Hi I was Jon Pertwees standin on Worzel at the end of 79,80,81 I was also done the stage show at Birmingham Rep I done all the head changes and a few falls he was a great actor to work with and Una Barbara Windsor and all the other actors and Crew were great to be with Sean Pertwee still owes me a few pints I have lovely memories of my time on Worzel. Paul
Bloody hell Paul , if you’re not bluffing that an amazing story .
Good luck m8 ❤
What fabulous memories you must have, thank you for being part of something that made even us adults happy....the return to scatter took video should have been the lead up to a new series possibly with Sean Pertwee as a tribute to his Dad....I'm not a fan of the Crook version,it just doesn't have that magic
That's awesome thank you for sharing your story.
This is a million times better than the remake they did, it’s so sad to see how many of the cast are no longer with us.
Yes the remake was awful, but this was great to watch and handled nicely
@@KirlySuesKitchenopinions opinions , I thought the remake was marvelous in its way
I didn’t grow up with the original, but I’ve watched enough classic comedies to know that remakes will never be as good as the original ones. Maybe one day a talented person will come along to bring the proper comedies back. Maybe…
When I watched the original, back then, the days looked so much simpler and easier to live in. Enjoyed every moment of the series and eventually brought the lot on DVD.
Really nicely made, great atmosphere. More, more! ❤
Thank you for this. Even as a 50-year old man, this brought a lump to my throat. Regards
Im with you on that lump in my throat also watching this very well done and it feels attached to the original show weirdly somehow
Probably because of the two original cast in this and most of the others no longer with us
Yes this is very special
Jeremy austin is one of very few still going
Mine too buddy
Who else got goose bumps when they saw worzel
I love this. And how it handles john Pertwees death and not trying to replace him is the the icing on the cake. Someone had their thinking head on when they made this. Bravo
Just imagine getting Sean Pertwee to take the part of Worzel, just that clip at the end, and for him to say hello,.
He looks like his Dad.
That video was lovely ,
I discovered the magic of the character a few months ago. A hug for all the souls.
What a touching video. Not only did this leave me with memories from worzel gummidge, John and sue and their escapades from 40 years ago but it took me back 40 years and gave me memories from my childhood. I really wish we could turn back time to relive a time when life was much more tranquil and a slower pace of life
Really lovely, The 'Worzel Gummidge' Southern tv series seriously needs to be fully restored then placed on bluray, an insult to the series put on DVD with no restoration, this special film is all the more reason the series should be in HD, this film is a reminder how enchanting the series was and still is and how beautiful it would look fully restored.
Worzel was shot on 16mm, which is a pretty grainy stock, so it'll never look good by modern standards. The original film negatives were found last year, so there may be an improved version available at some point.
@@ThreadBomb I hope that comes about, as the DVD version is very soft. Altogether unworthy of the show. You might be surprised by how much can be extracted from film though, even 16mm, these days. Obviously it won't look as good as modern HD material, but far better than videotape could ever be.
What a wonderful clip. I actually cried when you see the back of worzel. I would love Sean Pertwee just to do 1 episode, it would make me so happy!
joanne- i agree as hes so like his dad, even the voice , but maybe he would not do it, as its his dads creation! . thanks, the batman.
That was fantastic and great to see Mike Berry (Mr Peters) and Jeremy Austin (John) 40 years on!
And Pickles Bramble.
Just great!
I thought the young girl was very good also.
What a beautifully-made short film. A glimpse of what a modern-day series could be. Everyone who worked on this should be very proud. I watched Worzel Gummidge as a youngster and now my own daughter loves watching the DVDs. When she sees this, she will be as delighted as I am.
TEE WERR ARR WURR DIP//
@@kevcatnip7589 Oo bur arr wur ay wur dip. Half past twenty to. Eleventy twelve pence piece. That's Worzelese that is and don't you be forgettin' it.
Loved that the daughter is called Charlotte, nice touch. Fantastic video feeling a bit emotional now.
Thank you for this.....
Brought a tear to my eye......
Made me feel old.......
....all that talent sadly no longer with us...
....very nostalgic.......
.....
Oh wow. Took me right back. So good to see Mike and Jeremy. I'm the same age as Jeremy and can imagine that it was hard to revisit. Especially with the loss of Jon, Charlotte etc.
Also good to see Pickles Bramble...'me ole China' playing the part of the shop keeper. Thanks for the visit to Scatter brook 👍🙏
Good spot. Didn't know Pickles was in this!
