@@oldcuriosityshop265 I am assuming this is in reference to the conversation about the Hobbs & Brockuneir hobnail piece? That was a 'leave it on the shelf' item for me. As you said, it's not re-selling for much and it's also not very desirable considering how many have NOT sold on eBay. Your instincts were spot on with that one...
Yikes! Scott! I was yelling at you to buy the antique Hobbs Frances Ware bowl (clear frosted and amber rim) from the 1800s, @ 5:42 but you didn't hear me! Beautiful stuff!
@16:42 I would have looked at the tall slender woman with the light green sash...never saw anything like that before, not sure if it was a vase or figurine...and the lady with the melted dress had creepy dead eyes, so I would have picked that up for $4, I would have took a pic to text to Vinney to see if he wanted it...the clock is cool if you can stop the noise, it sounded like an annoying alarm clock noise, I used to set my clock radio to the annoying sound because hearing music did not wake me up...I think the corn dish was to ladle out melted butter for your corn? or gravy or other sauce for the rest of the meal
Scott, You had me at, "Oh you're a pretty one, you might be coming home with me" whilst talking to that gorgeous EAPG vase... in the romantic atmosphere... of the darkened thrift store... All kidding aside, you found some great items! I'm glad that you rescued the damaged Art Deco piece, I would have as well. Did you indeed take home the EAPG vase, you didn't show it in the car haul? BTW: My Großtante (great aunt) Freida was not a fan of 'back talk', she was a sweet but humorless woman. However, you can back talk or talk back to us all day long, we don't mind! Thank you for taking us to 'work' with you!
The hobnail bowl, with the yellow/amber rim, at 5:30, sure looked like a 19th century Hobbs Brockunier bowl. Some of that can be quite pricey. Always wanted a water set in that...they're really pricey, though. I used to have quite the collection of the figural/animated United clocks. I had two different fireplace models.
I grew up in Philly and we would drive into Trenton to go to first run movies because t was less expensive than center city Philly. That teapot is beautiful.
I wish you’d have just left the cart stuck there and got a new cart. OMG! My stomach hurts!😂😂😂 I like the fireplace clock best! I can’t do this this morning!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What an adventurous day you had in NJ/PA, and you cleaned up! My grandmother would always tell the grandchildren when we went shopping and came home with loot, she would always say, “ You had a Red Letter Day” 😆😆 Scott, Johnson China , was based in East Liverpool Ohio, around 1885-1930’s. Unfortunately they did not survive the Depression. Their designs remind me of Knowles China. They have a great china museum in East Liverpool. Many moons ago when I found out back in my family tree, my DNA has tons of china in it! So That is my excuse for my love affair with China, Pottery and Everything else! Thanks for taking us on that delicious adventure ❤️👏💚
Ooh, that Czech bowl! I’m eagerly awaiting it to appear in a sale. It has all the colors of my home and I always need pretty serving bowls. Especially hand painted beautiful old ones. I’m glad you rescued the Art Deco pink/red? Lady. She’s like a lot of us, been repaired but still has a lot of life in her. She’ll grace the 1925 bungalow beautifully.
You are the only one that I follow who is so knowledgeable about glass in the depression era ,I have a big collection of depression glass which I love.
Hum....well perhaps I'll swing by and pick it up. I've never seen that pattern before. I did check out Ebay listings and I see about a dozen but none have sold in the last 90 days. The hobnails on that bowl were huge!!!!!!!!!
You find the best stuff. So many vintage/antique pieces in your thrift stores! I can’t get over it. You really got some fantastic things! ❤. I love “put it down” 😅. I’ve said that many times! Sometimes it works!
Your Christmas present of sox and gloves will be delivered tomorrow to a man I know who lives on the street so he can help people without homes. I do this through my church which has a box for donations which he passes out when he encounters a need. And he is running into a lot of people who have needs. So Merry Christmas, Scott, and know that others are appreciative of your gift. I was glad you suggested people give to those in need rather than send you gifts.
You did GOOD today Scott. The Fry ramekins are fantastic, and you got a great deal on the Hazel Atlas lunch/desert sets. I liked everything you bought to be honest, you have got the eye. That fabric is gorgeous, I suspect it will be something in the living room. Have fun cleaning all those pieces.🖤🇨🇦
Now you’re thrifting in my old territory. Love all the 30’s dishes with designs in Fiesta colors. And the deco percolator. Looking forward to seeing what you do with that vintage fabric.
My favorite was the clock. I hope you get the noise stopped. When you showed the turkey platter I kicked myself because I got one at the beginning of the year and forgot to use it at Thanksgiving!
