- What an AMAZING race, as it always is. It wasn't my day, but it is nothing short of spectacular how this city comes alive on the first Sunday, every November, for the New York City Marathon.
Thank you so much to all who cheered me and all the runners along, it makes an incredible difference. I'll break down my race and what went wrong in more detail in the next video, but for now enjoy the race itself!

I have been reviewing videos of the marathon, and yours is the one that best recounts the internal of this event. Very emotional and you deserve great recognition for challenging yourself and fulfilling your goal with a lot of effort. You are the big man.
Thank you, Alfredo. I think many are smart enough not to bring a camera haha!
Really great job Christian !!! Congrats man ! Regards from Portugal ( Junior ).
Thank you so much!
great vlog. Nice insights.
Glad you enjoyed it!
brilliant video my friend 👏
Thank you 👍 Will try to get another one this year!
Very stable when running ! What settings did you have on your GoPro ? Did you do any post processing ?
As far as stabilization it is really just the GoPro 9's built in hypersmooth and Horizon Level. I just hold my arm out the whole time myself trying to keep it still lol.
The only things I really do in post are reducing some of the overexposure and maybe bringing up some of the shadow areas. The Hero 9 does a pretty good job on it's own to be honest.
Thanks for watching, Terry!
@@ChristianRunsNY I ran on Sunday also !!
@@terryalexander4783 Congrats! What a day, right?!
Congratulations! This video is so inspiring even with the feeling of struggle. I’ll be running someday and this video helped bring me closer 💪🏼
You got this, Amanda!
Christian thank you for showing what we go through from the moment we get up until we finish the marathon, through you I was able to show my family how it was for me, I was behind you, actually you passed me at about mile 16th. Congrats and again thank you for sharing that great experience…
Congrats on a great race, Camilo!
Congrats Christian on persevering! You're the man!
Thanks, David. It really isn't hard in NYC. The people don't ever let you quit, and fellow runners always have your back out there. Amazing experience yet again no matter what!
Congrats Christian! I ran this year's NYC Marathon for the first time, I didn't finish at the time I wanted because my knees and calves were feeling intensely pressured, however, I finished. Next year will be a different game for both of us!
Congratulations on your first finish! There is always the next race to chase our goals!
Thank you Christian for inspiring runners around the world with your videos. I hope to run the NYC marathon in 2023 and who knows maybe get to thank you in person as I’m running.
Cheers and continue sharing your passion for running…it’s contagious! 😊
So nice, thank you! Hope you get to come out here in 2023!
I need these music tracks please!
Great job Christian! Hope your ankle will recover fast. Greetings from Switzerland
Thanks Chiron!
Sorry it wasn’t the race you were hoping for. But the video is awesome! I had to defer to 2022 after knee surgery this year. Hope your ankle is doing alright.
I'm doing okay, Joe. Thanks!
I'm back running this week a little bit at a time. I'll have to feel it out. Hope your knee is doing well and glad we'll be running together in 2022!
Great video. Ill be running nyc this year and seeing your video just made me even more excited. Thank you
You are going to have a blast!
Great run man.. watching all d nyc marathon videos here from India in d hope to run it some day myself..
Thank you, Rahul. Just keep putting your name in that lottery and you can run it one day!
Thanks for posting this video. Very inspiring. Congrats.
Thanks for watching!
Amazing, congratulations. Thank you for sharing…
You are very welcome, Cristian!
Great Job, congratulations and thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
what recording equipment do you use? go pro? congrats!!!
Thanks Kira! I do use a GoPro Hero 9.
Really great video. I have seen many videos from the race and I think this one gives me a better sense of what it's like to be out on the course than any other I have seen. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate that, Jim!
Well run, well vlogged ... and I want one of those blue ponchos - nice freebie.
They're a nice souvenir. Funny enough not everyone gets the freebie though, only if you opt out of bag check haha. But in 2021 they did give everyone a nice poncho!
Congratulations!... Great work Christian.
Appreciate it, Jorge! Thank you!
great video and amazing music. Congratulations
Many thanks!
Great job!! New York Cities greatest day!!
The best!
Wishing you a speedy recovery 💕 nd thanks for making us part of your Run. I really enjoyed this video and can't wait for my turn to run this race very soon 😍.
You will love it! I can't wait to do it again next year!
What Is that song in the end? It really ties up the whole video :)
I finally dug through my files, found it on RUclips if you want to check it out. It is Megan Wofford - Diamond ruclips.net/video/4DKg03VxN4Q/видео.html
Never once did you mention quitting. Congrats
Thanks Ken! I'm telling you, nobody would let you. I passed a woman in tears in the Bronx who was ready to stop, and immediately another runner stopped what he was doing and said, "Let's go, from here we walk together and we finish." And I saw them start walking, next thing I looked back she was jogging again. There is always someone who has your back no matter what in this race. It truly is incredible.