I had no idea that was him!
A rare and magnificent treat. I savoured every moment. His Plumptitude the Crowman would approve.
You mean "your effluence Sir". I used to watch this in my late teens, every Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend. More adults watched than kids. Very funny, and so relaxing.
That was amazing, made extra special with appearances from Mike Berry and a grown up Jeremy Austin! It was so authentic to the original series. Thank you so much for this short production, a real trip down memory lane. It makes me want to buy every episode, if only the copyright holders could remaster the original film. I don't care how grainy it is, the magic will still be there.
Gary_F I loved this when I was a kid good memories 🥰🥰🥰
Mr Spooner as an old man. What happened to his tape measure and Grace Brothers Colleagues?
A labour of love. Thank you - brought a tear to me ol' eye, that did.
What a great blast of nostalgia. Two of the original actors makes it even better.
chilled out, just thought i would mention wayne norman as the shop owner was in the original show too as pickles brambles!
Well I'll be bumswizzled !! ...how poignant ...I have a big nostalgic tear ......takes me right back to my childhood... such a wonderful show I adored it .great job guys 💕
its amazing all the wonderful comments this film is getting on here, i only found it by accident 5 days ago when searching for clips for jon pertwee! i have been recommending it to everyone i can !! thankyou so much!!.
Batman? If you are looking for Robin, you will find him nesting in Worzel's belly.
I watched this all the time as a kid, now my grandchildren watch it. Great program, sad to see ones missing and ones still here getting old, but that's life. Great memories
As for this tribute... Lovely. Huge bit of loveliness.. Thanks to these guys. All my youth was wrapped up with worzel. So many broadcast rememberings and then years later uk gold repeats. Never missed one the whole year at 6am ish on a sun morn. Classic.
Brilliant i loved worzel gummidge as a kid and still watch it with the grandson on box set and he loves it lol, same as someone else as said brought a tear to my eye, wish I was a kid again back in the day 😊👏👍👏
That was lovely.
Ahh that was quite wonderful. Memories of Saturday tea-times.
It was always Sunday teatime when it was on in my region.
And yes I totally agree... Quite wonderful. I tear up every time I watch the original series.
The acting was fab and the guy doing joh at the end was spot on the movement was real & authentic very very well done .
@@InternalMind I think BlytheWorld1972 actually meant 'Jon'.
@@blastfromthepast8344 Ohhhhhhh ok makes sense now lol
Brilliant well done to all especially mike n `jeremy` and pickles!!! mad
Absolutely lovely. So enjoyed this. What a lovely program it was and takes me right back to being a child again. Thanks to everyone involved in making this god bless the cast who are no longer with us.
This was great, thanks to all involved. So glad I grew up in the 70s and 80s.
So did I - born 1970 and at junior school when Worzel Gummidge was shown. Jeremy Austin is the same age as my brother Anthony!
Every time I see this and the other film by Mark Mahone on YT - it brings tears to my eyes. When you see the world today to think we took these times for granted when we were kids.
That was ammmazzzzing cheers guys good old worzel 😄
Absolutely loved this! Watching Worzel now & still so fantastic!. So sad that a lot off the actors are not here now. Charlotte Coleman died far too young. Such a lovely film & beautiful sentimentality too it. Times were so magical! Great little film. I would recommend The Worzel Book by Stuart Manning as well. Fabulous pics & information. 👍😊🙏
Stumble on you awzesozmze anniversary episode over Christmas with the boys. Delighted to see Mike, Jeremy and was that Wayne! repressing their roles. Lovely touch to acknowledge Charlotte as John's daughter. Beautifully done.
Absolutely brilliant loved it thanks for bringing back some Worzel magic 👍🏻
Brilliant brilliant brilliant , the music transported me back too many years , I loved the original series. A nice touch calling the daughter lotte.
I’m working a few hundred yards from ten acre field. I’ve driven round all the filming locations. Quite nostalgic and sad to think of the actors who were once where you’ve stood
That made me cry.
I’m 17 now and I’ve been watching worzel Gummidge for a long time over the last few years now since I was about 10 I think
And it’s a really good series to watch and this short film is really good too and with the original filming locations I think too
And I’ve always liked the series too for quite a long time now and you get to discover more about the series each time you watch it
And especially information about the particular actors and actresses and cast and crew of the programme and the writers too and the television production circumstances and the way they worked.
