In today’s video, I want to talk about the incredible health benefits of cinnamon. Cinnamon has been used for over 4,000 years and was used as a holy anointing oil in the Bible, having incredible therapeutic and antioxidant benefits.
Some of the ways I recommend using cinnamon are:
1. For healing any skin conditions
2. For diabetes
3. Improving energy levels (helps with weight loss and balancing hormones)
4. Helps heal and cure candida (improves UTI)
The cinnamon you’re consuming needs to be Ceylon instead of cassia. Ceylon cinnamon is better for you internally and doesn’t have any of the side effects that cassia has. Some of the best ways to get cinnamon in your diet are by adding it to your morning smoothie or a homemade dessert.

I put it in my coffee almost daily and in Greek yogurt with blueberries. Chicken, fish oil, olive oil, avocados, Greek yogurt, blueberries, cinnamon, spinach, whole eggs, and garlic daily. Healthy fats, berries, green leafy veggies, full fat meat, fish oils, working out 5x a week, and cinnamon on a keto diet have kept my skin glowing, hair extremely healthy, and really helped out my depression.
I might do that more, I've only done my coffee and my poor mans almond milkshake workout drink. Ha
I add cinnamon to my coffee, tea, oatmeal, smoothies, peanut butter & banana grilled sammies...anywhere, everywhere!
Green tea + honey + cinnamon in the morning. I used to suffer from allergies. All gone since I began drinking this mix.
All Cassia type Cinnamon have high levels of Coumarin a substance known to cause liver damage, while Ceylon Cinnamon is the only soft and brittle Cinnamon with ultra low Coumarin levels.

cinnamon, raw honey, ginger, turmeric, coconut oil, warm coconut milk=great stuff
How u use them..especially coconut oil
not if you dont know how to use them properly there are other very strong ashagandha garlic red propolis and instead fresh ginger + garlic +_raw honey (dark) bio is a great combo add some banana , only cocunut extra virgin oil carefull xd fresh turmeric or if not you need some fat+lemon or apple cider vinegar to ignore the chance of oxalate problems and stones. and with honey + turmeric +fatif properly blended give you the maximum effectivness , also add lemon+unfiltered (means fresh less than 6 months and more powerfull) +olive oil , and if you want for skin face care unfiltered olive oil + few drops of tea tree essential oil bio and later extra virgin cocunut oil + turmeric +raw honey for 20 min

Cinnamon +cayenne +seasalt + butcher cut pepper +butter makes steak amazing
Thanks for the essential oil videos! You mentioned that the Holy Anointing Oil was to be poured on the heads of the sick; according to Exodus 30:32, "Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you." Hope that helps.
Right, that one was not for just anything. But they used it for other thinfs
Eh, no, I don't get it. Does that mean the 'holy' oil containing cinnamon cannot be used on the human body?
Then how was it used and to what purpose?
Thanks for the scripture ref.
Thank you for the very helpful information on! 👍
Cinnamon is a a gift from nature. I love it.
Thanks Dr for teaching us about which cinnamon is better.
Thank you for such helpful information! Much love from Canada
I do intermittent fasting and my first meal lately has been always oatmeal. Oatmeal is the perfect food to add cinnamon to for me. It really makes the dish less plain along with fruit like banana or chopped apple.
Has oatmeal been your first meal LATELY or ALWAYS? Your statement makes no sense.
@@ronlawrence5635 Lately = some time period. Always = every time. While my grammar wasn't particularly perfect, it doesn't take much thought to infer its meaning. Yikes...
Bruh I read this while eating oatmeal and cinnamon with a chopped apple and banana...
@@aaronhoward1066 lol! My breakfast too only i love peach inside with ceylon cinnamon and chia seeds
And blueberries, a banana, a heaping tablespoon of unrefined coconut oil, and a teaspoon of organic raw honey...mmmmmmm.

Thank you Dr axe for caring about us when doctors visit s don't.
Great information!
So basically for all our lives we've been consuming the wrong type of cinnamon. It sounds like par for the course from our hole in one Government.
Wow that is great! I put cinammon in my coffee instead of sugar and in my plain yogurt.
Great video! very informative.
Thank you Dr.Axe I use Cinnamon and Turmeric in my cereal every morning as well as blueberries I learn so much from you

My favorite is Korinje cinnamon. So sweet and flavorful!

Cold Chia seed porridge with cinnamon so good and super good for you and it’s good everyday
In otherwords, true cinnamon is known as "cinnamomum zeylanicum" (or cinnamomum verum), as opposed to "cinnamomum cassia" that originates from China.
And as a side note, that is where Ceylon (now known as Sri Lanka) derives its name from (zeylanicum --> Ceylon).
I use cinnamon every morning with my cereals!
And many thanks for your videos, love them!
Totally agree, Cinnamon is great for balancing sugar levels. Thanks Josh
Good thing it balances the sugar because the French toast i put it on is drowning in maple syrup.
Mike Hunt. dr josh reply to you? he should lol.if not we gonna bust his cheeks
Do not use Maple sugar, Get No Sugar Syrup!! very little difference@@mikehunt4797
@@mikehunt4797 ....FOUR YEARS LATER....😆😆👍🏼
@@MisterBlue80 Better late then never! lol
I make my own season blend... for meats and just over all cooking....I add cinnamon in the blend you can't really taste the difference once it's incorporated in...and it helps to give like air fried or baked chicken that dark rich color

