Ya you'd seriously need to use it as a TV and leave it on all day for it truly burn in. I imagine the majority of people just dont use their laptops like that
I still prefer Mini LED over it. Everyone knows OLED consumes a lot more energy when displaying bright images. Also, even if it won't burn unless you use it like TV, the risk is still there. A display that decays over time just doesn't cut it for me. And the main killer is the brightness. 400 nits is atrocious in todays standards. Phones get 2600 nits now, while that is still OLED, Samsung knows the burn risk is very low since phones are used differently vs a laptop. The tiny bit more blacks is just not worth it. Micro LED is the future.

@@scottdpeterstv oled….nobody wants burn in susceptible panels in a work laptop. I see you are really mad so here’s one for you: the upcoming M3 ultra chip will equal a 7995wx, if m4ultra is the upcoming, it will destroy the 95wx. Live with this
On Amazon in the UK, we can buy the MB Pro 16 M3 Max with 38GB/1TB for a similar price to the Galaxy Book4 Pro Ultra (36GB version is £3150 with no sales or deals ATM). In Windows-land, the 2024 entries are meh and a good year to not upgrade to any Windows Core Ultra as it is a sideways upgrade, and the dGPUs are similar to 2023. I would expect 2025 Intel and AMD to be a better upgrade. But I would choose an MB Pro 16 as it beats the Ultra in nearly every metric (keyboard, trackpad, speakers, battery life, performance, fan noise, resale value, quality, HDR, brightness, etc).
I just wanna see video rendering vs the tablet
how would the sims 4 run on this? 😭
Seeing a lot of cracked screens with this new model, which was an issue with the older models as well. A shame, it looks like a nice laptop otherwise
I wanted to buy it but after reading about cracking screens I don't think I should
Why performance same as M1 MacBook?
Useless apple products don't have the graphics card there!
As NVIDIA GeForce GTX 4050 or other
That's mean that MacBooks always will be socks compare with windows!
I like this one a lot, but for me it isnt that big of a downside that it isnt the fasted videocard it just needs to run packet tracer and football manager 24/25 and maby some minecraft. But i think it will do fine
Review the Book 4 Pro 14" please 🙏
"But this is for Samsung users" ☠
Ok so just wanted to say that the model people are referencing to be the macbook rival or killer which i wouldnt say its a macbook killer more so on a more even playing field is not the ultra 4 you reviewed as the one you reviewed is the lower spec'd model the top tier model has the newer i9 ultra processor with the 4070 graphics card and is available in a 32 or 64gb ram...and this is the model i suggest you compare just for reference i said its more of an evrn playing field to the newest mac pro because in single core performance the apple wins however in multi core processing the ultra does a whole lot better .plus the 4070 is a much more powerful dedicated graphics card as opposed to the mac pro.so i just wanted to give clarification as to the model most people are referencing too as being on par with apple is NOT the model reviewed .I hope you dont take offense as im not at all to disrect you as i like your channel just wanted to put this out here for the people that are researching to possibly purchase the apple or the ultra 4 that your review doesn't quite tell the whole story
matthew helloooooooo remember me?
probably not😅😅😪😪😪😪
XPS 16 next please. i7 with 4070
Because every RUclipsr brags about the AMOLED in Samsung laptops, because it is sponsored by Samsung, and normally this OLED is the worst shit in Samsung and flickers terribly.
You do know that a TON of OEMs rely on Samsung for their own devices displays and they are the industry leader in display technology right? Bet you didn't know Apple uses Samsung displays for iPhones and iPads and when the Mac FINALLY starts using OLED they will more than likely be from Samsung.
Samsung has the same mindset as Apple. They charge consumers outrages prices for the brand and ecosystem. No thanks, pass...
Starting at £2600 for this? I7 4050 Samsung thinking there Apple with pricing lol😂
we want review of base model samsung book 4 with core 7 Processor
This is the base model with Core 7 processor...
I wish samsung will shrink chin bazel, centered touch pad and have Snapdragon X Elite version
The Galaxy Book4 edge has the Snapdragon X Elite and is a bit more slim
Waiting for the Surface Laptop 6. 2024 is the year of ARM.
The Galaxy Book4 edge is running on ARM with Snapdragon X Elite
Do you think you could add whether a Windows laptop supports S3 Sleep mode? There's quite a few of us who view it as make or break when purchasing a new device. Should be as simple as running "powercfg -a" in command prompt, and see whether S3 is supported by the firmware. It's a point I personally would love, LOVE to know before purchasing a new laptop.
Pretty annoyed I cant get this in Australia.... considering switching to Apple if they keep locking us out when the time comes to buy a new laptop
love these laptops, their only downside is availability, SELL EM GLOBALLY SAMSUNG!!!
Another honest review --- thanks Matt.
You're welcome!
Thankyou for noticing the wobble on this 2300$ piece, many others simply brush off the wobble
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Wanted it until I heard about the French/English keyboard.
Why would anyone buy this when the X Elite is just around the corner?
I mean the X elite looks promising! My only concern is how well does it translate non native apps.
@@MatthewMoniz I saw some tests comparing emulated apps vs their native x86 versions. The emulated apps were 90% as good as the native ones.
How about a comparison to the new LG Gram? These two arw direct competitors and are rarely ever compared on reviews.
