Sticking a ext Storia v3 on my Bronson V4 was a big improvement for alps riding, I feel I have no issues at all with braking bumps and roots, it just soaks them up, it always the front end I have more issues with now
Still on my sommet 🤙 just had full bearing suspension service fella great again.. maybe keep saving for something new next year.. miss vitus being around doh
I was seriously looking into a coil, then got a new bike that came with an X2, and honestly a well dialed X2 is right up there with all but the best coils with the added benefits of an air shock, I would assume you'd get similar results from a well dialed RS Vivid. I think you'd need something like an EXT or Push coil to get a significant improvement.
Dude I did not know you ride a Sommet. I bought the CRX Sommet frame in 2021 when it came out and did a dream build on it. Funnest enduro bike I ever rode. Vitus was a legendary brand and sorry to see it go. Hope it comes back and I miss chain Reaction Cycles too. Man times have sure changed
Funny how fashions change. It wasnt long ago that air was the new thing. Why do i feel this is just another marketing ploy by the industry to get us the consumer to buy more stuff...
Some manufacturers claim to produce a ‘coil feel’ with their air shocks but I personally feel, over a long, demanding descent there is no substitute for a coil. Happy to be proven wrong though
Nope will now stay or may make air spring in the backseat, they literally delayed coil spring in favor of air, they know coil has been around and they need to exploit air spring market
Defo my next upgrade to that base e-sommet u sold me,will match the sprung Domain I've shoved on the front.

Get a Grip X2. The front will be a dream!

For me the coil just feels a lot more capable than the old air shock I had. I guess it’s different for everyone though
@@TheBikeStudio the difference between a previous gen superdeluxe and x2 is in my experience bigger than between an x2 and dhx2 coil shock.

Used to create content for them and once owned a fleet of E-Sommets. Very sad to see them go. Still rocking the Sommet though! 🤘
@@TheBikeStudio Right on man I love that. 🙏🙏🔥
good move, man!
Why thank you 🙏

Your bang on the button mate
Progressive coil front next
Would love to try a coil fork. Haven’t ridden one since a Z1 from 2012
@@TheBikeStudioYou have CaneCreek, MRP, rockshox coil conversion by vorsprung
Also Formula
@@portugalsud2924 what to you favour out of those 4 options ? vorsprung ?
I suppose on an ebike it's a no brainer
@@elvislad honestly with the lockout function it’s a no brainer on any enduro bike