I really think this film should be made into a series it would be good
better than the remake on tv
And I think Lottie relates to me because when I first discovered Wurzel Gummidge, I was kind of like her with getting use to the concept I think and I like to see the different generations merging together like in this with how Lottie is growing up in the modern and current generation and she’s learning about past adventures here and she has good appreciation for it in this hearing from her her dad and her grandad about them living there before and their life with the braithewaites before and returning to scatterbrook field.
I think even though people or the older generation sometimes misunderstand and think in the wrong way of children and teenagers of today because we still have an imagination with us and that people I know now still are fond of the programme and like to rewatch it back again too.
Well that brought back memories. It was filmed round the corner from my grandparents and the spot where the Morris Minor was parked is exactly where I saw John having his makeup tweaked. So many years ago but something I'll never forget. Just loved Worzel
I never knew this short tribute existed. Superbly done. I grew up loving Worzel Gummidge and of course the Crow man. I also loved catweazle. Have both DVD sets. Being a huge fan of Joe Meek links me with Mike Berry too. RIP to all the actors and actresses who made our childhood amazing.
I grew up, but was a lad when Worzel was on TV. I will never forget Worzel Gummidge back in the good old days! I managed to snag a complete DVD set a while back. This little short film is a masterpiece and I want to say thank you for making it!
Fantastic! I'm making the trip from County Durham tomorrow (June 6th 2020) to see this magnificent location! Worzel was a huge part of my childhood and captured the magic of youth! I'm going to just sit here for about 3 hours and reminisce, and think about the happier times in my life! I also have a little message from my 10 year old self for Worzel to pin to the fence. And I LOVE the fact that they have called John's daughter Charlotte!
Brilliant, brought back some great memories.
Thank you
Aww magnificent, loved worzel as a boy and bought my own son who is now 15 and still a big fan of wurzel gummidge,he sent me a link to the new show the other day and whilst it wasn’t to bad it really doesn’t have anything on the original
this is great !! captures the spirit of the one and only jon pertwee original !! r.i.p jon pertwee !! still loved so much by so many!!
christ can't belive 1979 was so long ago.loved this so much...
this a show that can help and we all love 2022 , we all miss
Thank you 👑❤️😭👏🏻
I really enjoyed this. I would like to have seen more with actors who could have even got close to Jon Pertwee and Una Stubbs. It would have been fabulous. Good to have seen Jeremy back. He must be my age if he's a day. He's looking good on it. As am I
Amazing little film.. Stuart’s a genius .. beautifully done in every way ..
I went to ten acre today and it’s as stunning as captured here 💓
i watched the show when it was shown on tv originally ,ive got them on dvd now!! brings back lots of happy memories !! r.i p to all who have passed away, especially sue who was played by charlotte coleman who died so young aged 33, god bless all of you all, thankyou to all who made this and the original cast who came back.
A joy to watch and to watch again. Thanks to every one involved.
The music just brings you back too 😊
Thank you. Brings back happy memories from my childhood.
Magnificent great to see this good on you jeremy shame about the late charlotte coleman not being part of this
Truely magical show in every way kids of today will love it if they gave it a chance great locations the towns etc
So atmospheric and magical how jon pertwee pulled off worzel gummidge is memorizing made it so real and impossible to pull off and he done it naturally
Great cast of characters all round kids in particular well done jeremy austin you and charlotte made it wonderful hats off to you all
That’s real magic right there!
A beautiful production. Brought back lots of happy memories watching the original show as a child. Thanks for uploading!
worzel was my favourite childhood series and this was a nice treat i just wish they could go back in time and make more episodes .it was so nice to see this little snippet and well done for showing us fond memories
A wonderful homage, well done to all involved in getting this done.
Brilliant, everything in this short film was perfectly done 👍
I used to live in Michalmarsh near Romsey in Hampshire. That's where the black barns are where they filmed the wedding scene. As a youngster I used to watch them film . Lovely memories. I have a Worzel scarecrow on my allotment it's on one of my videos and I put up a wooden sign on my shed called Scaterbrook sounds silly but it reminds me of some good memories.
Amazing. Thank you to all involved in making this.
beautiful . took me back to 1980 when our one channel BTV ( bangladesh television ) used to broadcast the tv series ( and also here come the doubledeckers ) on sunday mornings . good times . i was in class ten . i was 15 then , now i am 54 . thanks ten acre films .
