in that case. Balancing doesn't take more 2-5 minutes.
Weird Flex but ok
Gee, I wish you wouldn't put that upward inflection on the end of every sentence. You almost lost it when you started to demo, but sadly it came back. It makes your voice very hard to listen to. Any more than 10 minutes of it and I'd be switching off. Sorry.
