So happy to hear your son is coming to live in Australia!! So happy for you Brian. Best part of this episode.
Seriously! Congrats Bryan, that's incredible. Being able to spend more time with him must have done wonders!
Hey Bryan, long time fan of the channel.. Really happy for you that your son decided to live with you in Australia..
Extremely happy to hear your lil man is coming to stay with you Bryan.
I have two of my own and they mean the world to me.
You’re a great dad and definitely deserve this huge win in your life.
Thanks for all you do on the channel.
Your without question one of the hardest working out there on this platform.
The community loves ya buddy!
That dual-socket working will be glorious!
Great news about your son, as the dad to 4 boys myself im super excited to hear hes coming to stay. Keep up the great videos and enjoy that time, Im Sure Dadman ill ecstatic also
I find it better to thoroughly test out a HDD is to use software from the manufacturer of the drive if they have it. For example Western Digital Dashboard for WD drives. If you run the thorough test it can take a while depending on the size of the drive, but if there are any bad sectors it will find them. And it can also tell you the health status of the drive. This is very good for testing out drives to find out if they are a good candidate to be part of a RAID array.
2:09 Its Mad Catz mouses probably models before bankruptcy, R.A.T is just model name
0:36 Don't worry. I'll teach you how to Tech YES Microsolder.
Great news about your son. When my kid was smaller I would have died if I couldn't have him around.
😄 dont get attached, these baby mommas are unreliable nowadays
17:15 Marco indeed would love this.
That's wonderful news, Bryan! Thank you for sharing.
As to the Jedi and having a green dual Xeon board, mate, you have to do a dark Yoda theme.
Nuff said!
Way Too Go! Maybe we’ll see a Senior , Junior build off 🤓✌️🇨🇦
What Bryan says about doing the flip up challenge in Japan is totally legit. I have been here in Japan since floppy drives, and Battle Chess were the thing. The toughest crowd to sell a whole pc too was right in his back yard.
These are my favorite TYC videos; thanks for all the crisp content, Bryan! 🤩
Awesome to see these Can Yes Fix It series going! Love to see the people sending in parts. And really amazing your son is wanting to go to Australia! Hope he gets to stay with you and grow up with an awesome father.
Northwestrepair "the other guy" :D
Love hearing the mad man intro again.
Sorry for a few comments here, but that huge news about your son! Congrats, dude! I hope that ends up working out. I know the distance and time away has got to be crazy, and I remember how tough visitation became during covid for you.
Very happy for you guys!
Awesome vid!!! Can't wait for the follow-up. Take care
So many cool parts... can't wait to see that xoen watercool build and what's in those other boxes
Good news Brian that you've got through a lot of the "stuff" and your son wants to live in Aus.
I hope that dual CPU board ends up in an awesome custom build. You'd better show us! 😊
Yes thats very good news, he should have gotten Sole Full Custody long time ago, boys need their fathers
Good to see that things are working out Bryan! Keep it up
Thanx for the content Bryan, can't wait to see what you do with the xeon platform
Awesome! waiting for Pt2 !
This is why you're my favorite tech channel. Keep up the used hustle vibe.
Damn nice haul. GG folks 👍
Edit: just wanted to add if all else fails disassembled GPUs in a box frame makes nice art 😂
I'm so Glad Your Son is Coming to Live with You 😀 I am a single Father too and my Son came to Live with me as well so well done m8!
All the Best,
Jimmy from NY
😃👍
YEAH! Awesome news about your son!!!
Edit: commented before he got to the bios part 😂. Good job!
I'd suspect a lot of 470/480/570/580s could have modified mining bioses on them. I always refreshed them with stock bioses off of techpowerups VGA bios collection and that has done the trick on a few of them. Always can do the paperclip trick to if the bios is bricked or has issues to get it reflashed.
this is true, but a lot of the mining cards these days just die due to soldering points degrading either on the memory chips or core or both ive fixed many just by re flow but some need to be resoldered
congratulations on your little yes man coming to Oz! i really like him, saw your video of you making a PC for him back in Japan a long while ago! I am so glad he has such an awesome father
Always love the Bryan TYC energy 🥳💪in every video!
Glad to see your son is coming to us here in Australia 🇦🇺 and you’re looking at him going to school locally ….. it should be an amazing experience for him 😇🥰👍
Glad you got my parcel of goodies etc Bryan 😇👍
As for the dual-cpu board - do not overlook the SSD that should be in one of the compartments of the motherboard box. It has clean W10 installed and activated with all the drivers and stuff :) Good luck with the build!
Opening that box had to of been like a heart stopper.
That dual socket motherboard is a treat, pair it with the highest-end xeons possible and it would make an incredible homw gaming server. You could host at least 16 game servers on it (depending on the age of the game) and you could make quite some nice money per month. What an amazing find.
For sure a gaming server would be epic. Then hand over the reigns of the server to Tech Yes Lil Man! I did something along that line with my 2 oldest kids in 2006. Both of them passed at top of the class at IT college. They never got into my enthusiasm of building pc's, or cars. That is my job, haha!
