The Versuchsträger 1 and 2 were two German tank prototypes with two gun barrels each. The first had two 105mm guns and the second two 120mm guns. Seven prototypes in total were produced. The tank did not proceed beyond the prototype stage because the design was considered impractical. A surviving example can be seen at the Panzermuseum Munster.
The turret has two large caliber breaches and 2 side mount machine guns. Very realistic in terms of crew room. The T-100LT is just as plausible. Huge gun breach, tiny turret ring, crew lays down like Batman, gains access through a drawer in the hull.
Yes, the lighting is definitely better, making me almost forget how grumpy you can be. 🙂 But seriously, the brighter backdrop, the guitar and paintings on wall are well staged and inviting. Well done!
2 guns were installed in multiple tanks to test recoil control. This was the old way of seeing if a IS or KV could carry a larger gun. For a example the AC4 sentinel as part of the 17pdr program had 2 short 25 pound guns fitted and fired. Real verhicles but only test units.
Hey Claus - As an old-timer, I generally look at the internet as a good thing as it operates as a vast source of information compared to my earlier years when it required a considerable cost to purchase your own set of encyclopedias (which became obsolete rather quickly) or trips to the local library (that were also not the most current source). But I'll grant it's also the source of a great deal of mischief especially because of two of the most common human biases: (1) Appeal to Authority - let's have a discussion about cosmology (since you mentioned it) and talk about the age of the Earth. My opponent says about six thousand years ago because he saw a discussion on the internet by Dr. X, who is a world-famous neurosurgeon, and Dr. X gave that value. Since he IS a renowned doctor he must know the answer, right? But maybe we should ask Neil deGrasse Tyson instead since he has a doctorate in astrophysics, which actually deals with the question at hand (one-stop source here: 4.5 billion years). (2) And the second bias - Confirmational Bias also comes into play here because my opponent's group of friends all believe 6,000 years is the answer and when he researched Dr. X he found Dr. X belongs to a group that espouses the 6,000-year figure, so obviously he's found his "expert".
LMAO. Scary how much we think alike. At 76 yrs of age, I too am a traditionalist. A small "c" conservative. I refuse to click on any tank videos with that BZ something, the one with rockets . I see a whole bunch of changes coming in WOT. I truly expect Klingon Bird of Prey to be introduced soon. LMFAO. And yes I would have told her to put her own spout up...... Stay safe and keep up the good work Claus...
The lighting is perfect. If you think it's reflecting off your forehead then move it around or use soft led light instead of spot light, or use a white screen in front of the light to soften it.
M-42 Duster, anti-aircraft light tank with two 40mm cannons, was the only double barreled American "tank" that I'm aware of... My uncle fought in the Korean War and said they used it more against the ChiCom infantry hoards then they did against North Korean/ChiCom aircraft.... Germans may have something similar...
A weapon specialists is the correct terminology & there are several types: small arms, crew served weapons - non-artillery, crew served - artillery, Armored weaponry & rocket weaponry! Yes, there were several tanks or armored vehicles with 2 & 4 guns (twin-guns or quad-guns), both only used either 20 or 40 mm Bofors guns!
He needed that T92 HMC to win the game with that shot because the T110E3 had gotten into a hull down position behind the dead FV and his gun was pointed down the hill. Unlikely the T100LT could've driven in front and taken him out without getting killed. If the T92 didn't direct hit and pen the time would've run out before the next reload. The other Grille was nowhere. That was a LUCKY win in the end!!!
And the third mark on the THIRD Barrel! Well, there was the 6 barrel Ontos.. but had to be reloaded from the outside. Used to work in a hardware store, and if a person came to said "I saw this on RUclips or Tiktok", our brains auto translate that to "Would you punch me in the face"
There were tanks designed, and built, with two guns in the turret, the Australian Sentinal Mk.III with two 25pdr guns, designed to simulate the recoil of the proposed 17pdr gun, the Maus had a 75mm gun co-axial with its 128mm gun, even the U.S. produced one just prior to World War II equipped with two 37mm guns.
I thought double barrel tanks were silly 2019/ 2020, then I had a hiatus when friendly fire/ the need to think before firing was removed. I returned late last year and traded my IS-6 for the 703 II (122) in the recent Trade-in event and, in that context, it was a sensible upgrade.
The new lighting brings out your beautiful eyes and goes very complimentary with topographei of your maarvelous vest that you wear with much elegance and almost purrfect british manners... 🤣🤣
My prediction for the next double barrel tank will be one barrel is a 75mm that loads every 3.67 seconds and the other barrel is a 125 mm that reloads every 10 seconds….
Yes Claus there were quite a few tanks with more than one barrel. The first I know of was designed by Leonardo Da Vinci. You can see tanks with multiple barrels in WWI. You see tanks in WWII lower tiers with more than one barrel or multi-turreted tanks. There were some with 2 barrels and one turret. One downside would be you'd need to carry a lot of ammo and two loaders probably. Two gunners possibly.. I think at the time the T34 came out there were other designs for tanks, many had multiple turrets and guns. But Stalin apparently said something along the lines of, we don't need so many guns. We just need one good one.. As for the experts in everything...as you say, in reality they know sod all. Old saying. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Never more true than now. What astounds me is that people live in the information age but know no more than they did before the internet. Information does exist, but you have to look for it and not believe what you are told. Especially by politicians who NEVER tell us the truth about anything. Never have. Never will. Rule is..whatever they tell us the opposite will be closer to the truth. People should do their due diligence .. check and verify. Everything I've ever checked has been an untruth. Problem is truth doesn't matter. It's what people want to believe to be true that matters, even though it's a lie.
The real Maus has 2 barrels, one was a 75mm and the other was the larger caliber. The M3 Lee and grant have 2 guns. So yes, there are other examples but they were pretty much a failure.
I definitely liked the original lighting more. I get the feeling that the light source is now too high, those forehead reflections are no good in my opinion.
The default firing off of both barrels is what, please?! I've never bought any of the double gun tanks but one was rented to me and I found myself only letting off single shots, I might as well have been driving my regular single barrel tanks. I'd love to know what one does to get both guns go off simultaneously. Thanks.
Enough two gun weird things. How would they even work in reality? Are there two breeches or do the two barrels share the same breech? Either way it's got to be autoloaded as there is no room in the turret for anything else. In reality. Disbelief aside, Great stuff today Claus. "You don't have to know everything in life. You can get away not knowing very much actually. Most people don't know anything, the world still turns." That rang true. Thanks.
Hi Claus, this type of illumination will eliminate shadows between your cheeks. So, you can wink your brown eye more public.:) I'm sure Jingles approval to follow.
They did try two barrels but its not practical, to heavy ( when people see the gun they dont think about everything they dont see inside the turret), to much ammo for two barrels ect, so they give up trying
Dang.. thought this was going to be a video on how stupid the player base is after reading the description. All these 1200 PR players I keep getting on my teams..
yes, he could shoot the e3 and not get spotted, but that would let the other team know exactly where he is with a very low possibility of even getting dmg for his efforts. That would be a waste.
Watch all you videos, even the other ones not WOT related. You sound like me half if not all of the time. Anyway, thought you would enjoy this. Played my loaded T40 Skoda. Commander has 6 perks! First 7 shots all missed, last 3 auto aim as I could not imagine that would fail. 2 shots by enemy, first took engine. Im dead. Every game, all different tanks huge losses. Its like a switch is turned off and WG says FU no winning tonight.
What I learned today is that Canadians call the gutter the "eaves trough" and call the drainpipe the 'down spout'.
I learned Claus if more familiar with Proctologists than Meterologists.
I like down spout, but eaves trough? Meh
ya, it's a trough at the eave, more impressive is getting 6 marks... woot
Yes - - and? LOL

