Thank you very much for your wonderful video narration of this magnificent artist! Truly truly AMAZING! Your video is top quality and helps in understanding the themes and techniques of this painter. best wishes to all!
They are both wonderful painters, with their own unique styles. Fun fact is that the two actually met in Rome in 1842, and Turner loved the works of Aivazovsky, so much so that he would write a poem inspired by Aivazovsky's works.
@@AmuzeArt "The Explosion of the Ship", dedicated to the explosion of a Turkish ship off the island of Chios by Constantine Canaris in 1822, is the one that remained unfinished on the easel. It was displayed on that easel, at least according to our tour guide, in the artist’s former home, now museum of I. K. Aivazovsky, Feodosia, Crimea. I believe we are talking about the same work?
@@Artistmarynanemynushcha Interesting, the one I included in the video seems pretty finished, so maybe he created multiple versions of this event, which is not unlikely given the enormous number of works he painted during this life?
@@AmuzeArt It is not in the video, I have just re-watched it. The painting I remember looks unfinished, with a one only ship that is burning and a shoreline with a mountain hillside on the background. I agree, it’s very difficult with so many works this artist created, and so many battle paintings, to determine some of them. The video, however, shows some works I’ve never seen before, which was very thrilling!
Great artist and beautiful paintings, there's so many great works he did. There were a lot of great artists from this period of time. Thanks for making the video.
Truthfully I mostly prefer his landscape paintings over his ocean paintings. One of my favorites, among Grimshaw and Hasui Kawase (I have a very basic taste haha).
I like to do some of his paintings, I did one called The Homecoming….a ship near the shore as wife and kids of one family waited, the ship in a mist fog….
Gotta love how colossal the work were and how quickly they were made.
Absolutely

Thank you!
I think my favourite has to be 'Gathering Storm, 1899' something how the ocean looks in that one calms me
That's a very nice one for sure!
one of my favorite painters! I actually like his seascapes more than Turner's

Thanks for video !!!
My pleasure, thanks for watching
If I can only pick one, his painting of the burning battle ship that was left unfinished on the easel is my favorite.
Is that The Burning of the Turkish Flagship by Kanaris (1881) or do you mean another one?

Interesting, I found the painting, and it is called Exploding Ship from 1900, the year he died. Thanks for sharing!
