You are 100% correct in regard to the follow focus mini rod attachment. The hot set up would be a super light quick release plate with real shot rod(s). That way, the follow focus would move with the plate. If the gear depth was greater on the follow focus it might work by not having to snug it as tight.
Lol after watching this video a few times, I dunno why people are complaining about the lack of 120p in the new cameras. The slowmo PJ has achieved in 60p looks just as amazing as PM's slowmo in 120 on his 1dx2. Amazing work bud! Keep it up!
the reason its vibrating is because of the weight, yes zhiyun can support the weight of the camera but when you titled in that way or certain angles your putting strain on the motors. I use this for weddings and other client work..im a professional photographer from Northern Ireland. hope this helps.
The focus rail has a hole in it designed for an allen key to go through to give you more leverage to tighten it. But I have just started underslinging it like you mentioned which works for all my lenses.
Dude, I trust your videos more than those other RUclipsrs that in recent months are talking about how good the Ronin is and yet all they mainly do are product reviews and no actual hours spent on filmmaking!!! Yah I know, this vid is talking about the crane 2...
I might be mistaken but the vibration dance sounds like what Panasonic described when they made the GH5s (with no stabilization). Your issue is due to your lens being stabilized. That introduces tiny vibrations that the gimbal then tries to correct which makes the lens IS try to fire up even more. You end up with a rig that vibrates as two forms of stabilization fight each other.
When it does that turn off the lens stabilization and see if it stops. And try running it without lens stabilization - you'll get no vibration fits if my theory is correct.
If your gonna use a battery pack or 1dx on it, get the replacment extension plate and you wont have any issues. I shoot with a 1dx and a 24-70 2.8 and have never had issues with balancing or shake.
I had the same vibrations in some specific positions and rebalancing solved it. Also lowering the motor strenght helps sometimes. About the height - there is a special arm replacement for this gimbal that allows it to lower the camera even further. They made it after 1dxII users made complains. About the follow focus - there is a new model where this problem you were talking about is fixed :). There is only one issue with this gimbal that I can't fix so far and it is a bug maybe. When you lower the handle more than 45 degrees it stops controling the follow left-right and if you rotate the handle and start raising it back to vertical it freaks out. But yes I love the Crane 2, in my opinion it is the best one hand gimbal out there not only as a unit but also as a system because there are a lot of accessories out there for this. I can't wait to see what will come next from them.
Btw that follow focus mounting "pipe" can be tighten with for ie screwdriver, that's why there's hole in middle of pipe. You get it so tight it can't opened by hand.
Isn‘t the slow motion also „smoothing“ some of the unwanted movements? To really show the stabilization of the gimbal without an image stabilizating lens I would prefer videos at normal speed. 🙂
Peeps, I have a 77d with a 35-135mm. And it would vibrate on medium. I set it to low and it worked. For being that tall with the battery grip, you have to unscrew the tilt axis until you can jerk the arm past the notch and bring the arm down to flush. Orrrrr....you can buy the gravity mount or extension they released. If you can manage a cage, you can mount the servo off that.
what would you reccomend me getting for my gh5 and ninja V idk if this dual grip is that good are there better ones? i also have the servo but having same problems with getting loose
OK, I don't normally comment but: You owned my attention when you put the C100MKII on there....and I haven't watched the damn segment yet. You're a great V-Logger. Nice work. Dan.
you should change the strength of the motors to prevent that vibrations, i had the same thing with my crane plus/a6300 , motors were set to strong then i lowered to medium and no more vibrations . Simply because the camera wasn't heavy enough to use all that motor strength
Didn't even notice the big dog had 3 legs until I looked closely and man is he/she a trooper and very inspiring watch. Oh Great Vid by the way currently considering getting a Crane 2 or V2 this helped a lot.
The batteries are why I went with dji my ronin m and s last for days without charging I really think its preference on your choice of stabilizers. I have never had battery issues and I have had my ronin m for over three years maybe you just had a faulty battery.
Two handle gimbal are so much easier to use for this kind of setup ! Too bad Feiyutech gave up their old designer, I loved being able to switch from one to two grip handle easilly... The A2000 is still a solid solution for that in my book, but obviously the new designs with 45 degree motor that show the monitor is pretty useful... ended up getting a 5th axis stabilizer that I can grab with two hands :)
Seal the thread of the rod by installing a proper size o-ring to the thread of the screw, then screw it in tighly after that you would not have a loose rod issue anymore i think..
You can try to make an external battery pack with 18650 batteries, and power everything with cables. Im now able to shoot raw video for over 1 hour on a 5D mark2, without battery change.
Great review. Did you figure out what is causing the vibration? I plan to buy one in next coming weeks. But worried about the vibration. This is the first review i have seen it. Thanks
Hi, how are you? I have an XEEN 50mm T1.5 lens and I want to place it in a Canon C200 4k camera but I need an adapter and I don't know which is the ideal adapter, can you please help me?
Welcome to WA state! ;-) I've been researching gimbals lately, for either a Canon M5 mirrorless or maybe C100 Mk2 but, I'm leaning towards just a small gimbal for the M5 since I worry that my old weak Mr. Burns arms couldn't handle a gimbaled C100 for more than 5 minutes! ;-) Thanks for the video!
The cinema lens was cool, but you were not able to flip the handle from vertical to horizontal, correct? If so, that's my biggest issue. I wish the pan and roll handles were 2 inch longer so when one uses front heavy lens and needs to pull the whole setup backwards it is still able to rotate without camera's viewfinder hitting the back motor. For example, I want to use this gimbal with its monopod and the most natural position is keeping the monopod close to horizontally, hold it with both hands, and let the strap help you out with the weight. Unfortunately not possible as the camera hits the back motor.
do you have video about a gimbal that can be used for say something the weight of a Nikon A6000, iphone 8 plus down to a gropro sessions? I'm looking for an all in one
is it possible to have a middle ground when you have a short lens and a follow focus at the same time for the love of god let me know because I have not found it when it comes to just getting balance the camera properly lmk
I have a DS1 and it vibrates when the camera display is popped out. when it's closed, vibration does not ocur. seems to be a feedback gain because of the display micro flexing with the gimbal adjustments
I've got the Ronin S and it had some vibration problems but I went into the settings and made some adjustments and it took care of it. I just don't remember what the settings I changed were.
Did you figure out what was the cause of the vibration and how to solve it? I’ve noticed that my crane 2 does the same thing with the 5D mark Iv with 24-105 mm lens. It happens especially when i have RODE shotgun mic on top of camera...can you please help?
It's vibration dance....and sometimes the kid's ferbie multiplies when you get it wet, nothing to worry about, just wondering where the other ferbies are now.
Great content as always! If you haven't already bought a synthetic roller for the right side of your dog, would you be open to one?I feel like it would alleviate any potential stress your dog has because he has to compensate the left side of this body.
Zhiyun let that gimbal power up all devices around , but why no power input for gimbal itself.. usually gimbal is the 1st thing is going out of battery
Got a problem. I need a gimble that takes just the 'SHACK' out of my video. I shoot R/C Model Planes and getting older. I can track the planes no matter where they go but it's the shake even a stabilized lens can't deal with. Any Suggestions on how to set up a Gimbel just to eliminate 'SHAKE'? . Tried Tripods, Mono Pods, Shoulder supports, even gun stock type devices
Only the Potato can make some chair b roll look amazing.
Michael Pruett yep. Same
not even PM?
That's what I thought too
i would scroll to the comments to read yours immediately that chair scene.

