- Putting back a VW DSG Mechatronic unit after splitting it apart to clean and change some valves.
I did it as I could, where I could and how I knew :) I'm still learning.

Bravo frate. am incercat si eu cu o cutie de bmw 5e40 dar pe vremea aia nu erau de gasit corpuri de valvule ceea ce era defect la a mea ,si doar i-am schimbat setul de discuri. Bine-nteles ca a durat putin .Mai era varianta modificarii corpului meu de valvule dar erau mai scumpe sculele decat cutia.:)
De obicei ceea ce se strica la o cutie automata e corpul de valvule ,fac joc si nu mai inchid corespunzator. Bravo inca o data.

I am working on the same VW mechatronic unit, a DSG DQ250 02E and I have a question about the wires that are connected internally from the circuit board to the connectors. I found two wires that have become detached from the circuit board and wondering if soldering would be an effective way to reconnect the wires to the pads ? It appears they wires were LASER soldered or ultrasonically attached, they do not appear to have been soldered. I am considering to use conductive epoxy ...or solder. I am skilled with both but hesitant to use solder since they were not originally soldered. Can you please share your experience and advice with how to attach these wires ? Thanks

@MyEyesBled Well, my spoken english is not the best :) but I got the message and will try to do this with voice instead of tune but the video would maybe be to long. Will try even so :)
Is the fail there all the time or only when hot ? Chances to be able to fix it are 10-15%.

Thanks for the video, I have a Golf here with 02E g/box, the g/box only works when the engine is up to normal operating temperature. I thinking this could be a connection problem inside on the main PCB, what do you think?
Then i think the problem would be old thick oil , clogged filter or similar . If PCB is gone then the symptoms appear only when hot.
GigiBelea, you are really a master, and i am wondering if you can help my problem , i find my dsg gear box valve body crash cause of the reverse gear solenoid , do you think anywhere that i can get this solenoid ? and the oem 09G tf60sn valve body fit my 2005 golf gti dsg ?

Salut, am si eu o Octavia 2 2.0 TDI DSG 6. Cutia merge bine, dar cand pornesc de pe loc nu pot accelera direct dupa ce iau piciorul de pe frana, trebuie s-o las sa porneasca singura dupa care accelerez si schimba ok. Daca accelerez imediat dupa ce iau piciorul de pe frana da in nas. Ce se poate face? Merci.
Great video, I just replaced my Mechatronic Unit from my 2004 Audi A3 at my local Audi dealer, I was able to keep the replaced unit, do you have any idea if it has any market value as it needs to be repaired ?

Hello, URGENT HELP NEEDED. I got a flashing PRNDS light on my dashboard. We did a scan and got TRANSMISSION FLUID SENSOR/SWITCH 1 MALFUNCTION AND INTERNALCONTROL MODULE OUTPUT:OUTPUT DRIVE IC ERROR. Are these items in the mechatronic unit? IF so, do i have to change the whole mechatronic or there is a solution? It is a GOLF DSG7 2009. Please help

what fluid you have use to clean up the mechatronic and solenoid , valves
my issue in my dsg 6 speed gearbox it was stuck in one shift and car does not respond to turn it on
when the mechanic check it on computer it have no errors registered on OBD
so we take the gearbox off we found it was stuck and mechatronic was ok in OBD but it seems the valves and solenoids have some mechanical thing so i will clean it from any stuck cause by unchanged gearbox oil
You can use anything that does not contain Acetone. If you have brake cleaner without acetone you can use that.
What I can use to clean valves and solenoids... How I can do to know they work fine... I measure they by avometer and they give its correct reads... And there is no errors in computer check are founded from mechatronic

I have to change the N91 solenoid on my mech unit, and would like to know if I can do it without taking the unit out of the gearbox (only by removing the cover and the electrical circuit), and what kind of cleaning fluid do you use (I have read that Teflon gaskets doesn't like a lot of cleaning fluids).

I would say that Teflon is just a fluoridated rubber by definition and thus what ever cleans rubber well would be good as adding fluoride to the rubber just makes it stronger.
Depends what is fried. If is the main TCM then not so much, if only some valves then yes , usable.
Having worked on other VW valve bodies, I know that if you tighten the screws too much...you'll end up with valves sticking. And it doesn't take much. The difference between 15 in lbs & 20 in lbs can make a valve stick. Plus, you never use a rag on a valve body. Ever. This was taught to me in basic transmission building years and years ago. The lint will also cause a valve to stick especially in these aluminum valve bodies and valves.
Many things have changed since you worked on valve bodies, but yes, the force you use to tighten the valve body TO THE gearbox is important. In this case less important is the tightening force of the valves to the body. Since I made the video I had many in my hands and my hands didn't failed me until now :) This video is just to show they can be cleaned and not that cleaning it it will cure the problem.