The teapot is absolutely lovely. I would have also bought the plate, cup & saucer; pretty. Wow, wow the Germany flower covered bowl is spectacular. Rather than the amethyst dishes, I really liked the Homer L plates with the pretty pale blue trim.
My grandmother had a fireplace clock exactly like the one you purchased. She had it stored away upstairs where I would go and explore as a child. Great finds, Scott!!!
At about 3:40 you picked up a high gloss white piece with scallops along the top edge. You said it was chipped. I have a dark green matte glaze identical piece. I am not sure who the maker is but I love it. It sits in my telephone niche in my 1947 house because the scallops match each other. (hope that makes sense) I love my green piece that I got for a $1 years ago. The white doesn't look as good. It was fun to see the white piece as I have never seen another one. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks.
I donated a bunch of pieces of that purple glass. I just could not come to grips with shipping it. It went to a good cause. The local humane society thrift store, Sophie's Closet in my town. You always find the cool 40s stuff. I apparently live in the wrong state. Your shelves are filled with so many goodies! Merry Christmas....
Would one put melted butter in the corn dish to ladle on to an ear of corn? Love the turkey platter for $5.99! And the mantle clock would have gone in my cart as well. Thank you for taking us along Scott.
Decided to read all the comments so far. Nice to see what people who probably never join the chat on lives have to say. Loved the stories from people who remember an item from youth. This was a fun ride today!
Laughed out loud at Suzanne Sommers pic. I really like the Honeycomb patterned tea pot. That piece will steal the show at teatime. . Also would you alert us with a satirical pic of your nemesis when she shows up in the same store as you? 😂💛
Hi Scott. I found your channel today and I'm really glad that I did! I'm in southeastern PA, in Upper Bucks and we are so lucky to have such a great assortment of thrift stores in the area! I happen to have the exact same fireplace clock, United, model 419. Its been packed away for 5 yrs, since I moved, found it just last week in a box, and used it this year as a Christmas display with my Byers Choice carolers. It looks adorable! Also, I've been to the Salvation Army in Fairless Hills that you mentioned, I need to get back there soon!
Gorgeous day on the gulf coast in the mid 50s and sunshine.. took my pugs for a walk and I’m folding laundry and watching your videos.. Merry Christmas Scott!! I hope you have a wonderful holiday!!❤❤
Loved the teapot, the Vinnie whatchamacallit & the damaged naked dancing lady shelf sitter, & for some reason the dumb plants sitting on the stairs (or however you said it) just struck me as being so cute! Id imagine shopping by the light of your phone after the lights went out made thrifting more of a treasure hunt than usual, lol.
Should you ever make a trip to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire... particularly Meredith...have lunch at Harts Turkey Farm Restaurant. You'll see so many old turkey platters and plates. In nearby Laconia is an antique store that once was Woolworth's.
So many pretty things, but I always just jump out of my seat when I see something on your shelves that I have and could always have more of:)) The Portmeirion Canisters @16:00 which your eyes probably skim right by. Love the little Doric Pink dish by Jeanette. PPYS! Your turkey platter is fabulous! Wonderful finds as always! I hope you are getting to have some fun during this holiday season!
Yes the Hobbs Dew Drop bowl IS something although it's not high dollar it's nice. I have a covered dish that just sold in my Ebay shop and another still for sale. They're pretty pieces. Love the shop alongs. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

The clock with mini fireplace needs mini garland and mini stockings hung. It’s adorable
I agree. That would make a charming Christmas decoration l.
What a great idea! 👍
I used mine, same exact model, as part of my display of Byers Choice carolers-it's perfect!
" Six of one, half dozen of another."

Hi Scott ~ Fun video today! The bowl with yellow/gold crimped edge and the frosted hobnails is by Hobbs Brockunier No.323 aka Dew Drop c1886
Yes Scott im waiting for the green punch since u found it. Wow keep looking for the cups..Minnie

What a great shopping trip that was!
I have never seen this Thompson piece. It’s nice to find there are pieces out there that surprise me .
The clock cheered me to no end 🙌🏻

Hi Scott. I agree about the dating of the German bowl. It was 1921 when USA required "made in" but there could have been a paper label?

Hum.....1917? I'm certain my example is from the 1930's. I'll have to study up on Thompson.
That ceramic corn holds melted butter.
I thought about that but had second thoughts because that would be a HUGE amount of butter.
