Dyno testing isn't consistent from one machine to the next, especially between brands. A dyno isn't going to actually tell you the HP and Torque numbers reliably as much as it's going to show you the chart of the power bands. Making the power bands match what you want is all a dyno is really for. Stop reading "dyno numbers" and taking them to heart.
Leg maker ain’t giving nothing…. If it’s pulling air from the engine bay only, it’s not a cold air intake. The hellcat airbox comes with a pipe connected that comes right to the front Of the car effectively pulling in cool fresh air. I put one on my scat pack.
Exactly it’s a noise maker. Sucking in that heat from the engine bay, likely a slight reduction in power when its heat soaked and warm outside. 🎉

A dyno is a tool to measure hp and torque - it’s not an exact science and there will be variations based on the dyno, weather conditions, elevation etc. You can’t measure on a dyno and think Dodge is misrepresenting. This is no surprise and the “Leg Maker” is only making noise not power. Air intakes have been proven to do little to nothing on any car and primarily a noise maker. While there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the noise it’s not a power maker and the “Leg Maker” is just a noise maker. 🎉

Direct connection is not worth the money even for the warranty.
Just wait for the warranty to be up spend 3k and get 780+ to the wheels 850+ crank.
I agree on the Direct Connection not being worth it. There are plenty of reputable shops that will get you 800+whp and warranty their work. I'm not sure about 3k though. It ran me almost 10k but that is a very stout setup.
@Apex_Predator_PlumpCat I paid just over 3200 for a Clutched 2.85 upper pulley, 1050 injectors, 180 tstat installed with a 93 tune. It net me 783 to the wheels. From a reputable shop.

Understating HP is nothing new, the auto industry was doing that at least as far back as the late 60’s because of rising insurance rates for muscle cars. As I recall the original 426 Hemi was rated at only 425hp and every other manufacturer’s performance engines were similarly underrated.

Demon on the stock PCM might be that low... on the OG demon you need to swap the PCM and run race fuel to get those big numbers.
Legmaker probably takes away 5HP 😂, since it's taking all that hot air from the engine. Enclosed air intake is the best.

Well my 2015 Srt Hellcat Challenger 6m that's 6 speed manual made 692 rwhp. On the Dyno.Only engine accessories is a jlt oil catch can and a legmaker intake. Stock engine , transmission, heck stock everything in powertrain 😂.
692whp is about 760hp to the crank, when i had my zl1 6 speed manual it made 602whp bone stock.

They do this on purpose to meet the EPA standards etc. The same thing happens in Japan, especially in the 90s. Look at the Subaru’s and Nissans produced in the 90s, youll see that the power rating was severely limited in their manufacturing specifications and marketing. They had at least 100hp more than what was stated.

I have a v6 challenger but I still like watching these videos on hellcats and stuff. I want a demon challenger but I cant justify the cost, so i have my v6 challenger as a fan boy 🙂
V6 is underrated. A lot of guys put a SC on theirs and pick on everything except Hellcats... Or even Hellcat owners that can't drive 😂
RIPP and Procharger both make kits that will put you in the 500whp range

@2xd1000 Yeah the warranty goes bye bye as soon as you unlock and tune your PCM. As for resale you don't get anything extra for your mods unless you sell to a private party. That's why most of us keep the OEM parts to put back to stock if we do trade in or sell to a dealer.

I have a 2020 Dodge Charger Pursuit 5.7L Hemi AWD. It is hard for me to find an AWD dyno. I have a Whipple Dodge 5.7L Gen 5 3.0L Supercharger Kit and it pulls like a beast with snow tires. I have around 550 Horse power 560 Lbf of torque. I always catch Scat Pack's off guard. My only issue is the Mercedes-Benz 5G-Tronic transmission because I wish it had more gears. Triple Nickel is the best paint color for the Charger.
You can swap out the transmission to the 8 speed they have swap kits it’s been done before you would just need to get the electronics to communicate which they do sell
@@redhunnid5142 I am also excited about the Hurricane I6 Sixpack SO and HO. Given I have the Hemi V8 with AWD with a tune the I6 with AWD will be something else. I prefer I6 over V6 because the of a more V8 like power curves.
Being supercharged, it's probably better that it has a 5 speed instead of an 8 with that kind of supercharger that you have on your car. If you had a procharger or turbo, then you'd benefit greatly with an 8 speed.
The leg maker actually reduces your HP.

