The lamp at the end reminds me of some old heavy wooden table legs that my mom bought at an antique furniture store in 1969. My dad drilled and wired them for bedroom lamps and they bought those tall drum shades for them. I always thought that was so adventurous of them. She saw the idea in a magazine at the time. Can you imagine tall drum shades in the bedroom? They had an open beamed high 'A' peaked ceiling, so it looked nice.
If that lamp is metal, I would agree with others that it looks like a foundry mark. If it was a clay lamp it would be the potter's mark.
I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge of glass and dishware. I look forward to your next video. Thank you!
I always learn so much watching you! Thanks!
Hi Scott just saw your mom going through Barbie clothes. You may not be interested but they are washable. Just soak them in the kitchen sink in luke warm water with Dawn detergent. Then rinse them and let them dry out on a towel. I am an avid 60s Barbie doll fan since I owned over 40 Barbie, Midge, Ken Francie and Skipper dolls the 60s.
Thanks for the tip!
Regina.. YES!! 🙌🏻
Oh, Scott, you are still just as cute as you were then! I would not even be surprised to learn that you still eat chocolate cake the same way too. LOL 😆 😂😅
A foundry mark is on the lamp (I think)
Now I’m gonna go listen to that song… Be right back
Now I’m marching with my tambourine in my backyard
Now I’m Kim Wilding
Thanks for taking us along. I will never get over how good your thrift stores are.
If i lived where you are & was able to shop the thrift stores, I'm afraid I'd be a hoarder. These stores have better inventory than some of the antique malls I shop. Not to mention much lower prices in your thrift stores than our antique malls. Thanks, Mary
Love it when you put description on the items you find Scott~❣️
So much fun Scott! You brightened this dreary day here on the east coast 🥰. Thanks for taking us along & sharing all the goodies!
Paden City utopia glass tray from 1930s. Love it! I have a heart shaped jewlery dish in their blue in same pattern..
The stain on those green flowered glass can washed away with soap and sponge
Thanks Scott, you make thrifting so much fun!!! You find the best stuff!!!
Such a great thrift Scott! You know I loved the Persian Medallion Center bowl and as a collector I say you are absolutely right! Great call on it. I probably would have jumped on a center bowl in that pattern but only to keep for myself at $10! Oh my detached retina at that parlor lamp!!!
Hi Scott and good evening! I have been going back and watching your way-old videos and it's really humorous seeing your evolution. Such as you saying "this is pressed glass, I don't buy much of it", and "I don't really collect glass", and I think i came across the first time you said "pink, pink you stink",😂! I just finished watching the one where you went to the estate sale and the poor old grumpy guy fell down the stairs. You are so much more focused and sure of your market now. Always enjoy watching!
I'm a 'way-old' subscriber of the OCS, (2018/19) and it is very interesting seeing what Scott used to buy and pass on vs. what he buys and passes on now. I remember when he used to avoid the 'clear glass' aisle!
@@kpgunther Yes, I noticed he wasn't even looking at the clear glass, and I can tell he's built up so much knowledge about glass and pottery over the last 5 years. OCS is such a good thrifting/reselling channel because Scott is choosy and has a real eye for quality. I get somewhat frustrated with others who just buy a whole lot of this and that and random bric-a-brac. I can see that myself at any yard sale.
I'm on a shopping diet of sorts right now, so I tune in to watch the live sales, at least I can watch other people buy some really cool stuff! A couple of months ago he bought a really pretty hen and rooster set of figures that haven't come up for sale yet, and when they do I'm going off my diet! I asked him in the haul video that featured those if he was going to sell them soon and he said he wasn't sure. Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see!
The blue art deco dish is stunning!
Scott, you are spot on. That tray is Paden City, Gazebo, 1930's. I have never seen it before either! It is NOT in the "Encyclopedia Of Paden City Glass" by Carrie and Jerry Domitz. You may have an extreme rarity there!
Really looking forward to tomorrow's thrift haul. I just love your videos and learning about what you find.
"Blind those babies"😂😂 How did we ever survive childhood?😂😂😂
Ok that sconce!! 🙏🏻😟
Thank you for cheering me up on a dismal rainy day in Ridley Park 🩵I loved everything and look forward to tomorrow’s thrift hall🤗
Great finds, Scott! Have a great week. Thank you for your video. 😊
Promise.... 👍
I’d pay you $40.00 I can’t find carnival glass no where, I love your videos
So many treasures - can’t wait!