@@Willbme4EVA I had a friend in the parts who had these dual socket motherboards and used them to host home gaming servers. Since the games didn't require too much power he was able to host 40+ servers at home on 2 machines I think. He made INSANE amounts of money from 2008 to 2016. I mean THOUSANDS a month, so much in fact he bought nice bikes, cars and built monster computers and even more servers to make more money as he at the time could pay for enterprise-type internet connection.
These things are really worth it, you just have to make sure you got a good connection, stable power, and know how to do virtualization in Linux.
Guys spam him with as much broken stuff as you can I love this content its my favorite thing he does!
Bryan is mostly about 80's beats, but his hands are pure METAL!!!
cool stuff, it'd be neat if you took a multimeter or something to narrow down the fault up to where you couldn't fix it.
excited to see part 2!
Congratulations on getting you son over to Australia!
Damn, that's some quality gear. I should really start a YT channel. Awesome news about your son mate, great stuff. 😉
When tech yes man said If it gonna waste more of your time than to fix it- i felt that
given up on trying to fix my faulty ram issue that works 20% of the time
Allot of the time the ram is not really faulty, it is just not compatible with the system you are running with its XMp profile. Not seated correctly, or in the correct slots. Cpu can be the culprit also, I always like to repaste and reseat the cpu as long as the case cover is open. Toss up your specs, mobo, ram, cpu and bios version. If you are thinking of just getting a new ram kit the same as you have that might not be best.
Bryan, for the green and metal grey, the only possible caharacter would be Bobba Feet in the Star Wars universe.
An homage to Mandalorians would be interesting to too :)
I think it's usually better to test anything used you receive as is before cleaning it even superficially. If the part doesn't work, you can't be sure if it came not working or something you did broke it.
Only Con : Wish it was longer. I love these kinda Vidz
Mad man intro is back👌👌👌
So good to hearing from your son. Hope you can get some quality time together
As an ITX PC builder 😇🥰🥳for all my multiple pc rigs for about 12yrs😱🤯now, there are many ITX pc cases which are cube shaped , even some large ATX cases which basically utilise 20cm case fans so it maybe worth looking at ITX cases or ITX pc builders on eBay or something to sell these for as I’ve generally sold old a few of these in the past to people.
Brian melting down all that computer junk and walking away with Gold bars...
Heartwarming news your son spending more time with you! Congrats! I do have a question, the Mouse, tell us about the mouse! Not the MadCatz (Have one and I love it) the Logitech, what is the model number?? I have been wanting one of those for ages. And, the guy to fix a GPU is Northwestrepair, Tony is the MAN!
Always makes me want to send my Voodoo 3 in for one of these. It most likely need a reballing and a replacement of one of the memory chips.
Great thanks
Hey Brian. I have the same exact RX580 8G you got with the same exact problem. It started having issues about 2 years ago. After spending some time diagnosing the issue, It turned out to be the V-BIOS Chip. I believe it was just derogation overtime causing the GPU to work on occasions. I replaced the V-BIOS chip then flashed a newer BIOS version for the same exact card and had no issues since then. After I stress-tested the GPU, I gave it the " TECH YES LOVIN" by cleaning off all the dust, replacing the thermal paste and thermal pads and it's been solid ever since. I use it on an Emulator/HTPC system that I built just for emulating and streaming videos and till this day it's had no issues.
I have a Koolance waterblock for a GTX 680, that never got installed. Still have an Evga 480 with a slab of a cooler. Got some hella thick pipes.
MAD MAN OPEN!
Boba Fett or Yoda for the mobo theme, IMO.
The throw back intro took me back.
If you ever want to see genuine love in a mans face. Congrats on your son coming over mate.
Good to hear about your son. I heard from some of my other Japanese friends that they are trying to leave because the yen is so undervalued. It's great if you want to visit right now, but certain things like tech can be 50% more expensive. 😮
Cool stuff
I personally have had no Issues with RX 580s, I own 2 of them & have used them in many budget builds. BUT I have not purchased any used ones in a couple years. I got a New one from Ali Express for 50$ (well at least the Cooler & PCB were new, it may have been repurposed GPU) but it works fine. Must be having at least some bad luck but also the Cards are quite old & anyone that was using them in the last 2 years on newer titles probly Overclocked them to their Death or close to it trying to squeeze out that performance.
🙂 i have three new ones, they dont work on older motherboards, they dont work with older TVs
Congrats for the video quality and free stuff you get! :D
Also please unplug the fans (from GPUs and Motherboards) before blow the air to them. :)
I still have one of those Athlon single core DDR1 system bought around 20 years ago. Guess it's time for some restoration project
I'm still wanting to see pictures of people walking upside down in australia. Still haven't seen them yet. We don't live on a spinning globe. Look forward to this series Brian have a great day man..
happy to hear the situation with your son . i have a daughter that i've only seen every 2 weeks since she was 6 years old. she's 21 now. and now i see her even less because 'boyfriend' lol . i can't imagine what it must have been for you but i can understand it a little bit.
In Japan there is very little demand for gaming PC's specially used ones, there are tons of Hard Off's and Tsukumo's and Even Rakuten, Mercari & Yahoo Auctions online marketplace for everything. Earning a profit from assembling/reselling used PC's is next to impossible there. If you still wanna use Japan then just go there on vacation and spend money buying/hunting bargains by the truckload then bring em to your home country to resell. Yesman already tried selling there and failed...