"I need a good clickbaity thumbnail". Your honesty is refreshing, sir. Consider me subscribed.

That part isn't the problem, the problem is the mini-rod that attaches to the part to which you refer
@@blazintommydblazintommyd4416 This I meant ruclips.net/video/aNFVnok3sA4/видео.html
you're the first video person i've seen using that handle! I purchased it immediately!!! Now i can put my light on it!! PRAISE JEEBUS
9:33 woah its the first time i see this followfocus in action,
It looks so nice :o
Your clickbaits worked on me in the past, but not anymore. I just watch your vlog stuff because I wanna see awesome potato stuff
Dude your videos are fantastic! I always look forward to watching them when they come out.
Isn‘t the slow motion also „smoothing“ some of the unwanted movements? To really show the stabilization of the gimbal without an image stabilizating lens I would prefer videos at normal speed. 🙂
You have to use the the allen key to tighten the rod. That's why it has holes in it. Do that and you won't have to worry about it getting loose again.
I just purchased the Zhiyun Crane 2 Gimbal and I have Nikon D500. What control cable do I use to connect the gimbal and Nikon camera?
Yes if you update the crane
Santa Monica seems like a RUclipsrs paradise. There are so many things to film there

You should send this video to your Canadian buddy Matti so he can learn how to properly operate the Crane 2. Great video like always.
👍🏼 Great idea using the GoPro to shoot the gimbal. Cool effect.
you should change the strength of the motors to prevent that vibrations, i had the same thing with my crane plus/a6300 , motors were set to strong then i lowered to medium and no more vibrations . Simply because the camera wasn't heavy enough to use all that motor strength
That moment when the clickbaity thumbnail isnt working because i immediately click on the video as soon as it was notified that it was uploaded..
That vibration might be a huge problem for me if it happens randomly but besides that looks like it comes with tons of features m plus it’s smooth
Didn't even notice the big dog had 3 legs until I looked closely and man is he/she a trooper and very inspiring watch. Oh Great Vid by the way currently considering getting a Crane 2 or V2 this helped a lot.
keep at it man! you'll be big soon!
Absolutely genius "camera gimbal cam" aka the GoPro footage is epic!
Select (high) on "motor" options in your gimbal, to stop shaking.
I would take that crane set up apart. That’s looks too beautiful ❤️
Gene, ur vids are of extreme excellence! (Btw, gimbal is vibrating because it’s excited to be working with you.)
What brand is the grip handle that you have attached to your Zhiyun Crane 2...?
Would also like to know
Ronin s has no issues with the 1dx once u get it balanced. Other than doing that infinite roll. Also no vibration issue
The batteries are why I went with dji my ronin m and s last for days without charging I really think its preference on your choice of stabilizers. I have never had battery issues and I have had my ronin m for over three years maybe you just had a faulty battery.
LEFTY
Wow i cant believe you made the C200 work!
sanding that chair was amazing... lucky man.
the dog at the end is amazing
Nice gear! Love learning about these products.

