- Hey guys I hope everyone is having a good day! In this video I will talk about 5 things I miss about Amazon compared to FedEx!!! Nothing to big just little things!!
in my experience as an Amazon delivery driver, apartments can really be a pain in the ass, and they can be very time consuming which can really put you behind on your route, (yes, it's happened to me a lot.) sometimes the receptionists (depending on what apartment you go to.) would get on your ass about where you should leave the packages, because they can careless about where the customers living in their complex want their packages to be delivered, and they tell you to do it the way they want you to do it so that it would make their jobs a lot more easier, like really? try being a delivery driver while doing whatever the hell you can to keep up with your route, and tell me about it.
Bro I just got fired because of this ! 😂😂
Fuck them fr
They not even out there doing the shi ,
They just pointing fingers …
Some apartments really just be like wtf ? 😂😂
You’ll fuck around an spend 25-30 mins looking for 1 door ! Dead asss
Dude I totally agree I used to work for fedex and had them apartments on my route dude ordered dressers and beds I left that shit down stairs at the first floor the fuckin office called Fedex and none stop complained so I got in trouble which that shit always put me behind fuck those apartments unless it was a small package that could go into the lockers
Hahahahah I know exactly whacha mean man
@@devinjohnson6539 😂😂 woulda done the same damn thing kmsl
I agree, even some regular customers be like, deliver to garage on back of property, underneath porch roof on table. Are they serious?? Like would you like me to spoon feed you too??? SMH
With ground, gotta have a contractor that actually takes care and services the step vans and box trucks. Again, I have a great contractor who runs a nice fleet. Our vehicles get taken care of
That’s awesome!! Your contractor sounds like a good person I’m happy for you!!!
My first car was an 83 Ford Escort. I had coal in the trunk and would stop every few miles to throw some into the combustion chamber.
My dad is a retired mechanical engineer, so he came up with a contraption to automatically transfer the coal via pneumatic tube. Smart guy! 🤣
Great video man. Been at Amazon for almost a year and had been thinking about switching over to FedEx express for some time now. Your videos give a great perspective 🙏🏽
I’m glad I could help! Both are very different I kinda figured it would be the same for some reason lol
Hey man appreciate the video! Definitely opened my eyes on what you guys have to deal with behind the curtains. There’s pros and cons to any of these jobs. Next time I’m having a rough day at work(Amazon), I can look back and think it can always be worse or I don’t have it as bad as I think. 👍🏽
I’m a part time courier with FedEx express. It’s pretty much like that. Best thing to do in these situations is be professional as possible with a brief explanation. Occasionally I will even pick up some of the small ground packages if they haven’t been called or scheduled in for pickup.
ALL FACTS ABOUT AMAZON...
Survived Amazon Peak Season 2021...
180 stops..
350 packages alllll December...
I was doubting my Life Choices each day I logged into my Rabbit🤦🏾😅😅👍🏽
Lmao yeah it can get rough doing those type of numbers I know when I would look at my itinerary I would be like please be a low stop count 😂😂
I feel you. I started with FedEx ground during peak season 2021.
Every day was 260-300 stops with maybe 20 packages more.
Works a breeze now. 110 stops with 150-180 packages
😂
I averaged 200 stops daily w/o peak. Did about 35-40 stops per hour. Was done in about 5-6 hours.
180 stops now is considered a nursery route, they squeeze employees and favor long term employees that took it up the ass
as a fed ex ground guy it's nice to hear your perspective of working for express. Sounds like the grass isn't always greener.
Yeah I definitely like my job but there are some downsides for sure lol
@@matthewp9740 Stick with express but although it's heavier boxes and furniture Ground tends to be more straight forward and it might be worth it for you to research. It's usually day shifts older vehicles but work horses . I enjoy your videos. I do know another guy who has been with express forever and makes really good money it just takes time to get there.
Drove UPS for 11 years back in the 60s and 70s. I made 100 to 110 deliveries and 52 pickups a day. My route was around Anheim Stadium and all the way to Dismalland. it was go go go, seldom took a lunch break. Sprained both ankles but not much back problems. Just got tired and burned out. They took very good care of the trucks, seldom had any problems. They washed trucks everyday. back in those days there were no computers or cell phones. you had to write everything on deliver sheets. We had to get signatures for 90% of the packages. We had to collect for COD packages. It was a very busy day.
Nobody gives AF about your trip down memory lane grandpa. WE WANT MONEY!!! The easier the better.
THE COMPARISONS HAD ME WEAK 😂😂😂😂🔥👌🏾
Good video bro !