Thanks you so much sir dr Josh
Hello, could you please explain how cinnamon protects against bacteria and pathogens as well as the plague? Thanks
Thanks for sharing at first I bought cinnamon done research and ordered Ceylon cinnamon 🦋💫💫💫💫💫
Thank you, Dr Axe. The Ceylon Cinnamon is from Sri Lanka. Ceylon is the old name for Sri Lanka and it is pronounced: Se-lone
i use cinnamon sticks in green tea along with ginger and cloves. i simply put ingridients in tea cup and pour in hot water, leave standing for 10 mins. relieves pain, gives me alot of energy and i can concentrae better. do you guys think this is a safe practice? please let me know.
i use 5 sticks of cinnamon (15g), whole cloves (30g), fresh crushed ginger (1 to 1 1/2 ounces) and 4 packets of dilmah green tea.
Because of how much I love cinnamon I’m watching this cardio to make sure it doesn’t harm me.... I mean I try to keep the balance but I can’t imagine my day without cinnamon!!!!
Btw u can add cinnamon to your tea, milk, pea nut butter (on a slice of toast or banana yummmm), banana shake and you can add cinnamon to many desserts but the ones I just mentioned are the easiest.
Video **** 🙃
needed my weekly dose of Dr. Axe :) so informative as always
Dreamloverlambi1 good
It works nice and good
I have whole Ceylon cinnamon sticks and i boiled a couple of little pieces, pour some honey and yea, cured from my cold in just 2 days and one heck of a energy boost and my skin looks so smooth. 😊😊
Ceylon Cinnamon best cinnamon in the world!
Thanks Dr. Axe, you saved another life again:-)
I add it to cereals, plain yogurt, make tea,.coffee, anything sweet. Custard, like arroz con leche , cream of wheat...
Outstanding information given in this video. Thank you 😊
I knew cinnamon was good for you but was unaware about the 2 varieties ....Ceylon and Cassia. I did some checking and although Ceylon is safer in larger quantities most health studies seemed to be with Cassia. Anyway, good video. Thanks for sharing.
I love adding about 22 bags of cinnamon spice ( heating water first) to one gallon of water then drinking it cold and it taste awesome. 😊
Be careful consuming that amount
Proanthocyanidins (PACs) bind Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) thus preventing inflammation!
Foods high in PACs include cinnamon, cocoa, tea, cranberries, blueberries, grapes, plums, apple skin, almond skin, hazelnut skin, black bean coats, ...
Just another amazing component of plants.
We are Christians and believe this is great. I put it in my hair. Thanks for your advice bro
Okay how or what benefits of it on your hair pls
@@marciaroyaltywaldron3030 - I makes it more shiny ! 🙂
wow thanks for the information
I'm literally eating a spoonful of pure cinnamon powder right now. I like cinnamon. It's my favorite spice
Be careful. Ive heard of people choking on the dry powder.
If you're into anti-oxidants, not much is better than Cinnamon in terms of concentration, since many items that are higher (only 6 known according to this video) are not always edible. But like anything else, don't go crazy and start chugging Cinnamon...anything can be bad when you take too much. Make sure you find out what is a reasonable serving size.
Thanks Dr Josh for this great info
Thank you dr. Josh Axe...
Its so funny to hear the word cinnamon so many times and even he had trouble saying it a few times. Humor aside great info
I also eat the sticks and I was becoming quite addicted so I made a conscious effort to stop. I actually still crave it. I simply love cinnamon everything.
Thank you, great advice.👍👌🌟🇺🇸
sprinkled cinnamon on sliced apple is pretty great
Hi Dr Axe,
How much Cinnamon should be have a day?
Thanks
I drink a mix of water, ceylon cinnamon, organic honey, and black seed oil in the morning and before bed every day
Thanks. It's part of what I put in my coffee.
Thank you for clarifying the differences between Ceylon and Cassia. Most people seem to only know about Cassia, then they buy the cheap bottle at the grocery which contains fillers. Bleh.
I've been mixing it with my protein shakes. AMAZING
Hi do you know in what quantities can cinnamon oil be consumed and for how long?
Most if not all ( depends on your particular region ) cinnamon in Europe is from the Cinnamonum zeylanicum ( syn. C. verum ) ... funny how ppl in the US get Cinnamomum cassia. Either way, there's nothing wrong with the former either, it just has more coumarine, which is not a biggie. A lot of plants do and are perfectly safe to use, as long as one does not vastly exceed the suggested/recommended daily intake.
I have been praying for something natural to use on my skin that will actually work and help my acne. I am going to start trying this today. I have HEB ground cinnamon right now but will look for Ceylon when I am out. I have raw honey so going to start this every night starting today!
I purchase mine from Amazon.
For skin use pure aloe vera or witch hazel. Game changer.
I use. Cinnamon for long time thank for the information Ceylon I will look for this name 😊
Ceylon is the former name of Sri Lanka!
Thank u for sharing!
HELLO JOSH. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU COULD DO A VIDEO ON BLACKSEED OIL !!!
Thanks for the video. It is important to get Ceylon Cinnamon. Other type of Cinnamon or Cassia Cinnamon has a toxic substance called Cumin.
Please address the pros and cons of Saigon tea it is very aromatic and got good flavor but what are the health benefits of Saigon tea... thank you very much
i have it as a tea, and I love it.
Thanks dr.axe and dr.berg
Thank you Dr Axe
Thanks Bruh! Added them to the oats
I make a mouthwash with a couple drops of both cinnamon leaf oil and oregano oil in water with a little pink salt.
If you don't like the salt taste, a little stevia is good in it too. It works very well.
Cloves, preferably freshly ground, for teeth, mixed with salt if desired. Only a tiny amount is sufficient for gentle brushing.
Real oregano oil burns, so is put into a capsule immediately prior to consumption. Start with 6 drops for no longer than five days in a row then take at leadt a week off. Use only when an infection or inflammation is present.
I’m using Cinnamomum now praying it helps shrink this fibroid tumor, which it is known to do.