@GigiBelea I get the PRNDS Flash of death. Scanned it and it says N215 bad. You think if I replace it, that should fix the problem?... Sell me it :)

outofreason3 trebuie mutat softul de pe cel vechi pe cel nou. Hardware number trebuie sa fie acelasi sau cel putin compatibil ca sa mearga miscarea.
Salut Gigi, te rog spune]mi cat crezi ca mai pot merge cu o cutie DSG care din cand in cand 'sare din viteza' cand este in Drive? Este vorba de o Skoda Octavia 2 din 2006 cu care vreau sa ajung in Romania. Multumesc anticipat!

Perhaps you can help me diagnose the problem I am having. I have flashing PRNDS on my instrument cluster
I have the following DTC codes
17224 - transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch 1 (P0840 - 000 - Malfunction)
17229 - transmission fluid pressure sensor /switch 2 (P0845 - 000 - Malfunction)
18154 - transmission Solenoid power relay (P1746 - 000 - Electrical Malfunction)
I want to make sure it is a solenoid issue before I do the repair.
I cannot find any information regarding the last code. Where is this relay located? I'm assuming it is inside the transmission because I plugged another working transmission to the connector on the vehicle and the PRDNS stopped flashing and dtc were no longuer present. So this eliminates the possibility of bad ground/battery or power supply going to the transmission
Please let me know your input on this because I have a spare mechatronic unit I can take the solenoid from.

Am un passat cc din 2011, 2.0diesel, 170HP, cutie DSG.
Cam de doua saptamana a inceput sa faca figuri cand schimb din D in R, dureaza 2-4 sec. pana sa intre in viteza si se aud niste zgomote ciudate in cutie, din R in D schimbare de face destul de repede, nu pare ca ar fi o problema.
La acceleratie din treapta 1 pana in treapta 6, in afara faptului ca uneori smunceste putin la trecerea din treapta 2 in treapta 3, totul pare sa functioneze perfect.
Spune-mi te rog care poate fi cauza si cat timp mai am la dispozitie pana sa nu mai mearga deloc? :)
+alexandru chifu Fa-i o resetare a cutiei, "Basic Settings" si vezi daca isi revine. Sa ai uleiul schimbat la timp si filtrul.
Multumesc frumos pentru sfat! Uleiul si filtrul l-am schimbat acum 28000km la reprezentanta. Masina acum are 210000km dar nu am nici o dovada cum ca a mai fost facut schimbul vreodata pana sa iau eu masina...

my gear bix went dead...and found oil under the bonet....and the repair man said mechatronic is gone...

Can AJ units be swapped for another suffix mechatronic?
Yes, you can install ANY unit IF the software fits the hardware model. Recommend swapping AJ with AL or AM units , much better.
@@GigiBeleaDK Thank you for the response. I've had an AJ that's been problematic for a few years. All that should be needed is the DSG basic settings once swapped?

George Geo - Ia un VCDS si logheaza presiune pe ambreaje. Vezi daca scade sau e constanta. Kituri nu am dar am componente separate. Ai facut o adaptare sa vezi daca nu dispare problema ?
am un vcds si o sa fac testul.readaptare am vrut sa fac singura problema e ca aici unde sunt ma costa injur de 400-500 euro sa o fac si nu prea imi vine.dar o sa fac testul vcds si o sa iti spun ce imi apare

am facut si un test vcds pt ambreaj dar nu intele mare lucru :) ,preisune ambreiaj am gasit una singura si fluctua dar nu foarte mult!

You won't get to the teflon gasket when changing only one solenoid.
Salut, am si eu o problema cu DSG-ul meu, am eroare care nu se sterge senzorul G182 (rpm input si clutch temperature sensor), l-am inlocuit odata cu uleiul si filtrul dar tot nu se sterge, iar cand merg cu masina dupa ce a stationat mai multe ore (la rece) dupa 10 min de mers incepe sa amestece vitezele si sa schimbe cu socuri. O opresc, pornesc din nou motorul si merge perfect toata ziua.PRND nu pulseaza si nu se aprinde cu rosu. Daca ai vreo idee pls da-mi un mesaj alex26myr@yahoo.com Multumes