😂😂😂 thanks bro! I appreciate it!!!
I appreciate your video cuz I work for an Amazon DSP rn and I was thinking about switching to FedEX since I didn't think they were treating me fairly. Dented a side step on the van in my 3rd week, immediately reported and cooperated and still finished my route on time but got a 2 day suspension during and my full time hours revoked. I know it depends on the DSP cuz others were saying they would only get a write up for that. Just sucks cuz it feels like everyone makes mistakes but I lost two whole days of pay and my opportunity to better support myself and my boyfriend that'll take me a long time to work back up to at my DSP. But your video made a good point to me about how the grass is always greener and I'm not in a hole I can't work my way out of, at least not yet. Also don't know how I'm supposed to get to 180 stops a day w these damn apartments, but ima keep my head up lol. I love the staying fit part of the job the best and ur video was on point about the pros and cons! Thanks man!
Dude..Amazon routes their stops so inefficient. The amount of stops wouldn't be as bad, if of was routed better. So much extra driving, turning around, and rules with the camera. It's all just insane. I left. It has me go to apartments, leave and then comeback later to the same complex. Like really?
I do both! I’m blessed
I work for express too that video about the FedEx truck driving all crazy was hela funny but you already know we gotta make that p1 service 😅
Lol gotta make those commit times 😂
This past peak season most for a few weeks was 409 to 420 with 186 to 195 stops. And multiple stops where just a complete pain in the ass. Like Amazon just here take all this and deliver it in small van.
Almost at 100, I've been a sub since you were at 10
I’m the 99th sub
Yup thanks for being here!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
I like the fact you have perspective for both situations thanks
Thank you! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
You had a Good DSP, the ones in the IE im Cali are not good at all I heard everyone ran to Fed Ex Express as fast as they can lol
Yes I was lucky! I heard they our doing great so That means a lot on there end. I ran to express so I can have weekends off lmao 🤣
I just got in with FedEx express I have done FedEx ground and Amazon I think express is way better in long run 💯
Nice and yes I do believe so too!!
Wow! Everything you said was a HUGE negative for me. You must of had a really great DSP owner who took care of everything and did it the right way. Started fedex this week too. Proud of you bro
Yeah my dsp was actually pretty awesome! But unfortunately amazon itself is what lead me to not ever wanna be back again. lol 😂 also thank you!🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼
I work @ ground honestly stay very far away from most of those trucks. Drove a donut on the highway and wind was pushing it back and forth @ 60 mph.
Yes I do my best to plus I’m okay with rentals!! They have ac and heat and a radio lol
If anyone can answer. How’s the pay between both jobs. Like just fedex pay more cause my Amazon dsp doesn’t even allow overtime
I'm starting PT expecting hours 6 -12 t-s and like 30 stops max my boss said. Coming from amazon with 200+ stops normal 30 stops seems like a dream even with bad routing
I worked for Amazon in 2018-2019. Then came to FedEx Ground. The things I hated about Amazon was calling to get them to authorize the delivery zone and not gettin paid to rescue. Some contractors will pay you to help. Mine was not one of them. I had 3 different owners for FedEx Ground. My first decided to pay us more and have sh*tty trucks. My last owner got all newer trucks 2 have A/C. Home delivery makes very good money. The more you deliver the more you get paid. Ground drivers can negotiate they’re daily rate if they have residentials on their route. Which is what i did when I switched from home to ground.
I know it doesn’t matter because you don’t work for Amazon anymore but you can bypass the need to call by turning airplane mode on. As long and you’re close enough to press the “I’ve parked” button, being on airplane mode bypasses that annoying orange or green delivery zone circle. It’s been saving my ass and I can thank an experienced Amazon driver for that tip who told me about it on his last day.
i always thought what i would be to deliver without the color bags
i deliver for amazon, i work sundays. idk why they get surprised when i return with 35 packages to be delivered to businesses closed on sundays. and i have to go through the process of calling customer, txting customer, calling driver support. just so i can mark business closed and the app already knows business is closed on sundays. you just wasted 5 hours of my time.
its even worse when the app is acting up and it drops all calls to costumer so you have to call driver support and have them call alternative phone numbers just for the customer to be like oh just throw it over my fence. when their customer notes state to get signature, and your dsp has a morning meeting on customer notes are key and do all you can to fulfill them and you do and then they call you slow and you should have ignored it.