Nice but hideously overpriced compared to more powerful competitors. You can get the Lenovo Yoga 16” with the core Ultra 9, 32gb RAM & mini LED 3.5K screen for less. And ASUS offer an ecosystem similarly, their laptops are better and their phones are underrated.
hard pass...
Just got mine today. I haven’t used it much yet, but I’m excited because I have the Tab S9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galacy Buds Live, and Galaxy Watch 5… I actually didn’t realize how much I was in the Samsung ecosystem already and it’s just because I loved the quality and performance of the devices I already had so Samsung definitely hit me different lol..
That being said, I have used the M3 Max MacBook Pro 14 and 16” and those are just… mwah! Chef’s kiss! I don’t know if I’ll stick with the Galaxy Book, as I also have an iPhone and M3 MBA 15”, so I do have Apple products already and plan on getting the iPad Mini 7 whenever that drops… who knows. There is so much exciting tech other than there, I can’t decide!
Which do you use and recommend from a personal standpoint?
4050 for 2000$ no thanks
Disgusting
Battery is terrible, complete shit, dying so fast
how long does it last for you during average usage? I use "balanced" in the windows settings and "optimized" in the samsung settings. Brightness 50%. I only do some office work, browsing, chatting, watching youtube videos. It only lasts 4-5 hours.
why would you compare it to M1 pro? compare it to the latest offering from the competition? because it will destroy it in terms of performance and battery life....not even close to a fair comparison!!!
I compared it the m1 pro because it won't even come close to the m3 pro. I also don't have an m3 pro and only an m3 max which is just leaps ahead.
@@MatthewMonizyou are right it would not even come close, It would be better if you mentioned it in the video as it would show what mac's have to offer and "Intel, Samsung" see this and get their head in the game.
@@lakshay8363 I did mention it in the video right in my conclusion.
😂😂😂 did you day m1 pro performance
The reason why ppl choose Android or Samsung mobile on Android platform as a brand is due to its open ecosystem and price variability. Not a 《Samsung ecosystem》 thing. Otherwise I am gonna use Apple alteady especially within the US market. Don't like the review of this guy...
It kills the m4
No one is buying this for the "ecosystem". 90% of the subreddit for the galaxy book is there to complain about how broken these value-add Samsung features and purported integration are. It may work out of the box perfectly...for maybe five minutes. The moment Windows starts updating and you start installing programs, the whole system will implode. These features are not part of the OS, not closely developed with Microsoft, and just hanging precariously on a top layer. Even with Microsoft support, it will be garbage tier anyway, just like large parts of their OS, and the windows phonelink that only notionally works.
I can't wait for this laptop to have the upcoming Snapdragon CPU.
The Galaxy Book4 edge has the Snapdragon X Elite
French keys. Anyone would think they speak French in Canada 🤷
The one I purchased is specked out!
Samsung - Galaxy Book4 Ultra 16"
AMOLED Touch Screen 2880 x 1800
Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU
32GB Memory
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU
2TB SSD
Moonstone Gray
Price Total: $3,199
was it worth the price?
How many Watts on that 4070?
@@MnopTheGreat 140W
It cost almost 1k dollars more than Asus zephyrus g14 for similar specs with worse speakers and trackpad than g14. what a joke🤡
damn high price
Hey, its purpose is to compete with macbook. So having any higher number compared to macbook is great, including price.
Can't game properly... no haptic track pad... Speakers any good? Costs more than a current MacBook Air, and is still less performant. Make it make sense. Integration.. meh. still Nah
🎉🎉🎉
Well I prefer micro SD as my devices have micro SD cards and I don't have any adapters with me all the time I don't even have a single full size sd card - only RUclipsr have in their legacy equipment
It's quite pretty but I don't see me paying for it.
What would you buy at that price point?
@@MatthewMoniz Something from Lenovo Thinkpad.
@@MatthewMoniz Every other laptop is more powerful and with more RAM and mini LED, never a flashing screen in this hopeless Samsung OLED
Amazing battery = Very underpowered CPU
no, the battery is not good
People who think samsung should create linux laptops
👇
What would be the difference? Not paying Microsoft royalties?
@@utschb18 Samsung could customize the software WAY more than they ever could using windows, besides linux is fast and users could customize it themselves incase they do not like the additions samsung has
first??
None of these are mac killers. Smh. Its not about just the specs. It runs windows so its garbage to me. The main reason i use macs is the OS. And with Geforce now i have zero want for a garbage ass windows 11 machine.
what is the Geforce ?
looks boring compared to their earlier models. hate the 16" version with numkeys (& the extra french whatever). the 2 & 3 year old samsungs had kind of like the dell xps look (not their poor service)...almost edge to edge keyboard. & i now only do silver or white laptops. i might try a matt gold one day...ha ha. 🙊(don't say apple rose gold ..the don't have a 360° model...or touchscreen, even). hey...everyone has their preferences. blue sucks. black is boring. i would have an asus zenbook flip...but what terrible colour options they offer. slimy green, bluey gray...wth? so, in my opinion...they went backwards with this model. 🙏🏽
Overpriced windows garbage, i take the much much faster better looking more premium entry m3pro over this windows failure 💩
Stop rage baiting on every video and get a life please🥺
The worst crap is a MacBook where everything is soldered, even the screen is glued