I got a k&n cold air intake filter on my V6 charger it's so fast im basically driving 5.7 V8 RT. Im finna film and post the test run on YT w/FHP
Og you need a oil catch can ASAP to catch that extra bypass oil from getting into your supercharger lid and the actual blower itself over time I’m sure that may create a issue not sure but to be on safe side i recommend one💯. I have JLT one.

DC will give you a warranty with that package deal , it's somewhere around 4k , and all the extra hp,tq that you going to get from this package is crazy numbers 100+ hp

congrats on the gains, but as a redeye owner. you dont have a redeye. your supercharger is smaller, you only have 1 fuel pump, weaker engine internals, the redeye and demon have beefed up rear ends, axles and drive shafts, etc etc.

Very impressive. I was going to Palmer Dodge anyway later this year for my kits. But now I'm super anxious. If they can do that for a regular Hellcat I wonder what horses my Redeye will make. Demon170 numbers perhaps. Or a hairline close.

That would be pretty cool to have. But that would be nearly a 30k engine not counting the cost of labor installing the thing.
We dyno’d a redeye stage 2 last year it made 802whp on the same dyno. Kit is rated for 886hp at the crank according to DC but our numbers came out to 926hp at the crank (if my memory is correct, don’t hold me to it). The DC kits are definitely underrated, the redeye stage 2 is a lot bang for the money. We also have our own stage kits for people who don’t care about warranty and want more power! Food for thought and give us a shout when you’re ready, we will get you straight whichever direction you want to go!

I had a redeye that was 797hp from factory when I got the direct connect it went to 885hp so what would that be to the rear wheels?
Around 752whp considering a 15% loss.
We put a Redeye DC stage 2 on the dyno and it put down 806 WHP

Hellephant is a crate motor that you can buy from direct connection it’s 1000hp but if you don’t wanna spend 30k on a motor you buy a kit that come with that pulley for more boost and a tune would give your car smooth response and more horsepower depending on modifications like headers or a cam

Won’t be noticeable it’s less than 10% gain and Dodge wastes more than 10% spinning. All you’ll notice is about 10% increase in spinning the tires at the line.

At least you found a dealer that can and was willing to do those Direct Connection kits. I can't find one to go to within an 8 hour drive....so, guess I'll do it myself
I hear you! I get calls from other Power Broker dealers all the time who can’t get the pulley off or don’t understand how to work the tuner. Without trashing Dodge too much, they never trained us to install these kit. I have an extensive background in racing and performance before i came to my dealer, not all dealers have someone like me in the service department, so thats why no dealership is willing to install them unfortunately. That said if you need any help or guidance feel free to give us a call, i don’t mind helping or offering advice!

As much as I like Dodge and mind you the car I want is a Challenger Scat Widebody. The Mustang GT with the Gen 2 and 3 Coyote Platform is just as good if not a better platform. Now I paid 16k for my 2016 Mustang GT it will cost me about $6500 for a Gen5 Whipple 3.8l kit and about anywhere from 750 to 1000 bucks for a dynamic tune right. I'll be around 860-900whp on a 3.00 pulley and that's a conservative street tune right and my Mustang weighs less than a Charger or Challenger. I'll walk your Hellcat and every hellcat that lines up beside me. See all the one the one thing everyone always forgets about is Power to Weight ratio and as we all know the Dodge platform is heavy playform.platform. Also for Scat guys out there go build your engine. You engine is better than the hellcat engine and is capable of putting out way more power than the hellcats measly 376 ci engine can put out. What engine block do yall think is used for the 426 builds. The 6.4 is capable of being built to hold 2k hp guys dont let anyone talk shit just cause they got a hellcat or Demon those engines ain't shit and they know it.
Mustangs can be made very fast for a great price. They beat up on most of the PlumpCats... Until Hellion made that sleeper twin turbo kit 😊

I can't believe you saying all these hp numbers an you don't even where the thermostat is on your car. Its a 180 deg thermostat do you know what it dose be changing it from a 220 deg to a 180. With out going to the internet and looking it up. Do you know what the bottom blower ( supercharger ) Pulley dose by changing it to a smaller one?? Without looking it up. You said your getting 785 at the crank , An your getting 707 at the wheels thats not right you only lose 15% to 20 % between the crank an wheels , That is 78 hp lose at the wheels That isn't right at all. I would go to a diff dyno. An run it on a hub dyno.