I was a pharmacy technician for 21 yrs. Got tired of working there for chum change. I've wanting to tryout Amazon for awhile. So finally I was working as a Amazon driver. Love the job, hate apts, especially when we're forced to do door to door with 25 to 50 packages, including overflows. I especially hate those old apt bldgs with antique elevators. Some of them don't even have elevators and I have to go up to the 4th to 5th floor carrying stupid cat litter or cases of water. Anyhow, I quit back in Sept. I got hired with UPS, did the interview on the phone with a lady in India. But so difficult to get an appointment for physical exam and driving test. Till this day, no appointments are available. And FedEx also hired me. Their physical exam/drug test was easy and fast. Did it the same day after the interview. Tomorrow is the day I start training. So nervous. Thanks for the info about FedEx. 👌
How is it going brother
@@shadowk4718 Looks like he became very busy.
@@maragolihistory2118 Lmao foreal man . I switch from residential to doing business so I know is hard though
don't recommend Step vans if your routes are in the hills heavy city traffic.
#5 was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol 😂 😂😂
What style/number is the Nike piece
5 things i hate about amazon......
#5 showing up at 10 to sit around for 90 minutes to hit the road after pointless start up meetings vehicle inspections and load up.
#4 the cameras and fico score.
#3 turning ur vehicle on and off at every stop putting ur seat belt on and off at every stop
#2 having to hold ur pee in or worse not being able to siht due to the endless deliveries
#1 RESCUES.
So u work ur tail off to get ur route done all for dispatch to throw 40 more stops at u when u thought u would get off at 6 or 7
Is doing pick-ups that big a deal? I've been a brinks courier and pickups were easier than deliveries
starting amazon this weekend, i never started for fedex, had family issues come up and they didnt want me to attend a funeral.........so i said F U and dipped, I also did UPS, I legit miss UPS
Was that through a contractor position, or hired directly through FedEx.
So how exactly do you organize ?
fedex warehouse was crazy
09:43 Lol the Fed Ex driver animation. 🤣🤣 They're not actually like that when delivering something to me. For the most part, they can't find the home or address. One time something got delivered to the wrong address a few houses down the road. 🙄 That homeowner had to bring it up to me. Only Fed Ex. 😂 My Amazon packages come from USPS.
Dang FedEx always Messing up!! 😂
Debating between Amazon or FedEx ground, Amazon has the cameras inside the vans and you're always being watched and FedEx you are on your own but have to carry heavier packages
I heard the packages can get crazy heavy at ground! But it all depends on your contractor! Hope the best for you!
@@matthewp9740 just got a phone interview from the fedex contractor and they see me as a good candidate, so eager to finally start something new
Only thing hint that sucks bro is with ground I get paid salary and sucks when you have to go to the restroom
😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂😂😂🤣😂😂😂 yo I’m freaking crying. Where the hell did you find that video!!! 😂🤣🤣😂
lmao 🤣 I saw it on RUclips and was dying on how true it is 😂😂
fedex needs to get a new contract for gas vehicles because at my station theres no spare trucks and needs to really update the fleet.
Yes your 100 percent right!
I have a question. is Fedex always experiencing a very high volume of packages? or drivers do not want to deliver the packages, because I am a fedex CSR and I can tell you everyday I receive calls from people saying that driver just said there´s no one at home to receive the package, even package does not require any signature.
Yes that is entirely on the driver. I was a ground driver for 3 years. There only a handful of reasons not to deliver a package. Especially packages that don’t require any type of signature.
the convenience/simplicity of Amazon was enough to make me choose them
Ahh yes nothing Was better than a route with all residential! No commercials or apartments to worry about! just smooth sailing…
I got my set route with fedex ground and its easy asf
Really that’s good!!! How many stops do you usually do?
So happy that someone out there is in a good place on the job!!! Good for you
As a FedEx Express driver for a year now, IMO, the worst thing to ask as a driver coming from another Company is “how many stops do you do?”
*DON’T ASK THIS*
Your going to low a number, get excited and then realize later how terrible the companies system is that makes the job and stops harder. FedEx Express loses a TON of money each year from how unbelievably bad their system is. And you’ll wonder each day why they are are so disconnected from their own company. Why I don’t invest long term into Fed Ex Express.
Im starting pt for express this week and I am coming from amazon with 150-300 packages daily. 120-220 stops. 15 minute loads times, My boss here at fedex said to expect no more then 30 stops. hours r 6-12 so prolly like 7-11 for actually delivering.