Hey, thanks! I was curious. I'll check it out.
Hey. Don't knock it till you've tried it, right. 😊

Realistic? Plausible? Interesting adjectives about a video with the word "...stupidity..." in the title.
Yep in WoT's it's possible

Can't wait to get my double barreled, EBR, with the booster rockets, and the 8 shot clip. Lol
That will be the next "Assembly Shop" tank, but it will only be available to those who pay in crypto.
And the mounted guided missile launcher.
And a 10 second magazine reload
There's no Russian cars yet. WG is saving the dum... er... best, for last. And being Russian, it will only be knee high.
Good Morning Claus. Lighting is better just wear a hat to keep the Kojack to a minimum. 🤣
Almost spit out my coffee when you said, " No one gives a f****g f**k." Love your commentary.
Yes, the lighting is definitely better, making me almost forget how grumpy you can be. 🙂 But seriously, the brighter backdrop, the guitar and paintings on wall are well staged and inviting. Well done!
Double barreled guns are a way to make players use even more ammo per game, so it's good for WarGaming.
2 guns were installed in multiple tanks to test recoil control. This was the old way of seeing if a IS or KV could carry a larger gun. For a example the AC4 sentinel as part of the 17pdr program had 2 short 25 pound guns fitted and fired. Real verhicles but only test units.
I love your commentaries, just watch the videos for that.
I think a meteorologist predicts the weather and a cosmologist looks at the universe. Anyway, with the new lighting we may see Uranus🙂
Does Claus have an onlyfans page? Asking for a friend,,,
Classic content Claus thanks, double barrel madness, part of the creep, no double barrel tanks, aiming issues and recoil issues, Close Enough

hi Claus, you're right - as usual - reflections everywhere
the t3 american mtls 1g was a real double-barreled tank, the m42 "duster" twin 40mm bofors aa kinda was a tank.
Omg! That would make a great tier 6 :)
The lighting is perfect. If you think it's reflecting off your forehead then move it around or use soft led light instead of spot light, or use a white screen in front of the light to soften it.
He had 12 marks on his barrels😊

Looks good. A little darker on your right side but overall a good improvement. So now you have premium lighting!

Claus enough... really quite enjoyable.
Lighting looks great!
The light is much better now. Due to the bright background I’m hardly able to see ur face. I like that a lot.

In real life double-barreled tanks didn't get past prototype stages because firing them one at a time off-center was damaging turret rings.
Light looks perfect @Claus
Lighting is good ; tho going blind from the reflection from the top of you head :)

The M-19 and the M-42 Duster both carried a twin mount of 40 mm cannons, however, both vehicles were anti-aircraft tanks.