What a brilliant commemoration. Shame Jon Pertwee and Una Stubbs are dead to see them in their roles as Worzel and Aunt Sally. It made my childhood brilliant and wonderful. Thanks for this lovely reminder 🙂🙂🙂
I love to see a remake with Sean Pertwee
Marvellous! Well done to all concerned.
Great work! Very nice nod to the series - Also very nice to hear renditions of the original music ! Worzels 'sad' theme is a great piece of music!. (you will have to do a soundtrack next ;) )
KastnerPianola That might actually be my favourite piece to work on
This video just popped up on my recommended I'm completely floored. Mike berry and Jeremy Austin I'm 58 and I got a lump in my throat and then seeing worzel at the end, they should make a series about this
Absolutely fantastic, thank you
That was magical it would be great if mike berry and Jeremy Austin reprised their roles for a full series
This was absolutely brilliant!!!! So well done!!! I wanna see more!!
Wonderful! You have captured the spirit and feel of the original beautifully and should be very proud of this. Congratulations to all involved - more please!
PS - who are the 2 misanthropes who have voted this down? Shame on you!
Good morning Michael!
I learned about Worzel Gummidge bcoz I became curious of Jon Pertwee due to his portrayal of Doctor Who. I watched two episodes already of Worzel here on RUclips and I like it!😀👍
Sadly though, the misanthropes who disliked this anniversary video are three by now. I think they are bitter, folks who have no sense of childhood, of wonder and magic.
Possibly they think this is a cut down version of something longer.
Good ol' Wurzel Gummidge. Sweet little film... would love to see all those 16mm films remastered and out on Blu-ray please.
This programme has aged really well to me.
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much. Will no doubt be watching this many more times 😊
Fantastic!
That was wonderful and I really liked how you ended it.
Thank you. Wayne
What a beautiful piece of filming, thank you so much for this.
It's so sad the other actors and actresses aren't still with us, but this was a wonderful tribute to them, and the the joy they all gave us when it was first made.
I adore the piece of music at the end.........BRAVO ....and now I think I shall have a nice cup of tea and a slice o' cake missus !!
this was brilliant, I'm watching the classic series again here on youtube.
Absolutely fantastic just watched it with my daughter I loved it as a kid and she grew up watching the videos beautiful production thank you
My mum watched worzel as a child and so did I I am currently collecting all the episodes on dvd cause all my videos got thrown out and I have a fav episode season 2 episode 1 when aunt sally and worzel are supposed to get married. But this short has the same magic that made the show so amazing
This is just brilliant
Beautiful,
The original and always the best, was great to see the old characters I was lucky to be a boy when old worzel was on the box
That was lovely thank you!
Very good actually for a modern remake. The girl was spot on perfect
Lovely warm glow now. Thanks for this!
All the magic is still present in this short clip ..... I know we had the BBC interpretation but ITV could bring it back
❤❤❤❤❤ love worzel has kid and the late actor Jon pertwee great actor sadly missed ❤❤❤❤❤
Extremely well done, brought back lots of memories from my youth, this was so like the original series, shame this couldn't be made into a full blown series instead of the weird looking Mackenzie Crook version, Why change something that doesn't need changing
Outstanding
Real vintage vibe.
Many thanks to all involved.
L wer o wer v wer e wer d dip

Loved it! Well done and thank you to all involved.
Been to the locations brought back brill memories
Aw I missed this series so much when it ended. 53 episodes to rewatch though from the original series. we just need it bluray release now. Maybe the charm would be lost not having it look so old fashioned on vhs transfer though! This new little film was a lovely reminder of how special it was. Great to see the two original actors. :-)
Just been watching the new worzel gummidge with my kids and found this by accident brought back some great memories and filled me with emotion
Absolutely loved worzel when i was a kid, used to love watching it on my black & white portable,& this was brilliant, well done,i wish it was longer 👍👍
And the baton passed to mckenzie crook and what a beautiful, magical, spellbinding worzel he gave us... Now we just want a full series, he's proved his worth... Finance it someone pls.
good to see someone else can see past the "He isn't Worzel , Jon is" as despite Worzel Gummidge being my favourite thing ever and nothing can replace it/him , Mackenzie Crook did a wonderful job
the ending was very poignant for me .... it was as if jon pertwee was there ... brilliant series, took me back to my childhood. A huge thanks to all who made this clip possible and a bigger thanks for sharing it...
This is amazing. Thank you. :-)