Are we just going to pretend your hair didn't magically change from one scene to the next? Super transition 😁
what type of power cable does it use
You can try to make an external battery pack with 18650 batteries, and power everything with cables.
Im now able to shoot raw video for over 1 hour on a 5D mark2, without battery change.
Great video.....you get hair cut?
Yup.very good gimbal.I use it for almost a year now
I love your jazzy dogs!
Great vid! Loved the dog in the end!
Follow the damn train Potato Jet!
Great review. Did you figure out what is causing the vibration? I plan to buy one in next coming weeks. But worried about the vibration. This is the first review i have seen it. Thanks
WHAT!!! your going to Spokane wa. that's just right up the road from me? crazy!!
Hi. Please I need to find a replacement cable for my canon 80 D to the crane two. I keep buying the wrong ones.
Can you try and do the same thing with the DJI Ronin-s?
Great video 🎬🎬
Hi, how are you? I have an XEEN 50mm T1.5 lens and I want to place it in a Canon C200 4k camera but I need an adapter and I don't know which is the ideal adapter, can you please help me?
When u attach a monitor on gimbal it ruins the stabalization.. The cable interferes.. What is the solution?
Welcome to WA state! ;-) I've been researching gimbals lately, for either a Canon M5 mirrorless or maybe C100 Mk2 but, I'm leaning towards just a small gimbal for the M5 since I worry that my old weak Mr. Burns arms couldn't handle a gimbaled C100 for more than 5 minutes! ;-) Thanks for the video!

Why do you always make simple things awesome in your videos?
Awesome video as always!
Once again - a great video!! BTW Your dogs are really cute...
do you have video about a gimbal that can be used for say something the weight of a Nikon A6000, iphone 8 plus down to a gropro sessions? I'm looking for an all in one
nice, trick question. nothing can hold a nikon A6000 cause at that point the world implodes. touché.
Alex Valenzuela OOPS! i mean coolpix A900. (i was looking at Sonys and had 6000 on the brain)
Great visuals and very comprehensive!
If you dont mind keeping the rod on you can put some loctite on the threads.
Crane 2 is a little bit heavy for me and it is not so smooth when i use the button, it's hard to adjust the balance when it shaking strongly.
I knew i recognized that pier haha, miss that place
Wow, this looks amazing. Have you tried other products by Zhiyun?
i watched another crane video that said the jittering could be solved by doing a calibration test or something like that.
Great video mate, just thinking about buying the Crane 2. May I ask what seamless ring you use on the Sigma 18-35? Cheers!
nice video bro....your arsenal of equipment looksawesome.
i'm totally going to try my 1dx mk ii my RED epic-w and my new Sony pxw-z280 camcorder !!! i'm stoked !!!
is it possible to have a middle ground when you have a short lens and a follow focus at the same time for the love of god let me know because I have not found it when it comes to just getting balance the camera properly lmk
Was the hair and wardrobe change another one of your camera tricks?
Did you solved the vibrations?
go to menu and change settings for motor when it vibrates :) you are welcome.
when i connect moitor with zhiyun crane 2 monitor gives me black screen but when i remove crane cable its work can u help me plz
Maybe the vibration shake attribute to the payload.
that handle should go very well with the Ronin S
where did you get that HDMI cable so thin??
Entertaining Potato!
I have a DS1 and it vibrates when the camera display is popped out. when it's closed, vibration does not ocur.

how did you rig the zhiyun crane 2? whats that attachment called so we can put monitors?
Yess amazing video! Everything right now is about the DJI Ronin S but loving the Crane 2 :)
It's vibration dance....and sometimes the kid's ferbie multiplies when you get it wet, nothing to worry about, just wondering where the other ferbies are now.
Did you just start using this gimbal? I filmed with it in Japan for 2 weeks on a 5D set up. I loved the footage and got buff arms!
what kond of batterie are them? can I use them for my speedlite, trigger or milkshaker?
Great content as always! If you haven't already bought a synthetic roller for the right side of your dog, would you be open to one?I feel like it would alleviate any potential stress your dog has because he has to compensate the left side of this body.

Zhiyun let that gimbal power up all devices around , but why no power input for gimbal itself.. usually gimbal is the 1st thing is going out of battery
Hey! S/O to Spokane! Live right by there!

sigma fpL, nanomorph lens, crane m3s gimbal, dpl Lite SSD rack, my smartphione as monitor. this way i can rig it on a boom pole and raise it 5 meters!
possibly the best review of the crane 2 - ty - what do you think of the crane 3 vs the ronin s?
Awesome video! Way better than the cringy videos on the Zhiyun channel.
gave you some love on your LUTS package. take care!!