Hello Scott. Glad you did so well thrifting. Loved seeing the old movie clips ☺️. Those lights looked like headlights 😂. Hope you’re having a nice evening. 😉🕊️
' I used to be able to do that' cracked me up!!!
Good to see you, we missed you! Always love seeing the 'home movies'! You were quite the cute kid and the footage of your dad shaving is priceless! lol! Per usual, you found some very cool items! That lamp is intriguing, and I think I know what you're going to tell us about it! (Your Le Réveil female sculpture was made similarly, yes?) ... See you tomorrow!
Wow, I had a beautiful hanging light fixture with 6 slip in pretty muted orange shades. Why do I not still have it??!!! You find the best treasures.
A brown cow was a nickname for a barrel of beer, specifically in the early 18th century in Scotland. “How now brown cow” was a way of asking for another pint. Since the late 19th century, it has been taken over as part of elocution lessons, as it is full of vowel sounds.Aug 30, 2023. Then used for elocution kessons.
🎉 Dynamite video Scott🎉
😂😂I 've heard it called many things..but business
Fun visit, Scott…Fave part was the silent film footage…What a hoot! The stretch green glass fooled me as well…At first it looked like a Carol Brady style bowl. The two handle glass tray with the gazebo was my fave treasure today.
You know Scott. Thank yo! Every time I’m feeling down I can turn on your videos and it puts a smile and happy thoughts. Then I feel a bit better. Your so cheerful and fun loving and a joy to watch
Thank you - Julie in San Jose California
Ooo! Lots of cool stuff to see!!
Ps I love your videos. You are such a hoot!
Oh my the stretch glass, i never see stuff like that!
I appreciate you taking us along shopping with you. You really did make a great haul. I can hardly wait until tomorrow. I want to see what else you found and learn about that lamp. Sleepy bye nite nite, I'll see you tomorrow.
I love and enjoy every video and learn so much from you. Very happy I subscribed so long ago and I can't wait for you to bring out the old doll house you rescued.
I still have my Kim Wilde vinyl with “Kids in America!”
.My grandmother had a large film machine with several lights and a suitcase full of reel to reel films and the projector of our chilhood.
Amazing abundance of old stuff at good will; I live in S. Fla. and nothing compares to your finds.
“Down by the Riverside”, I’m clapping my hands!
The blue Art Deco glass dish is attractive. I agree it doesn’t look like it is made in the US
I don't have a goodwill near me. The thrift store I go to has a policy of no price no sale too. I will take pieces up to the counter so they will be priced and put back out, but I know some people do that so the item will be there the next time they come. They used to just hide items or if like shoes hide one. I've also left my name and number if I am interested in the item and they will call me when it is priced so I can come in and get it or not. Each day is a half price day for something. One day it is everything in the children's dept, clothes, toys, etc. One day women's etc Thurs is a day I can get at half price for most anything, and Fri is my senior day and I get half off. Sat is everything for everyone at half price but you have to be there early.
You have great thrift stores where you live!!
The Milk pitcher or Creamer circa 1899 would have been a nice piece to collect....The same goes for the Chalk Ware Bookend Seated Woman in the Maroon dress.....The Blue Glass Top Hat was beautiful as well. It's too bad it didn't have a price..... Thanks Scott.....
❤ Can’t wait for the haul reveal!
Ir you haven't already done so, take a look at the Antique Road Trip series.Very informative.
It does make for a stressful shopping trip when you have to tell the items on the shelves to get a room. 🤨
I don't seen Iris and Herringbone as often as you, but I have seen it a handful of times. Over the weekend I saw it at a thrift priced at $32.
I don’t think you would be that excited over that lamp base unless you thought it was Tiffany studios. That classic design might put it in the aesthetic movement. Might be copper over bronze. Just some wild guessing here. The most exciting ‘sleepers’ I ever found was Roseville Futura pieces and a.Bergman Austrian bronze, ‘Arabian warrior on horseback’. Oh!, the thrill of the hunt and chase. I think the carnival bowl is Persian Medallion. It is usually more breathtaking in cobalt with tons of iridescence. Good hunting!
Enjoyed your shopping trip today! I am very curious to learn more about the lamp. The style looks like Arts & Crafts transitioning into Art Nouveau. I imagine it would have had a slag glass shade.
Lovely shopping trip. That stretch glass bowl is fine…you are always fun Scott.🖤🇨🇦
Hello Scott, thanks for making a dreary rainy Sunday a lovely day..❤
I LOVE that glass "Gazebo" tray !