Way to go!! Love this. Thank you for sharing this!!! I am running 2022 and can't wait!!!
How exciting I cried I wish I was happy to run the New York Marathon but I live in another country I wish one day I was there and ran the marathon
Thank you for making a beautiful film. I wish I was in New York one day. This is my wish
💔⚘😔
Next time! Just keep putting yourself in that marathon lottery and you will get here one day.
⚘🤗
Christian, congratulations!!! I've enjoyed and appreciated following your journey. Thank you.
Thank you, more to come in the future!
Can I ask a question.
Is Manhattan NYC a safe place?
I wholeheartedly believe it a safe place to live. If I'm being honest, anyone who has bad intentions knows where to pick on people. Tourist areas like time square late at night, someone all alone in Central Park in the middle of the night for example.. Otherwise I have been up all night, walked my dogs at all hours in the dark, never once felt uneasy at all. I'm a guy, so I'm sure some women may have different experiences they can speak to that I just cannot.
Residential neighborhoods are friendly, I knew my neighbors in and out of my building. It's like anywhere in the world, there are some places better off avoiding, but generally there are ALWAYS people out and I feel more weird alone in a house than in NYC.
Well done, Christian! And thnx for the video
Thank you, Radoslaw!
Nah you did a GREAT JOB! Still had 10 miles to go and your legs started to hurt-that’s commendable and you didn’t stop. You kept pushing yourself. I would’ve passed out after mile 1. Thanks for recording, you and everyone has me in a running mood now.
A great mood to be in!
This is a very beautiful video thanks
I appreciate that, thank you!
Oberyn Martell getting ready in the front at 03:15
That's funny, haha.
Absolutely amazing!! Great job, man!!!! 🏃🏾💨
Thank you 🙌
Congrats! Awesome video 😁
Thank you, Bea!! 😁
Love your channel! New subscriber here! I’ve got a running based channel as well! Congrats 🎉
Awesome! Welcome, Alison!
Hey! do you wear insoles/inserts?
Hi Reece, not usually nope. Just whatever is in the shoe 99% of the time.
What time did you have to run in order to qualify for this event? I don't think I'll get there anytime soon.
You can find the qualification times here: www.nyrr.org/tcsnycmarathon/runners/marathon-time-qualifiers
@@ChristianRunsNY So you ran a sub 3?
Thank you Christian for posting! Congratulations on your finish. It was great to see the NYC marathon through a runner's eyes. 👏🏽👏🏽
Awesome - love the New York crowds
The best!
Good job! Very inspiring! And all the folks cheering on along the way just bring tears to my eyes for some reason :) Great support!
Meravigliosoooo... Grazie 👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼🥰
Thanks Angela!
Your video has been an inspiration for me this last month leading up to my first NYC. Thank you 🙏
Congratulations! I am re-committing to running after a 2-year break and your video is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Go for it! You got this Suzy!
Congratulations Christian!! Well done! You got really good footage as well, and a lot of it. My vlog is just a couple of minutes longer than yours. Thanks for taking us with you!
Congratulations on your race! I think this was a lifetime dream of yours to run NYC if I remember correctly? You did amazing, and I know all those emotions you felt when you crossed the finish line. Take it all in! NYC is really something special. Nice job filming your race as well!
@@ChristianRunsNY this is such an incredible race!!!
Very well done Christian. Super video. 👏🏻
This video brought back so many memories. Thank you.
Congratulations 🎉🎊!
Thank you, Hanya!!
Great accomplishment! Nice video, good to see the actual race and not a lot of talking.
Haha you beat me by 1 minute.
Close one!
Well done Christian from Raymond Elliot over here in Scotland, United Kingdom 🏴👍🏻
Thanks Raymond! Appreciate it!
@@ChristianRunsNY I’m doing the Edinburgh full marathon in April which is my 1st ever. I usually do half marathons. I was out running on Sunday and managed to do 22 miles in 4hrs 7mins. I’m 60 years old and thought I would give it a go.Watching videos like yours is just inspiring. Would love to do the New York Marathon but it seems quite difficult to enter.
@@raymondelliot4605 What I've learned is we can run farther and farther with a little more time on foot, and adding more fuel. I'm sure you can do it as a half marathoner.
Unfortunately NY is the toughest to enter by lottery. It has so many applicants. But you never know, it could be you! The time qualifiers are tight, but depending on your speed I believe there are half marathon marks that can get you in if you check the NYRR site.
@@ChristianRunsNY Thanks Chritian👍🏻
Congrats! I wish, someday we'll have as much fans throughout the race in Russia too.
