I was going to say to your world champion runner friend, who used to be a paralegal. Rather than come to london as professional run, come and use it as a fun run. A chance to get to know the london organisers Go running with the club runners it will make their day to be running with a super star runner.
You mentioned during the marathon you weren’t tired but your feet hurt. You think that was because of the HOKA shoes you were sponsored by? asking for a friend😢
@@ason2023 LOL Galaxy brain question. Hokas are good, but I'd suggest trying them on before you get them, if you get them, because, at least in my opinion, they tend to run narrow. They do have a generous return policy though. That said, I'm a brooks fan personally 🤣
Didn't expect this from Morning Brew but I really loved this video for some reason, I can't really put my finger on it. It just makes me happy and learn something cool at the same time.
Atleast in my country they always offer bad color t shirts like light blue vibrant pink violet like t shirt nobody bought and they probably have bunch that didint sell
I ran the NYC Marathon in the mid-80's and I cannot say enough good about those thousands of volunteers at the start, along the route, and at the finish line! Y'all are awesome!
I volunteered for the NY Road Runners Club, which puts together the NY Marathon, in the Eighties and worked their merchandise sales room at the Sheraton Hotel on the days before the race. You wouldn’t believe how much merchandise they sell. Runners want that memorabilia for themselves and to bring back to others. My wildest sale was a guy who wanted 70 Marathon T-shirts, all the same size, that he could bring back to his village in China. No problem.
Thank you RUclips sidebar for recommending this video to me; I was really impressed with the quality of the content, the production value, and the overall vibe. Congrats on your performance Macy (and to the whole team that assembled this finished product)
This is the first video of this channel I've seen. She did an 11 minute 11 second pace. Considering Macy never ran beyond 18 miles and considering she was doing 6 miles at a 13 minute pace week 1, this was a FANTASTIC result. The best I've ever done is 10 miles at a 10:31 pace. At some point, the issue becomes more about training your feet to handle the additional miles, but I could definitely keep that pace up for more miles. I'd love to one day do the marathon.
Congrats! I’m 53 and ran my first ever 1/2 marathon in Toronto a couple weeks back. I envy your youth when your first runs are already about the same distance and speed as my current long run days!😂 Anyway, RUclips suggested your channel because of the running thing but I took a look and you seem to have a lot of interesting content! (Subscribed!)
I work for a company that puts on marathons and people have no idea how much goes into putting on a race. Runners think we’re just raking in the cash but it can be a struggle to make a race profitable. Some races, we’re lucky to just break even.
Wow, finishing a marathon is no joke! You absolutely crushed it, way to go. Your dedication and hard work really paid off. Thanks for sharing your journey and inspiring us all. Now go enjoy some well-deserved rest!
This is one of the best videos I've seen all year yet I can't tell exactly what I liked so much about it! Congrats Macy!!! I'm running the NYC Marathon next year - see you at the start line. (:
This is your best video to date. Keep up the amazing work. The dedication is inspiring, congratulations on setting such an ambitious goal and seeing it through.
I work in the events industry... and heaps goes into an event to put it on! Staff and labour simply to put the event together, everything you see needs to be constructed, and then removed post-event, clean up crew, THOUSANDS of volunteers, cost of the timing company, bibs, timing chip, postage of the bibs (or bib collection needs to all be arranged pre-event). At the event you have port-a-loos - HEAPS, security, staff, volunteers, directors, and commentators. Hiring of equipment, all of the gates are usually hired as well... so much goes into events!
A drop in the bucket sky of 56k finishers this year, glad to have you out there. Join me and the pigeon pals when clocks flip back as I set up at the Staten Island Ferry next year
10:18 I'm sorry for the person finishing in 6th place, they're absolutely getting shafted regarding the prize money.. $10.00?? Even 7th place gets like 750 times as much! 😂😉 Anyways, I loved the video, especially all the gags, which were even more entertaining than the ones in the shorts! Macy is really carrying this channel with her refreshing way of presenting.
I always find it humbling when a someone freely admits to being a rank amateur at some athletic pursuit, puts up a total jabroni act during the entire preparation process, then grumbles about pain or weakness during the event, and I see the final result and it's about a hundred times better than anything I was ever capable of. Hey, thanks for doing this. It's good to see the view from the street. I promise to keep all this in mind when I watch the thing on DVR in a few days. 😉
Watching this was so relaxing, the way the content was delivered it was really sweet. A content with no agenda or ulterior motives(apart from hoka 😅). Loved it.
Congratulations! I was actually searching for videos of the winner of this past weekend's NY marathon and found this. You're such a humble person and forgot to mention that you not only won the New York marathon, but also broke the women's world record in the process. All with less than a year of training.
Ironically, still had a tourist on an electric city bike ride the whole course on Sunday while filming an influencer. Guess Mark Levine didn’t do his job
Choi has been banned for life from the New York marathon and was dropped by his sponsor but security really should have been better; they shouldn’t have let it happen in the first place. I lived in Boston in 2013; I know first hand how important marathon security is and what can happen when they’re so loosey-goosey with it.
As someone who has just finished their 10th marathon, this was very interesting. I've always wondered the $$ side of things for the city and organizers. New York has been paving the way for smaller cities like mine (Cincinnati) to host incredible races each year. Super cool to see how many cities started hosting marathons in the 2000s.
adding this to the list of insane things ive done for content! what should i do next?
well now you need to run a small locally organised marathon to compare
I was going to say to your world champion runner friend, who used to be a paralegal. Rather than come to london as professional run, come and use it as a fun run. A chance to get to know the london organisers

Shout out to Macy for going all in with this video. I dig this approach to Gonzo reporting
This is lowkey the most epic (and hilarious 😂) gonzo reporting I've ever seen. Mad respect!
I dont know why but the way she talks in this one keeps reminding me of that Onion "autist reporter" sketch. She just manages to match his tone.

What if a family of tourists on e-bikes gets on the course…..gee that actually did happen on Sunday! thanks Matt Choi
Was looking for this one, it actually was 2 e-bikes lol
What about an influencer with a camera crew on e-bikes… exactly what came to mind

Great Video! I ran NY this weekend and Berlin in September, and the crowd support, organization, and feel of NYC could not be beat at all!
This was crazy educational, I love it
I just ran NYC, but honestly this is a race to enjoy it, not thinking about breaking PB. Run for fun, and new yorkers are the best.