For testing HDs, being able to install and boot Windows isn't a great test of whether the drive is actually okay. For mechanical HDs you're better off running something like badblocks that will test the entire drive. For SSDs I don't know an equivalent (you can run badblocks but it will obviously lessen the lifespan), but generally just checking the SMART data seems a pretty good test.
Great idea for the channel. Looks like you have enough parts for 5 years worth of content 🤣
Last christmas I gave you my card, bu the very next day.. you gave it away. lala lalala lalala laalalaaaa
I used a Sapphire RX 580 8GB for almost 4 + years before upgrading I had no issues at all
most of the cards with issues come from miners
To test a CPU AIO try it with the pump power disconnected. The CPU will get hot very quickly and cool down fast with the pump reconnected.
I bought used in mint condition Rx 580 from power colour had it for 2yrs don't have any issues only had driver issue once but redo with ddu and works fine, not sure why others are dying
The c621 is insane.
If the board doesn't work, strip the ecc dimms (rams) out and build another 2 set of X99 😂
Nice video.
Wow Bryan that's amazing news re your son! Really snuck that update in the back of the video there.
i enjoy this content
I wonder any electronics technicians in AUS could be a start of a beautiful friendship.
Amazing news re your son coming to live with you here in Oz.
😃👍
Can you make a video on how to price gaming PCs for flipping? What should the profit margins be based off of how much you spend?
14:00 is bryan yes man from fallout new vegas? 😂
Great news re: your son Brian - congrats mate
The mandalorian for the theme PC
what was the stuff in the can that you sprayed all over the gpus?
At 16:30 you talked about what I'm stuck on. I have an ASUS TUF x570 motherboard, I got an older CPU, which works great, but I have a 5800x3d that's just sitting there because it doesn't work. ASUS does not have a bios update for it...of any year. I've spent a lot of time over the last weeks not finding it. Any suggestions would be great!
WHO in their right mind, send in an GTX 670 ??? That is worth nothing, even if it works !
Can YES Fix it is back ❤
Can you flash the bios on that faulty 670 perhaps?
Best news was about your son coming to live with you! Hopefully mom will also come...
Oh my boi, my KING of aussies. Congrats on the free goodies. Oh btw I have a x79 asus extreme IV etc to give u, will u pay the postage? Let me know.
Hey Brian! Do you think the high failure rate you've been seeing on RX580s lately is due to mining? As you know, those 8GB units have been a lower end mining staple through now a couple of big booms over the years. It wouldn't surprise me to know that many of these older units have passed through multiple mining and gaming rigs as they change hands.
Follow channel quite a bit, though, some of it is above my head (technically). I have a question. I use a CAD program (FreeCAD), mainly to model 3D prints, and also dabble in some video editing ( not too high end). I will have to replace my 2012 PC. Some of the usb and sound parts are failing. My current system is an i5 2500k 3.3ghz, 8gb RAM, graphics is GTX 1050Ti. This graphics card seems to be OK for CAD, but struggles, somewhat with the video ( I am using CapCut). I also did have AMD before. Are there some recommendations out there that would suits my needs, regards, David
will answer it as the question of the day in tomorrows video for you.
You want to much for your computers, that is why sales are struggling. There are two ways to make money in this. The first, and apparently general way you use is to attempt to convince people you are offering something premium, that somehow by the fact that YOU touched, it is worth more than its worth. The other way, the method I use virtually exclusively, is making the money on the back end. I buy super low, and sell really low, therefore, my stuff actually sells because it offers a better price. Also, right now we are in a market phase where seller perception has not caught up with what buyers want. A 4790K with a GTX 980 is not something buyers really want anymore, they want 8700Ks with 1080s and 2070s, and they want it for around $500, but sellers want $100+ just for the chips and $150+ just for the cards because these parts are still gold plated in the minds of sellers.
😃 yes!
Green & Black, Go for the Hulk or Green Lantern
make more of these
I have the same RX 580 & a 570 by msi that looks just like that one as well and they BOTH don’t work!
Brian, is the MULTIPURPOSE SPRAY that you use on electronics the same as WD-40 in USA 🇺🇸?
The MSI Armor was the worst RX580 in the market, high VRAM fail rate because didn't have any heatsink nor decent airflow.
les love i5
I would still be using this zeon dual board. Wow free
Episode 6 Luke Skywalker theme!
18:35 NortheWestRepair or KrisFix or some other guys, not the guy you mentioned since he doesn't bother with stuff he can't reapir in like 30min. That's his business model, nothing wrong with it, but people migh end up paying for no fix because he doesn't want to spend a whole day fixing just ONE gpu for example.
There are other people also but I can't remember them, Northwestrepair actually mentioned them in one of his videos but I just don't remember them all.
Cherers
You should make a PC for the greatest band from the land down under. The Church.
Glad your son will come to live hear Bryan that is great your ex wife is being nice to you now love that old computer stuff lots mine dont work i have tried everything to make them work