Well done with the run, it was good to see the sights along the way, what an amazing buzz from the crowds! It looked a hard effort, you earned that medal, well done & I hope the stress fracture heals up soon Christian 👍🏃
Thanks so much!
Congratulations Christian, you rocked it. I did almost the same time (4:26:58). It was a painful ordeal at the last few miles for me. Much respect to you, because you Go Pro'd it also, good job!👍🏃♂️💪
Thanks so much, and Congratulations to you!!!
Awesome job!! Congrats!
Thanks Viktoria!
This was awesome man
I appreciate that!
Great video! Thanks for taking us with you to this great event!
AWESOME video and congratulations!! The NYC marathon is special.
Thank you, Jason!
Fantastic running in the BIG Apple! I ♥️ NY….THANKS FOR SHARING!!
Thank you, Claudia!
I've been trying to get into the NYC marathon for years, it's actually become a tradition to receive the reject letter year after year. Congrats gutting out the race despite the foot injury.
It can be really tough via the lotto for sure
Чувак! Ты сделал это!
I believe this translates to, "Dude! You did it!"? Thank you!
CONGRATULATIONS! Great video to capture some of the magic from that day. ☝️🤙👊
Thank you, Michael!
congratulations
Thanks Kevin!
Congratulations
Thank you, Johnny!
Well done muchacho!

Wow! Great footage- first time viewing your videos! Your video gave me a true experience of the NY marathon! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it, Londa!
Incredible journey. Hope you recover quickly. Your video brought joy to many of us who aspire to run a marathon or have ran but finished in the dark. Congrats again.
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the kind words. You all inspire me to keep going with your own goals and dreams. We're all on the same team working together.
Well done!

Please, cut the non-copyright music!!! It's horrific! Thanks for the ul...;) Well done. mate!
If you have any connections with top artists that want to sell me some music on a budget, lmk 🙃
Congrats Christian! Beautiful video, very inspiring. I hope one day I can run the NYC marathon too…
You can, this crowd can get you through anything! One step at a time and I'll be cheering you on!
Nice video, congrats!
This has gotten me fired up, my goal is to run 2023 after a really long running hiatus. The last time I ran NYC was in 1998.
I will be 53 next year and it will be 25 yrs later!!
I hope I get in...🤞🤞
Thank you for the great coverage!
Best of luck with the lottery!
Amazing ! Great race , Great city
Great job in cpaturing what it felt like to run. I ran a time very close to yours and it brought the feeling back. Was a great day. Thank you
It was such an amazing day. Congratulations, Gregory!!
Congrats on your finish. I've enjoyed watching all your videos leading up to this marathon. Your love of running is so evident in all your videos. Very inspiring to watch.
Thank you, Nancy! More races ahead soon!
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing, by far best overview I’ve watched. Racing nyc in 2 weeks!
Wow, thanks! Hopefully I'll get an even better video this year too!
Great run Christian and thanks for taking us along for a great experience. The marathon is all about perseverance. I want to be in your video next year: I've time qualified, hope I get in!
I have entry for 2022, hope to see you there! I'll be back in better form!
fabulous video. I did it this year coming from Australia and watching your video helped me re-orientate where everything was. I was aiming for 4 hours too and was briefly devastating crossing at 4:02 but nothing short of amazing this race. I can't believe you managed to get through with the problem you had! As my coach always said ' haven't come this far to only come this far'. Well done. Hope you get your redemption at some point.
It's a tough race, great run for the NYC Marathon!
Great job Christian! I think I stood just a few feet behind you from the start line. Congrats on finishing the race. Hope you are healing up.
Thanks Thomas! Congratulations to you too!
What a great video!!! Thank you so much for sharing your marathon with us. I will be in NYC for the 2022 edition and I can't wait!!
You are going to have a blast!
Great video!!!! It doesn’t get any realer than running a marathon 💪 well done 👏 I can’t wait to run it this year!
Have a great training block!
Congrats on finishing with the ankle problem, I hope to do NYC one year, the crowd support looks amazing 👍🏻
The crowd is unbelievable. The support from fellow runners as well as everyone watching this year after the year off was just amazing. You can certainly do it! Just start entering that lottery!
Congrats Christian, you made it finally and thats what count. Great filming and all the best for your next runs...
Thanks Ramyesh!
Thank you for reminding me why I switched to trail races. I never had a stress fracture but plenty of road racing injuries. :)
Definitely nice to be on softer ground
This was great. Thanks so much for sharing. You get to shave off a few minutes from your final time just because you held the selfie stick for that long--an impressive feat in its own right!
Thanks Dawid!
Dude!!! That video was unreal. Can’t wait to run that course 😎
Appreciate it, Stefan. Get excited, it's even better in person!
Congratulations Christian! Hats off to your perseverance 🏃
Thank you, Laukik!