@@MonsterHDE Sounds right. Things have gotten a bit better in some ways lately in how they go about the system but it’s basically still the same as it was a year ago. However, if you get the right route in a fair weathered state, it can be a dream PART TIME job while you study a cheap out of state STEM degree at home or whatever. Be consistent with your Leo codes as they aren’t hard and if you are a FO driver use that shuttle activity code when on the way to the airport and back to station. However, you don’t tell a manager about the code…just use it properly and you shouldn’t have any issues.. Don’t be afraid to scan not being in or a wrong address if you suspect something off about the package as to not spend too much time somewhere. Understand business deliveries are not as simple as just driving at a house. Docks and weird leave spots are a thing. Make notes on your phone of all sorts of things and organize them well, if you have any questions feels free to ask.
FedEx Express training is way too long. A week of computer training followed by a week of ride alongs. Plus an 11 hour defensive driving class and a 2 day courier class.
All paid tho?
@@Xrider6 yes
@matthew P how is it driving with that front facing cam and now the camera facing the driver recording? How was that transition?
From Amazons camera to FedEx cameras it’s a big difference! At my job they go off a lot less than Amazon, even though that’s the case, it still sucks to have one but it does help that there not so up tight about it. Some days I forget it’s there lol 😂
@@matthewp9740 I was told that apparently, the camera only records if you take your eyes off the road for too long, speed, get to close to a car and ect. I guess it gets triggered then records a segment which then gets sent to your manager. Hmmm? lol
Yes! So basically everything you said is correct. I wear shades so it don’t read my eyes. And there is a button you can push to for it to to record the last 30 seconds!
@@matthewp9740 LOL shades good idea. Why would record last 30 seconds? lol
@@matthewp9740 how many stops do you do as a sameday city courier?
I fell out laughing at 9:44 🤣😭💀💀

Just had my first day today! Very excited to be out on the road.
Yes sure do and enjoying some vacation time at the moment lol
@@matthewp9740 there ya go! Enjoy the vacay! Hoping I enjoy the driving aspect, so far so good though. My ride along is Saturday 🤣
@@worldpro94 how was it at express? You enjoying it or no longer there?
@@jordancook20 still here and love it. I do response so it kinda sucks, come in later and some days there's more stops than others. Usually only 30-40 though. Can't beat all of the extra stuff you get for just working here though.
Does your station have front facing cameras in the vehicle?
Yes it does!
Yeah I believe FedEx express went company wide with front facing cams as well as cab facing cams. And they can pick up a phone in your hand or you looking down at your lap. The camera will beep and a robovoice will tell you to pull over to use your phone or say “distraction”. It will even tell you if you need to have more following distance from the vehicle in front of you. It’s not as bad as it sounds tho.
@@jaredbarhorst248 yeah not as bad as Amazon! That thing was way more sensitive!!!
no. 5 had me loling, I guess its the high age of the vehicles that play in to the fact that fedex drivers have this stigma of being reckless
Lmao yes I will admit I’ve seen a lot of crazy FedEx drivers 😂😂
What does a casual courier does?
Until you tell them you can't take a Ground package.
Lol 😂
Hows the pay? Curious if they were similar? Thanks
I was at 17.50 as a stepvan driver with Amazon
And here at FedEx I’m making about 20 and some change.
@@matthewp9740 nice I was wondering fedex van was starting 16.50 here was wondering if that was common. Good info
@@dwfinds3030 look on the website at FedEx express it will usually have the pay posted on the position. If it’s driving a van you want to look for a non dot position! Hope this helps.
That fed ex video ☠️☠️☠️
Quick question ❓ how many stops u used to take w Amazon compared w express?
Amazon was between 150 to 180 usually and now with FedEx I do about 30 to 50 pickup stops. For delivery people probably range around 60 to 90.
How long did the hiring process? From start and finish?
With Amazon it’s like two days lol and with FedEx about one month!!
@@matthewp9740 FedEx express
@@julianrodriguez9748 About one month a week for them to call for an interview and then after the interview I went to get drug tested and took about three weeks for them to call me back to start my first day
@@matthewp9740 guess every station is different I guess. Cause I applied for the casual position and like 2 days later I got email to do a tour At that interview they offered me a full time instead of casual and did a drug test and the next day I got email to do my background check.

Fedex definitely needs to be more organized.
Agreed!!
Sounds kind of disorganized.
Blue gang gets mad love over ups usps and fed ex… hell I be blocking the road and ppl smile and wait… haha
Stessa esperienza prima Amazon poi DHL poi Fedex…Amazon non c’entra proprio nulla col mondo dei corrieri 🚚
I was working for a nationwide food distributor, and it was like that...go in, and wait hrs for a truck to get back and get loaded. Not enough scanners. I hate when companies wont spend $$$ and give the workers the proper tools they need to do the job safely and correctly. That was one of the main reasons i just quit my last job...forklifts were literally falling apart.
