I did it, all majors sub 2:30. What a great day, a great race, great support and great people. Thanks you all for sharing the journey. @limerickrunningIG @ limerickrunning
In 2019, Seth James Demoor also had problems getting through the slow VIP runners at the start. He ran a 2:24 that year. Maybe they should have them cordoned off to the side somehow to they won’t interfere with runners wanting to go sub2:30
I didn't know that. If I did I'd have asked to move. I was hoping to join a group and pace it to 1:13 half. By the time we got to the top the group was split up.
Congratulations! First of all, massive well done, what a run! Secondly, I’ve just been directed to your video by someone who said the start was a shambles… it definitely looked that way! Well done on that time, incredible 🎉
@@TheFODRunner Thanks lad. I see video's of the other waves and I was jealous haha. Bottom line is staying away from Blue coral 1 if you are after a time and want to settle in early.
Fantastic video! As for the start - this has unfortunately been an issue for many years with the Blue 1A corral. What I've found is that the best thing that Blue 1A runners can do is to move to Orange 1A (where there is no obstruction at all) or Pink 1A, which is directly behind the Local Competitive Corral. Since there are other runners in the mid-2 hour range in Local Competitive, and Pink joins the Blue course on the right side of 4th Ave, Pink 1A is likely the best place to be if you're aiming to run as fast as possible. Orange is a bit difficult because you end up running a lot of the first 8 miles alone, unless other very fast runners had the exact same idea. Hopefully some day NYRR will fix this issue with Blue 1A by giving the VIP/Sponsor/FDNY/NYPD runners a 10-minute head start, so by the time Wave 1 catches up to them, they don't become a solid impermeable wall causing a major safety hazard on the bridge.
@@justanotherrunningcoach5569 that's a good suggestion. I hope they do. I was hoping to make the masters podium and get to halfway about 1:13 but the start put me right off as I was doing sprints to take advantage of any gaps. Anyone in blue is already at a disadvantage again age groupers in other waves as the masters podium is based on gun time. I'll definitely avoid it next time. Aside from that I really enjoyed the course and the support.
Serious achievement to get the sub 2:30 in NYC never mind the strength to do it in all the other majors. A year you’ll never forget thanks for sharing. Your channel is brilliant. 👏🏻👏🏻 Hon Limerick
Well done👍🏻🙏💪 u are the best! This is why I hate those big marathons. why can they never make those waves better! As u are sub 2.30 runner need start with all those clowns who not are there for a race. U can waiste lot of time and energy first 5-6km if u are too far on startline.
I was watching your experience in the NYC marathon when I see you’ve met my brother and his wife who are hug fans of yours. Love the content and Congratulation on a successful run👍
You started in a ridiculous position but you finished top 100.Absolutely insane running esp just after Chicago. The Ireland top looked awesome too.Your living the dream.Congrats.
