I remember watching this when I was a kid. I even remember Li Mei having a short cameo in the Dr. Strange Sorcerer Supreme movie. Whatever anyone's opinion on this movie, I will say this; this was by far a better Mandarin than what we got in the MCU (and I mean in both Iron Man and Shang Chi) The Mandarin honestly felt like a threat in the movie, even though he didn't appear until the end. He's supposed to be what Iron Man isn't; while Iron Man is about technology and represents the advancement into the future and sharing this gift with the world, the Mandarin relied on sorcery and wanted to hoard the power for himself, much as rulers tended to do so long ago. animated iron man from 90's also contains the first scene of tony stark banging his secretary in a jaccuzi and 2007 movie does exactly that wich is absolutely great while MCU has tony play in the casino
This kinda sounds like a bad movie version of Ironman Armored Adventures Season 1 that focuses on an adult Tony instead of a teen Tony, Tony is already Ironman when he’s kidnapped by a group connected to the Mandarin, Howard Stark is still alive while Tony’s mother is dead, the Mandarin only has five rings, Tony isn’t an arrogant jerk at first and immediately wants to help people without weapons and with the Ironman suit, but Armored Adventures used all of that well but this just sounds like it barely tried so it’s like the team behind Armored Adventures looked at this movie and said “okay, let’s do that, but much better” Also why did they have Tony use the “Mark 1” in the final battle? Was he unable to use the red and gold suit? Another better thing for something related to Ironman since the game Ironman VR had Tony use the MK 1 in the final mission/boss as well but that made sense because Gunsmith (Tony’s first AI before Friday (cause I guess ever sense Age of Ultron Jarvis has just been nonexistent or something)) could take control of Tony’s tech and use the Impulse suit against him so Tony had to use something that Gunsmith couldn’t control so he got the MK 1 from the cave, fixed it up, and made the right upgrades, that all made sense but why did he use that suit for the final battle here like I actually wanna know
This film is alright, wish we had more of the classic Red and Gold armor, since they advertised that suit so much, I mean it’s even in the poster, yet it only appeared for like 1 fight scene. I will say tho that the soundtrack is absolutely fire!