Love you Scott❣️You make our day! Fun shopping with you!
That would make a nice fruit bowl
That was what it was advertised as back in the day. Aren't you clever!
I usually wsych.you on tv. Upu were talking about microwaving a chicken dinner. I have given away severad. So dangerous. Changes the chemisyry.of.food
We.want.to.see.you live a long and healthy life!!❤
I like the book end too. She’s elegant. I really like the picture of the hanging cage light with slip shads. I need to make that for a dollhouse.
Scott, your shopping and haul videos are my favorite. You take the time to explain items even ones you don't plan to purchase. You talk about the what, when and whys. Much respect to you for being able to pass items up and leave them behind (that's my weakness).
Looking forward to your upcoming haul video. 🙏🏼😀🎵
Our Goodwill‘s will not price it for you either. I hate that.!
PA has the best Goodwills. Great finds.
Scott you know I was looking through the shelf while you looked at martini set at that beautiful eapg milk pitcher 😊 glad you showed it when you got to it 😉. Great video can't wait to see what you got!
Your knowledge is fascinating, thanks for sharing! New subscriber here and will be sharing with friends and fam!
Have no idea what that mark means on the base of the lamp
Scott that Russet Stretched glass bowl is absolutely stunning! Im almost willing to lay a wager that would be Northwood. They are Known for thier Russet color glass especially in carnival! They have some stunning candlestick holder to match! Ill have to email you the info on them so you can keep an eye out for them!
Oh thank you so much.
Haha……that’s where detached retina began……!!! So funny
Just loved it Scott! Can you answer my question: Why are your thrift stores full of so much better stuff than here in Cincinnati??😢😢😢
Yay!! BUFFALO
Thank you for describing why you left the carnival glass behind.
Proust had his madeleines, Scott has his movie light . . .
My Irish grandma had the LuRay pastels! Oh the memories of creamed peas and ugh, creamed everything eaten from those gorgeous plates!
Cool items! I love the glass for the light.
Great show!
Shopping with Scott so much fun.😊
I love that cattail pattern I have a lot of it.That set you where looking at was all faded.
Epic!
Just subscribed and I'm not even through the video 😅 definitely like what I'm seeing thanks for sharing your knowledge of vintage and antique items.👍💕
6:50 😍too bad it doesn’t have the metal spout
Such a handsome daddy!
Our goodwill does the same thing - won't price something you find on the shelves that does not have a price sticker. Very frustrating
14:15 Tammy and I did not sign off on modeling for this statue!
I can’t read what it says…
I thought you would get that stand with 2 sections for something to be placed & the female figure on the pedestal.
👋🙌👍
Wow. You did great!! I’m subscribed on three accounts lol if I could I’d subscribe a hundred more times. The only RUclipsr I love more is my hubby 🥰
Scott is that you as a baby eating the cake.
Is that mark the P for Pairpoinr?
I'm first!!! Good evening, Scott!! Your haul was just divine!! I learn so much from you.
Good morning to you from the UK, Scooty (that nickname suits you so well...) - where it's Early May Bank Holiday Monday.
I think that blue glass divided dish could indeed be English (or European). Reminded me of one of my fave charity shop glass finds: a very different piece - a powder jar (I think...) - but with similar simple geometric lines/bands, and the exact same shade of blue.
As ever, I have total 'thrift envy'. The concept of giant stores you can push a trolley (UK English for 'cart' 😁) around is wild, by our standards. Charity shops here are are tiny by comparison (but I still love 'em to bits...). Thanks for taking us with you, and for your unfailingly entertaining and informative commentary ♥️
Why does crazy lamp lady go to Maine so much when Pennsylvania stores are so loaded with antiques? Just curious…I have been wondering for a while.
IMO, I think it’s because she does not collect/resell EAPG, depression glass or dish sets - she admits it’s not in her wheelhouse. She’s more into mid-century glass, pottery, cute figurines, kitsch, etc.
When did she go to Maine?
@@amyj1124 sorry, I ment Maryland….brain fog I guess. lol
Where is this Goodwill? I'm in NE Philly.
I was in about 3 different stores over the course of this video.
The whole biz is crashing. That's why you found so much good stuff. Dealers aren't restocking. Started early April kind of a depression in all respects. SO MUCH STUF AN STUFF AN STUFF AN STUFF. As the eighty million baby boomers who are now all over sixty five die off in the next twenty years. Thier stuff will be filling these stores to overflow.
See you Monday,,,,,,,,,,,,,TWICE
