As a 53 yr old man I must admit to feeling a little embarrassed by the tears rolling down my cheeks as I watched this but hey, such was the beauty, power & magic of Catweazle. Thank you.
I can completely identify with that. It was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful man, who gifted us all so richly with his very soulful and utterly persuasive performance. A great thing to have been able to do, and so well done. It is a perfect tribute in spirit and monument: seldom do we get to say just the right thing in just the right way to someone we've loved so completely.
Wonderful to see this. I love good old cat weazle. RIP dear.Greetings from Germany.I always have a tear in my eye ,when I see old pictures from lovely goodhearted catweazle. This was much better world like today.
I was 5 years old in 1970 and I thought Catweazle was a truly wonderful programme. I am 57 now and a few years ago I bought the box set of Catweazle and enjoyed it just as much as I did all those years ago. It was one of those programmes that made you feel safe as a young child. Always shown on a Sunday afternoon when life simple and I had no worries
50 years on from when it was first broadcast and I am watching the series again thanks to the magic of electrickery. Watching it again now it is a TV show which is more than the sum of it's parts, a charming and heart warming tale of Catweazle and Carrot's friendship as they rescue each other from loneliness and misunderstanding. Catweazle so expertly played by Geoffrey Bayldon now sadly departed from this mortal realm but his spirit must surely live forever.
Fabulous, just binged watched ALL the episodes and now at 60 years old, still enjoyed them. Possibly more than I did as a child due to my understanding of the professionalism, writing, Geoffrey's skills and personality to BE Catweazle, nobody else could have done it! Plus the abilities of the crews involved. Oh and moved to tears, 'PROUDLY' as well.
How wonderful, Catweazle was a fabulous show, brought to life by Mr Bayldon in such a fantastic way that we all talked about it in playgrounds up and down the land, a magical part of my childhood. Thank you Mr Bayldon for throwing yourself into the role, body and soul. XxX
Hi Hughie. I believe the club is visiting Brickendonbury again next year. Contact Carol Barnes through the website and she'll give you details of how you can be involved.
i'm from holland, and i turn 50 this month, and i loved catweazle as i love alot of british tv series from the 70's and 80's, and i think it's great that these people took the time to honor this lovely man and let him know that we didn't forgot him, and that he's still alive and get al the credit he deserves. Now does this great man have an email adres, because i would love to send him an email and thank him for the great times he gave us when we were young kids. And there's no money in the world that can replace a thank you and a compliment, and that is what i like to give this lovely old man.
Fantastic........a pleasure to see. Geoffrey kindly autographed my 'Catweazle' DVD box set. He is still so passionate about that part even after all these years. A genuinely nice man who as Catweazle, I was but a mere child and loved that programme. They say 'They don't make them like that anymore'...well, what a pity but what a blessing to be old enough to watch it back then as a child......such happy times where life seemed so much better. x
Only 2 series.... best part of 50 years ago... yet recalled with affection by so many. I wonder how many sub-prime TV series made today will be remembered' in 2068? The golden age of TV = 1960s to 1980ish - Blue Peter, Crackajack, Jackanory, Worzel Gummidge, Camberwick Green etc etc. Try to tell your grand kids and they can barely raise their heads up from their phones to yawn at you. Yet one knows that they are bored and listless because 'something' is missing from their lives......
Wonderful! What a great creation and tribute to 'Catweazle'..and to such a fine actor!

Can't believe I have only just found this, but so glad I have. Watched Catweazle on dvd as a kid all the time. Now 25, still love the show. So emotional to watch this. A great actor and a great man.
Thank You Very Much for sharing this beautiful Bust of Catweazle unveiling video, Vince 😊 A massive smile and tears in my eyes…….. This is definitely the ‘Pure Magic’ (Writing, Acting, and characterisations) of Catweazle ! Thank You and Take Care 👍
This is very special I watched Catweazle when t was originally shown and the magic spell it put on me has never worn off Thankyou to Geoffrey and everybody involved with this beautiful tribute and TV show.
Thank you for sharing this video, an important piece of television history, and how we loved to watch Catweazle.....R.I.P. Dear Geoffrey Bayldon, and thank you....
The Catweazle bust is absolutely superb in its likeness. So many of these don't look like their subjects, but this bust is exceptional! Very very impressive!
Catweazle was a very special production, it was dearly loved in our family-I'm so pleased my mother got to see a repeat of it before she passed away in 2004, deeply moving to see Geoffrey unveil this splendid bust, I hope to visit it when I next return home to the U.K. Thank you so much for uploading this.
A great clip thanks and to a great actor I adored the series of Catwazel from my childhood one in a million RIP Geoffery xx May you have found your past xx
What a pleasure to see this video. More to the point, what a fantastic likeness of Geoffrey Bayldon, and how lovely that it was he who should unveil it. Thanks for posting this, still watch some of the old episodes when I get nostalgic for more innocent days gone by!
Best Video on You Tube. I have had the Catweazle tune as my phone ringtone for many years, and i refuse to change it. If it rings whilst i am in town or in a shop people approach me and say "I know that tune but cant think what it is" :-) My Notification text tune is Worzel Gummidge :-) .............. Great video a massive thanks for sharing!
There is so much love in all that is Catweazle, it grows stronger with the passing of time....the haunting music that accompanies Catweazles return reminds of the scenes in Kes where Billy is training the hawk...
Like Peter Sellers,Clousau Geoffrey could never be replaced,he has made the character his own.since watching later as an adult i never realised as a kid how brilliant he was.
So very special in every way. Thanks for posting this lovely tribute to a superb, funny, intriguing and heartwarming character and those who brought him to life.
Wonderful evocative piece. Lovely to have this at Brickendon where so many of us have memories of a golden childhood with Catweazle. Thanks for putting this on here.
So wunderfull the series of history mixed in modern times, so dearly memory of Actor geoffrey alias Catweazle, in my first years back in Harlingen, port Frisia after years on public school in Noviomagum(Nijmegen). Now studying on the Beowulf epos, trying and learning the speech Old English, and even so, playing the Prittlewell Lyre.... Yet inspired by Catweazle’s readings... Shalmey, Dalmey Adonay....and the fear of the Norman conquerors and ‘vikings’ devistating Early Christian culture in Lindisfarme Holy island...
What a lovely tribute. So glad that Geoffrey Bayldon was alive at the time to see how much he is loved by his fans. :-) Thanks for all the "Eclect-trickery" ;-)
What a wonderful tribute. My brother just alerted me to it, as we're both currently watching the repeats on Talking Pictures channel. It's as magical as it was all those years ago.
SO UNDER RATED...THATS WHAT MAKES CATWEAZLE EVEN MORE SPECIAL FOR THE SMALLER AUDIENCE ...GOD BLESS YOU ALL ...MY CHILDHOOD WAS FILLED WITH ELECTRICKERY....XXX
I've commented here before, but can't stop watching this....wonderous !! and that music I loved the first time I heard it at end of each Series, Is it 'Library' music ?? can you get it anywhere ? ....you should all be proud of yourselves and the sculptor, wow Sir, what eye for detail. RIP Mr Bayldon and thank you :) Today's generation have little idea of what great TV making was for us kids and teens back then !
I also like the fact that 3 Last Of The Summer Wine cast members(Bill Owen,Peter Sallis, and Brian Wilde)made guest appearances! I must admit that I got a bit choked up at the end of the final episode of series 2. I like to think Catweazle and Touchwood visited Carrot again and had many more adventures. :)
Catweazle is a favourite to everyone who love that old wizard he was funny and brilliant and quite often thought he made mistakes which were true but it seemed so but in a bizarre way he always worked it out sort of. I think the series was utterly amazing because it was mysterious and weird but I believe the actor who played the a great actor and he also was the crowman on another great series about a unusual Scarcrow we know his name ? I always wondered was the Catweazle and the Crowman connected or the same person it is possible? But both could be really related?
Ohhjaaa, der Elektrik-Trick, haaa, das waren Zeiten, kann ich mich gut dran erinnern, hab ich gern gesehen die Serie, 1974, mit 14,5 Jahren. Bin gespannt wie die Kinofassung wird...
Awesome.....And yes I would definitely buy one of those Busts ;)......You know you,re getting old when you mention Catweazle in conversation at work, chatting about your fave childhood TV shows......And 90% of people don,t know what you,re going on about !!!......R-I-P Geoffrey, may Touchwood keep you company on your long journey ;)
I remember this mini series way back when I was a child, it scared me.. at the time as I was so little but my old sister made me watch..or be a sissy for a week..
The sculpture is incredible, absolutely world class! It has captured so much character. a very worthy tribute to a nice series and a great actor. One small criticism - why on earth put it somewhere with no public access?

Usually tributes are unveiled posthumously, so its with immense splendour to have the recipient do it. What an esteemed privilege for an actor & his fans. If the only true currency are people, how high a tariff does this rank. Respect really doesn't climb any higher...nor should it.
As a 53 yr old man I must admit to feeling a little embarrassed by the tears rolling down my cheeks as I watched this but hey, such was the beauty, power & magic of Catweazle. Thank you.
There aren't your tears only 😉. Overwhelming moment!
I am from Germany and 51 years old and I love Catweazle for my entire life.
You are not the only one. This tribute was truly deserved. A great man, and great TV.
Yup and me x

I'm from the Schwarzwald, Germany...53 years old and a big Catweazle Fan...tears of joy😇...great to see this 🙏👍👍👍

Huge show in Oz, part of the 70s charm, the animation at the beginning hooked any 5 yr old passing by, thanks Catweazle.❤
How wonderful! Catweazle was an amazing TV show that showed the world really is magical.

Indeed! It was the same for me and many millions of others. Catweazle and his phrases became part of our everyday language.
He certainly did that.
One of the best television creations ever!! Thank you, Mr Bayldon, Master Actor!!
I wish I'd known about this.
I would've been there.
Geoffrey Bayldon absolutely made my childhood.

A pleasure, Ciaran. Glad you liked it.
As someone who is now 54? You wouldn't been born until it's release on national TV. How did you come about Catweazle in the mid seventies?
RIP Dear Catweazle ( Geoffrey Bayldon) . Loved you in this show and all the marvellous work in film and TV. Derek
Brilliant ... such good memories watching both series ... just watched the whole lot again ... smashing man!
I discovered this wonderful series via You Tube here in America,i love it,terrific cast in both series! Shame there wasn't a 3rd series. :)
Hi Mark.
I grew up watching both series' as a kid. We never missed it as a family. It was huge in the seventies.

His tiny light will always shine.
Geoffrey made Catweazle what it was, i read all the the funny noises Catweazle made were all his idea, what a great actor.
Wonderful in Many Many Ways 🙏🐸🦆🐌🤠🤺
I remember this mini series way back when I was a child, it scared me.. at the time as I was so little but my old sister made me watch..or be a sissy for a week..
what an absolute treasure, propper magickery
Great to see this brings back those childhood years
The music and soundtrack for the series was great.
Beautiful video. R.I.P. Geoffrey.
I have been playing Catweazle to my 8yr old son & he loves it which of course makes my heart happier :-)
Nice! I think every child should be exposed to Catweazle. Their lives would be all the more magical for it.
